Scheduled service for water heater through American Home Shield on Feb 12 for Feb 19 appointment, all via text (documented). My wife stayed home from work for this appointment and Whitney did not show up. They claimed to have documentation that they spoke to me to reschedule, which is false. This is a water heater problem and I'm not trying to have cold showers. They ghosted the text chain when I tried to reschedule. FYI, don't mess with peoples water heaters. read more

We were referred here through our warranty company because our sewer was backing up into our drain in the basement. The first guy that came out was very nice, did what he needed to do said it was tree roots, made sure it wasn't backing up and left. A week later it happened again he came out did The same thing, then told us it needed to be scoped to see what was going on. took A while to get scheduled with the one guy that did the scoping. Once he came he made 2 personal phone calls and told us it was tree roots and there was a break. He said someone from the office would contact the city to find out where our main sewer line was and would give us a quote. A week goes by and I don't hear back from anyone, so I call the office. They said it would be 24-48 hours to get a quote. I get a quote sent to my email at 12:37am Stating it would be $12,500 with no explanation on why it would be that much. we called the city to see if anyone had contacted them and nope sure didn't ! So of course I call a different company to come out to get a second opinion. They told me we didn't have a break it was just tree roots and it would only be 2,500. That's a BIG difference, it makes me wonder how many people would of just paid that..... read more

At first this company seemed like they were going to be able to get the job done. They sent somebody named Randy out. He got the hot water heater to restart but then didn't do any diagnostic testing as to why it went out in the first place. The water heater went out the next day. I called the company back and let them know what was happening they said that they got me scheduled. Fast forward a week later nobody shows. I called back and get the scheduling guy and he said that he made a mistake and now I will have somebody coming out the following week. This time they sent somebody named Tom out he did the diagnostic testing found the issue said that he put a temporary fix on the water heater and will put in a part order. His temporary fix didn't even last through the night. This is our third week going on without hot water. I tried to call the company to let them know that the temporary fix did not work. I left a voicemail nobody got back to me. I called back the next day and I get a hold of somebody at the service department she said that the manager was in a meeting and that she would call me back. Of course I never got a call back. So I tried to call again, left a voicemail, again nobody returned my call. I use American Home Shield so I got a hold of them and they have emailed the company several times to reach back out to me yet the Whitney holdings company never has returned any of my calls. Do not use this company if you want something fixed in a timely manner or if you want them to be responsive . I made sure that it was put on my account through the American Home Shield company to add a note to never use this company again. You would think that a company would not want to further upset an already upset customer, but they clearly don't care here. read more

Whitney T Holdings was contacted by my American Home Shield insurance to diagnose a faulty/failing hot and cold PRV. I live in a condo and the system is within my unit and therefore my responsibility. This was actually a 2nd opinion, as the initial contractor's technician stated in writing that the valve pressure was high and yet submitted an "opinion" that this was a "pre-existing" condition- pipes make squealing noise- confirmed by building engineer cause- AHS contacted denied????? So, after demanding 2nd opinion- Whitney Holding tech came- diagnosed faulty PRVs based on sounds alone when toilet flushed(cold0 and shower turned on (hot)- never checked with gauge reading, confirmed verbally this was definitely faulty/failing valves( also explained why they fail quicker in Florida( hard water and mineral build up). Upon company's submission of findings to AHS - denied - must be building regulator problem. Again, demanded re-evaluation of issue- same tech returned and again diagnosed problem ( without measurement) and called his report into Whitney immediately- again telling me valves were failing. AHS stated Whitney submitted no mechanical problems with PRVs- in direct contrast to what he told me- neither time , I realized in hindsight, was a workorder filled out or presented to, or signed by, me. Total dishonesty by company- I can only believe that Whitney holding did not want to perform the work ( maybe below par reimbursement by AHS) and disrespected homeowner with false documentation!!! Never returned phone calls as requested for explanations. After reading other reviews, I see I was not the only consumer harmed by this company. Do NOT contract with!!!! read more

Bob and his crew from Whitney are wonderful. I needed a new eyewash and shower station installed at my work, and they did a great job. They were on time, and very friendly. When they discovered my water heater wasn't large enough to produce the amount of water i needed to meet my companies specs, they called in another person, who showed up right away, and from start to finish, it only took two days. VERY VERY Impressed. read more

The people that work for this company are disgusting. The first time they were contracted out under my warranty company, I was on the phone with a woman who kept interrupting me so much I finally had to say can you stop interrupting me and let me tell you my problem. Next day my appointment was canceled. Then my warranty company hire them to come out for another job few months later. Now mind you they like they give you an 8-hour window on when they actually going to show up, but they decided to show up 15 minutes early. My mother, whose house this was, answer the door. Now mind you my mother just got out of the hospital and as she told him what the problem was he decided she didn't know what she was talking about cancel the appointment and left. I was 20 minutes away for an appointment they showed up 15 minutes early for. Had they waited I would have given them a better description of the issue. Had they called me, I would have told them what the problem was. Had they contacted the warranty company and said they had an issue understanding what the call was for, the warranty company would have called me. No, apparently they mistreat elderly people and just leave. Every time I warranty company calls them for a service I will b**** and b**** and b**** till it's moved to another company. read more

I will start with saying that the tech was very nice. And very capable of doing the work (But needs to be more detailed orientated). Beyond that the company as a whole has been very problematic working with. Through a warranty program, they were selected to come out to replace a water heater that went back. It was a long and arduous process of getting things scheduled. Many times rescheduled and many of those late where I had already made arrangements to be there by leaving work early to be available. Once the work was finally completed, when the tech left, he left the water heater because his truck was completely full and he left the area a mess. Did not take the time to clean it up in any way. Now weeks later from the completion of the installation, we are still going back and forth and getting the scheduling runaround to get the old water heater picked up. On top of that, as I have called them multiple times, unable to get to a person on the other end, left voicemails. Long delays (days) before they did make an attempt to call back. I would call back and still never got to a human; always having to leave voicemails. This has been a painstakingly long process and sadly still not done. As they have again pushed off the pickup to a future date. When this might end, who knows. read more

he is worst contractor i have dealt with. i have worked as a property manager for 21 years and never and never ran into a PLUMBER that is so incompetent.my sewer line backed and had sewage all over my basement.they showed up and spent two hours running a snake through all of mw lines and they stated the line from the house to a newer piece of the line.it was eight foot piece of line.i called to schedule a day to have the job done.they stated that they have to wait for miss dig.my yard was was marked off in a timely matter.i then i called the plumber to let them no that was complety done,the lady that works as a scheduler,she stated that she had to turn this to someone and they would call me back the next day.they never called me back so i called the same person and again they must be turned over to someone else and they would contact me the next day.again they never called backed.so again i called her back and i was put on hold for fifteen minutes and then she hung up on me and then i called backed back and they never answered.during all this time i spent $200.00 on a pump and wet vac plus going down in the basement to clean up the sewage which was exremly gross.so far i have put in 20 labor hours.today i called them and read the riot act om their answering machine. when this startet she said i would have to put 50 percent down,$2400.00 tomorrow i will call them again and if they give them one more chance.if im not satisfied i will go to kalamazoo and demand my money back,and if they do not they will see how angery i can get and then i will contact an attorney here in three rivers and file a complaint.they all so owe me me for what i spent and labor. i wish them luck. read more

Overall I'm VERY impressed with Whitney Electric & Plumbing! Brent (Plumber) & Al (Electrician) did a phenomenal job replacing/installing a new water heater, and rewiring our basement & garage. They were both on time and extremely professional. I highly recommend using them! read more

I hate that I even have to give a star for this company. If you need any work done I would make sure you look around and avoid them at all costs. Don't let their professional website fool you. We had them come out and do plumbing and in the process the guy never pulled a permit (we didn't find that out until later) damaged my husbands latter, and our deep freezer. He also left our basement a complete mess. Four days after they "fixed" the problem we started having the same problem. My husband called Shane and he refused to come out and said to call someone else because we might need a camra scope. We did call another company who snaked our drain and cleaned up after themselves and we haven't had a problem since. I called and talked to Tim the owner and explained how unprofessional his plumber Shane was and I asked if he could come out. He never did but said he would get someone out to fix the problem. My husband texted pictures to him and we didn't hear from them for over a month! We called every day and left messages and never got a call back. I ended up having to call the city inspector and that's when we found out that they never pulled a permit and he went ahead and called them. Still never heard from whitneys and had to call the inspector back again. Well another plumber who use to work for Tim came and fixed EVERYTHING that Shane did. Now Tim is trying to get us to pay for the permit. We are in the process of suing them. This is a company to stay FAR away from. read more
