It's a deer path, now turned into a chaotic cement pathway, permanently under construction with lanes narrowed, sometimes unmarked, or suddenly blocked by construction equipment. You score points by avoiding suicidal $9/per hour truck drivers pouring out from their meth sheds in West Fork with overloaded unsafe trucks spewing diesel exhaust. They will try to sandwich you in as they pass you on the left and right. Awwwwww yeah SAHN! Its Mario Brothers on steroids! Let's hope that your 15 gallons of paint (that's the limit!) doesn't spill into a Jackson Pollock abstract, with you smushed in the middle. You will lose all of your eco-karma Super Mushroom Power-ups in addition to $75K for clean-up costs. At last you hit the exit, breathing a deep sigh of relief. Just continue past some nondescript industrial buildings where toxic white bread is manufactured.... possibly from the hazardous materials available nearby. White bread you say? Insanity! Finally, you are there! Princess Peach hands you a clipboard and an ice cold Coors Tallboy. "Congratulations," she says, lifting up her skirt "you made it in one piece." You can only think of one question. "Sup' with those chicken waaaaangs?"

Hugo's, much like Herman's Rib House is a Fayetteville tradition. Since the late 70's Hugo's has…read morebeen serving an eclectic American classic menu ( with some European influences). A well established hangout for Hog Fans especially on game day and you may even run into some Razorbacks legends while you are there. Pros: Consistent, quality food at a reasonable price. Great menu selection from crepes to steaks and everything in between. Cons: Hugo's is a basement restaurant location. This means seating is limited and the wait can be long. The stairs leading down to the restaurant can be hard to navigate if you are physically impaired, and depending on the day or time of the it can get quite noisy. If stairs, togetherness and nosiy spaces are not your thing, then this isn't the establishment for you. Overall, you can't go wrong with the food or hospitality, and if you're a Razorback fan, student, or alumni of the University of Arkansas dining here is a right of passage. Highly recommended Hugo's... come be a part of a Fayetteville tradition!

The place is always busy so prepare for a 30-40 minute wait as we went on a Monday during the summer break and they were still busy around 7pm. The place has been around since 1917??? so everyone wants to try an ole' original while in town. It is in the basement so low ceilings and it is fairly noisy but the place is worth it as it is all part of the nostalgia. Their desserts are worth saving room for. The apple pie and mint ice cream are my favs!!
