I called them last week for a service and setup an appointment. They called me during the morning of my appointment to let me know they had a couple of emergency AC calls and if I was willing to move mine, which I had no objection at all. Bob came today and he immediately identified a problem with a component which he replaced. He tested both systems (AC and furnace) and in a couple of hours it was all set and done. Poorly. If I could give zero stars I would. The only positive is he was on time. Scheduled an appt to install 2 thermostats. Upon scheduling they I told them I have 2 t9 systems unused, that I wanted a t9 or t10 thermostat and it is fine if they needed to use their own for whatever reason. The owner showed up on time. I informed him of the 2 systems not having the c wire. And that the t9s that I have are the type of system that I want and there is an adapter inside for c wire modification. I then showed him the area where the furnace/zoning is located. He for unclear reasons was investigating and strangely staring at my hot water heaters and boiler system and then said he isn't doing any work here and walked out while having noticeable audible breathing issues while walking. Completely unprofessional without even listening to anything I mentioned earlier to him and also his staff when this was scheduled. I am concerned for his mental health and cognition and am pleased that no service was provided given this. I recommend for extreme caution for anyone who utilized this company. read more

So this one's been a while in coming... A while ago, it became obvious that our furnace was on its last legs- we'd been having lots of problems with it going out from time to time as it was getting colder, and well... heading into the colder months, getting a call in the wee hours of the morning saying the heat's gone out is one of those things most people dread. So we started looking around for a good company to come out and take a look at our furnace to see if they couldn't get it back in good working order- and somehow, thankfully, we decided on the Furnace Guy. The appointment came and Phil showed up, right on time. He went down and took a look and well... to say our furnace was in terrible shape would be an understatement. He told us that while it would be possible to keep pushing it with replacement parts, there was only so much that could accomplish- our system was that old. He recommended an entirely new system- and gave us a great deal with a good long warranty on our new system! Installation was fast and efficient- I don't think they were here more than two days, and they even hauled away the old junk furnace- and gave us a wonderful new digital thermostat that's a whole lot easier to set than the old one! But the most important thing we got was the sense that we had a great new furnace and A/C that wasn't going to die on any night, chilly or humid. This is a company that we would recommend to anybody in their service area- don't worry about calling anybody else, just call up The Furnace Guy and relax. read more

We had an excellent experience with Phil and his crew. I called into their dispatch, when I came home to what smelled like an electrical fire. I ran around the house frantically, trying to find the source as I recently did some DIY electrical work. Turns out my board literally burned up. They had someone out to my house within an hour to take a look. The tech they sent out was knowledgable and quick to help get to the bottom of the problem. I had an old Lennox unit that was installed in 96'. It had seen some better days. My wife and I knew we would eventually need to replace the furnace and AC when we bought the place 5 years ago. The total of the service would have been around $365 for the service call and a $300 replacement board. I want to stress this next part. At no point did I ever feel pushed in a direction or pressured to replace my existing unit. I expressed my reservations to the service tech about pouring $300+ into a unit, only to later have to spend more for further repairs. I asked about a new unit, and he connected us with Phil the president. Phil came out (within an hour btw) and was sympathetic to our plight. He was very knowledgeable in presenting all the different options available to us (he knows his s***). He gave us his honest opinion, but never pushed us in a particular direction. He explained the best bang for our buck and we decided that we would replace the AC and Furnace with the Amana Two Stage Variable Fan option, complete with the Amana Two Stage AC, Humidifier and electronic Aprilaire filter. He even used our existing Nest thermostat and assured us that his company would handle the rebates through Consumers which was in the ballpark of $800+ that went back to us. We took advantage of their financing through a 3rd party with the intent of paying off with another form of credit later. Purchase process was easy and we were set up for the install within a day or so. The install crew was top notch! They came in, installed both the AC and Heater within 1.5 days. I honestly think they would have gotten it done in a day if they had the AC unit on hand. They were efficient, friendly and cleaned up after themselves. The units is beautiful (as beautiful as a heater can be, lol) and it the setup was flawless. We will definitely be following up with them for a yearly checkup/tuneup. I can't say enough about the professionalism and transparency of The Furnace Guys. Love the new furnace and the benefits of the package Phil helped us pick out. If you are in the market, they took care of us. I'm sure they'll take care of you. read more

I have had this company in the past repair Furness. I needed a new heat exchanger, Quote was $600. He wanted to sell me a $4000 new Furness. I told him that all I wanted was just the heat exchanger because most of the parts were new. On his return, the price went to $750. when he was done, no thank you, not have a nice day, just took my money and walked out. very rude and nasty. not to mention would not answer my question. The owner, Phil, came out to our house the week of the June 2011 heat wave & was able to get his crew in to set & install a new central AC unit before the worst of the 90's hit. When the condensate pump failed, he came out and replaced it the next day at no charge. Phil was quick to reply, very considerate, and an absolute pleasure to do business with. The absolute worst! The owner is rude and incompetent. His installers were amateurs. Improperly installed central A/C system. Made a total mess of my home in the process. They did not stand behind their product or service. Misdiagnosed problems with their faulty installation and charged me for repairs that never fixed the problem. System still does not work. Professional HVAC people came from another company today, correctly diagnosed the problem and are now fixing it correctly. STAY AWAY FROM THE FURNACE GUY! read more

I had an issue with my hot water heater. Phil talked to me over the phone and gave me several suggestions on what the problem might be. He was absolutely spot on. Instead of making a house call on the weekend, and charging me for that service, he used his expertise and fixed the problem, at no cost to me. I had a new A/C unit and condenser installed. The nice, calm and very business like gentleman that came ro give me an estimate, had to deal with my condo neighbor, because the lines run through her condo. She was not very nice, but he remained professional. He explained to me the cold air return needed to be reducted into the furnance. Because it was done very poorly in 2009 before I bought the condo. They did a great job and the 3 guys thst were here had no problems with my neighbor either. A couple days after they left I had to use the A/C, the amount of air flow was increased by 20-30+% as a result of the reducting the cold. Great job! Thank you read more

I had my air conditioning/ furnace go out due to a power surge from a storm. My neighbor recommended the Furnace Guy and I am glad they did. They said they could come out the same day, on a Sunday, but if I could wait until a week day it would be much cheaper. I waited, and they came out the next day, They were there when they said, and fixed the problem within 30 minutes. The men were professional, friendly and well informed. They explained to me that my transformer in the unit had blown, and even had the part on their truck. They had it replaced quickly and efficiently and after checking that everything worked properly, they were out in less than an hour. What a great company, much cheaper than Belair, and the same or better quality service. Thanks Furnace guy, I will definitely be calling again when I need you! Hopefully not soon though. read more
