I had tried the Hawaiian Luau which was with coconut, pineapple,banana and macadamia. And oh my goodness so rich and creamy. It was delicious! The cashier gave such a generous portion it topples over. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The place was nothing fancy. Super casual with a few tables and chairs. Have been to pretty much every Jax location a couple times. Ice cream is always great, facilities very clean, and service is fast. I rarely like to eat in at ice cream shops, but we do at Whit's because it feels welcoming and clean. Staff is always trained and polite. This past visit at this location was around the holidays. While eating at their indoor tables, it seemed one of the two young ladies on duty was making the other one do all the work. Best of luck to the hard worker, and hopefully management will take a closer look at the Barbie who makes it look like she's working but bullies her co-worker into doing everything. read more

We've been to the Whit's in AB but prefer this location because parking is MUCH easier! I love trying all of Whit's different daily flavors and we try to make it out for ice cream once a month with our little guy. I also love that they do pup cups for our furry friends. You can also get their items to go if needed! They also have a freezer with some pre-mixed flavors which I love so that you can always scratch your ice cream itch. The behavior of the staff exhibited inattentiveness and distraction. Terrible experience and we won't be back. I did ask for a mix of chocolate and vanilla ice cream and they didn't give me that, but no big deal my ice cream still tasted good. I got oreo cheesecake and it hit the spot. Whit's Frozen Custard came highly recommended to me by two different friends and it did not disappoint. What was interesting was that it's a harder and creamier custard than I'm used to. At least up in the northeast, custard or soft serve is lighter, airier, and you can eat it in about 3 minutes. With this custard though it was very creamy, thick, and had a richer flavor. We ate the ice cream outside in the 90+ degree weather and it still took me about 10-15 mins to eat it because it stayed cold and intact. The day we went it was s'mores. I didn't think I would like it because I felt it might be over the top, but we were given a sample and it was delicious! I went with a mini hot fudge sundae. I added a little salted caramel, walnuts and pecans, with a little dollop of whipped cream on top. The flavor of the vanilla custard was delicious. It was smooth and creamy but not too sweet. The toppings were all so yummy! From the hot fudge to the salted caramel and nuts....I loved it! And for a mini size it was perfect! I only wasted a few bites. This is my favorite ice cream shop in Jacksonville. Each day they have a special creation which is posted on their Instagram as well as chocolate and vanilla flavors. This visit I was a bit disappointed. Somehow they forgot my order. I stood there for 10+ minutes and nobody noticed I didn't receive anything, despite the 15 people after me getting their order. Once I notified them they immediately made my order. The chocolate ice cream was a tad melted this trip. You only need to worry about that during their busy times. They do have limited outside seating. The outside seating is dog friendly. They have a daily custom flavor ice cream. They have the calender for the months flavors on their web page and in their location. The ice cream has a nice taste. I love frozen custard so when I saw that I was close to Whit's recently, I dropped by to check them out. They have two flavors - vanilla and chocolate - which they use for all of their concoctions. On the day that I visited, the daily flavor was thin mint, which was vanilla custard with a hint of mint flavoring and a few pieces of chocolate. It was a fairly unexciting sample. I also tasted their "try me" red velvet bites. I ultimately went with Hawaiian lu'au - banana, coconut, macadamia nuts, and pineapple. I got it topped versus mixed with vanilla custard. It's hard to go wrong with frozen custard and this was no exception. My treat was refreshing and filling.
