Terrible service and quality of food is bad

The French fries are not the ones as advertised when they come with your online order they are overcooked burnt, extremely soggy in the middle and greasy and have a horrible taste! I experienced this over a year ago at the same white spot, but I was dining in ! The online order app did nothing to address this issue and some of our order was missing? For both entrées. They are a franchise. They are not allowed to change the french fries it's not the policy so why would they give customers an unacceptable and inedible food ?

We came here for early lunch around 11 am on a weekday and it was not very busy. More people came in closer to 12 pm but it was not full house unlike other locations. This is perfect when you don't want to deal with crowds. It has a decent sized parking lot where you can park on both sides of the restaurant. There are also 2 dining sections which make this place quite big. Our server was fabulous. She actually brought over a new glass of iced tea for my friend when she noticed it was almost empty. She checked on us frequently. Really excellent service! The food was typical white spot standard. The burger was yummy. I'll definitely come to this location in future as the one I usually go to typically has to wait for a table.

I came here on August 16, 2023 for the Pirate Pak Day with 2 other people. I got the bacon chedder burger for $20.99 and I added mushrooms to it for another $1.99. The Pirate Pak came with a refillable soft drink, ice cream, gold coins, coleslaw and bottomless fries. $2 goes to charity. We were surprised that the place was not as busy during lunch time compared to the other locations. The burger was super tasty. They were generous on the sauce. Service was great. We showed up at 11 am and we were not rushed or anything and we left at around 12:20 pm. The decor is quite nice and cozy inside. Inside was very clean and spacious. It is a very big restaurant. On top, there are plenty of parking space in the parking lot.

we had reservations at white spot in burnaby on kingsway to celebrate a milestone birthday. dinner was at 5:30 pm on a thursday, and when we arrived, there was no one at the front to greet us. the place wasn't packed, so perhaps they were understaffed. we were a party of eight and sat in a somewhat separated section in the back, and it took a while for our server to take our drink orders. the family dining atmosphere at this particular location was not busy and the service seemed slower than usual. when the drinks finally arrived, they were exactly what we needed to start off the evening. our server, though delayed, was friendly and apologetic for the wait. the menu at white spot offers a variety of options, including plant based. as a child, we used to visit white spot frequently, and i always get the monty mushroom burger. this time though, i skipped the fries and coleslaw, 'cause the fries aren't great and i wasn't particularly hungry. the burger featured a beef patty with sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and their triple o sauce, all sandwiched between a soft bun with a slice of dill pickle on top. the combination of flavours was satisfying (and messy), but not as good as i remembered it to be. the food was just okay, nothing special, we reminisced about the good ol' days when white spot was the go-to place for a quick yet delicious meal. the nostalgic charm of their pirate packs for kids with the gold chocolate coin and the legendary burgers for adults and famous milkshakes (the main reason white spot was chosen for this celebration). two people from our party ordered chocolate milkshakes, but when the chocolate milkshakes arrived, it was missing the metal cup on the side. our orders seemed to take an unusually long time to come out as well. we enjoyed our time together, celebrating a birthday, but sad to say, white spot has lost its charm.

I went here with my family on May 20th Saturday. We ordered dishes like Bolognese Pasta ($21.99), Salmon Burger ($20.99), Haddock and Fries ($22.99) and Chicken Spot Salad ($18.99). Food was wonderful. Bolognese Pasta and fish and chips were pretty good. Fish and chips were so crispy and tender YUM. Salmon Burger was small, but fries made me full. My family also were impressed by Bolognese Pasta it was amazing. Although fries were bottomless, none of us wanted more after sharing dishes together. Fries could've been better, but I gotta admit bottomless service is fantastic. I never paid much attention to the server's name he was professional and attentive.

Great service and very spacious layout. Good choice for early breakfast as it's open at 7am. Menu says kid's pirate breakfast are available until 3pm. Their famous White Spot Pirate Pak until 10am and the Pirate Pak looks cute. We ordered the turkey avocado wrap and waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Delicious and well presented. I used to enjoy White Spot for its many locations across town and for the various drinks creations on their beverage menu. Now I shall add this Kingsway location to my list of Burnaby's early breakfast option. I love restaurants with fireplace and natural lighting. Lots of seating available for larger parties too or you can sit at the bar to catch up on sports channels. Pair it with a sparkling cocktail and it's happy hour fun! Cheers!

White spot is the best. If you're looking for easy, family friendly or meet up with friends for drinks this is the place. This location has ample parking, a great dine in area and patio. We requested the patio and got a table within minutes. It was the perfect patio table with movable umbrellas for shade. Our party of 5 tried the chicken Cobb salad, breakfast wrap, seafood fettuccine and salmon burger. Wasn't expecting lettuce to be the iceberg type in a Cobb salad but otherwise it was fine. Buttermilk fried chicken juicy and tender. Seafood fettuccine good portion and tasty. Breakfast wrap was huge. Pirate pack as always is a hit for little ones. Service was fast and friendly. See you next time!

Chicken & Mushroom Fettuccine Alfredo: $19.49

Price: ~$20/ person average price Service: 9/10 friendly and helpful staffs Food: 8/10 good quality from a chain family restaurant. Chicken & Mushroom Fettuccine Alfredo: $19.49 The portion is actually pretty much with Lemon-chargrilled fresh BC chicken breast, Parmesan cream sauce with sautéed mushrooms, green onion & spinach. Garlic bread. The chicken is not dry at all, tender but tasteless. The Parmesan cream sauce with sautéed mushrooms is on point. So creamy, rich and cheesy goes well with the pasta and garlic bread. It's good for casual dining with your family and friends.

Really great food as always. With white spot you always know what you are going to get because their quality is consistent. My fish and chips was great, however there could have been more tarter sauce given out as I could have used more for sure. Service was really good this time as our server/bartender was really friendly.

New menu item. Cobb salad looks good!
    Liz O.

Food was good, server was lovely. The only thing that was a bit off putting was when we were seated, there were crumbs and bits all over the seats. I had two kids with me, so I get it, messes happen! It would just be nice if the long bench seating were wiped at the same time as the tables. I had a breakfast that was very nice and the kids had pirate packs, which are always a hit.

I'm not a particularly fond of chain restaurants, but there are some that know how to cater to a family. White Spot has a large menu that can cater to your pickiest little eaters. Service was excellent and friendly even at 9:00AM in the morning. It's not fine dining, but for what it is, they know how to do it right.

It is also a fantastic spot to work if you wanna have a café setting because their pastries and bake goods are absolutely fantastic. In fact last year for Christmas, we bought one of their Christmas cake options which proved to be super popular with the family. What I love about this location is the decor. On one side it is a simple industrial warehouse. But it has that post modern feel with all of the live plants. The live plants is what I love and the tall ceiling for the plants to fully grow. Though if they are looking for something else, which could really bring this to the top, it would be to have a fish tank. A fish and or water feature around the massive plant island in the middle of the dinning area would be chefs kiss. Of course, what about the food? From here, I find the food here is excellent. Sometimes the flavour combinations are a little weird. But that's typical for the Vancouver foodie scene. Vancouver food scene is a fusion hybrid of local ingredients mixed with traditions from cultures from other places around the world. But the bottom line is the portions are a good size. The platters in particular are large and would feed a very hungry person. You definitely get your moneys worth. You don't get much table service once you are done with your order. But that is all right because of it size and volume for the amount of people who come through. I am totally happy with the self serve station, which could be enhanced and the large setting with all of the very mature plants. If I would offer advice to anyone it would be this. If you are going to be there on the weekend arrive before 9 AM. People start lining up at 10 to 15 minutes before the store officially opens. Plus I find is easier to take the street parking rather than playing with Faith trying to back out with customers who are not paying attention.

Missing from the plates was butter for the toast and waffles, so I'm not sure if they don't usually provide it or they forgot it. The over-easy eggs were more over-medium and the potatoes tasted a bit off to me, but I was full anyway, so I just left them. The restaurant was a bit cold so we ate with our coats on for most of the time. Would be nice if they raised the temperature by 1-2 degrees so it's more comfortable on colder days. Service was mostly ok but our server asked us when we were still halfway through our meals if we wanted anything else and when we said we were good, she did not come back until we flagged her down for the bill. Maybe she was new, but servers should still check on customers for refills of coffee, hot water for tea, etc. Coffee is $3.25 and I did not get a refill due to the disappearing server, so it was quite pricey for one small cup. Pro tip: There is free parking in front of the restaurant but it's also for the golf course and is pretty busy even on a Wednesday after 7pm so plan accordingly as street parking is a bit far away. We ordered the mussels as an additional appetizer in white wine broth and also each ordered the $45 menu. We both selected the Oven Roasted Beef Striploin and for dessert there was a choice of cheesecake with caramel sauce, cinnamon cheesecake, and black forest cake. My Mom chose the black forest cake and I ordered the cinnamon cheesecake. The mussels appetizer dish was quite generous in quantity for $23 and mussels were a good size. Served with 2 slices of toast, the white wine sauce was more watery than other places but still decent. For the $45 course, the Summer Corn salad comes with artisan greens, feta, carrot, radish, tomato, red onion, orange vinaigrette. This was a refreshing light start to the meal and we both really enjoyed it. For the slow roasted beef striploin, it was served with asparagus and bell peppers, mash potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and a red wine demi. The beef striploin was lean but not tough and was super trendy and juicy. Yorkshire pudding, which I'm usually not a fan of, was really warm and soft. Overall, a really solid dish that was generous in portion. Dessert was also solid for both the cinnamon cheesecake and black forest cake. We barely finished the dessert and both of us had leftovers of our entree to take home as we couldn't finish our food. Great value for a 3 course $45 meal for today's economy and the service was really friendly and warm.

The menu had as many choices as a typical White Spot. Prices were reasonable, but entrees could be upgraded which could cause prices to escalate if you weren't prudent. For example, I ordered the steak but got the lobster upgrade which raised the price by 30%. And, it was the lower-grade Caribbean lobster instead of the much juicier Atlantic lobster. It took a long time for the food to begin arriving. But, we did have a larger party that night. But, after a long wait, all our food arrived almost all at once. Presentation was good, and portion size was adequate. My steak was medium rare even though I had requested rare. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals, and a few were unable to finish their food. Service was only okay. If they weren't taking your order or delivering your food, you didn't see much of the staff. And, the restaurant wasn't exactly busy either. We did ask a server to take a group photo of our table, and they happily obliged. I'd skip the round of golf and go straight to the restaurant.

So, we ordered it, but what they did not tell us is that it was $22.75 (full price) for two cheeseburgers for a two kids under 6 years old. As a result, this place is NOT kid friendly. Who in the right mind would pay $45.50 for two cheeseburgers for kids with nothing in it besides a patty and cheese? The food was fine, but the service was really bad. We had to ask numerous times for things. We had asked for mayo for the kid's burgers, but it didn't even come with mayo. We had to ask for our cutlery after the food had been dropped off. The waiter said he talked to the manager, but I have doubts as the manager didn't even come by. Would I come back here? No. Really bad service. Not kid friendly. No kids menu. Figuratively, left leaving a really bad taste in my mouth.
