If I compare an average greens with Tashua Knolls's greens, I would say it is slightly faster. The fairways are usually pretty wide. This place has a very nice layout being a public course. Tashua Glen: This place mostly relies on your short game skills, with narrow fairways. This place's green are on the slower side, and this is only nine holes. The Glen's scenery is very nice, a walk in the narrow woods, while the Knolls's scenery is more wide open with water. Overall, Tashua Knolls is a very nice place to play!

I would not recommend the corse for a beginner. This corse is for more of a weekend golfer that goes every weekend. The back part rims along the river. You can see boats and it smells like sea water. The clubhouse is great there is a pro shop. They have everything you need and custom tee shirts. They have a restaurant on the second floor that had outdoor seating and looks over the mid of the corse. The manager told me that the AMA and PGA were going to play at the corse a few years back but the officials drew out of the corse because it was extremely difficult. Beautiful setting and an example of "how the other half lives." We were out this way for our…read morenephew's wedding and they had access to and used this spectacular setting for the ceremony and dinner. Since the weather co-operated, you really could not have asked for a better event from start to finish. Redding is about 30 minutes or so north of Norwalk, the time depending on traffic and weather ... usually you can make it a bit faster. The Norwalk location is a good place to stage people if you are coming out here for a large event, because there isn't much hotel space right in Redding and Norwalk is on a train stop. Norwalk is a bit over an hour from La Guardia Airport. You have easy access to Newark also. The food was delicious and served up quickly ... can't be too definitive here since the food was pre-selected for the wedding dinner. Being a larger event, some of the food didn't arrive as hot as one might like, but all was nicely done and prepared. All in all, this made a lovely wedding site, and since the pair getting married had rented buses, everybody made it back to their hotel in Norwalk. If you are ever out this way, try and find someone who'll get you in the club ... I would love to know how the golf is.

The golf shop employees are helpful and gracious. The golf professionals are knowledgeable, assessable and fun to work with. The price for 18 holes is reasonable and if you rent a cart, you can easily experience a 4-hour 15-minute round. Also, don't forget to stop in at the restaurant/bar after your round for food and drink. The staff is terrific, the drinks are cold and the food is outstanding.
