They offer a sample of their brisket. It is important that you say yes. :-) I got the 3 meat and side option. Around $30. Ribs - fall off the bone good. No sauce needed. Pork - excellent. Very smoky. Was very disappointed. Pulled pork was dry and stringy and not smoky at all. Barbecue beans taste tasted like they came out of a can. Portion sizes were very small. For some reason, they delivered mine in a takeout container. They offered to put it on a plate after they gave it to me, but I was hungry so I said it's OK. Will not be returning. BBQ is delicious! Brisket is their crown jewel of meats in my opinion. Yum Yum and Yum!!! There is turkey, there are wings, burnt ends, pork and extra tasty sides. Mac and cheese was our favorite side, extra cheesy with a heavy crust of cheese then we loved the baked beans. Sunday has fried chicken, was nice to find BBQ spot for a Sunday visit. Smitty's is still home to the best brisket I've ever enjoyed, and their wings, pulled pork, and chicken are exquisitely enjoyable. Service is incredibly personal and fast. They're chopped brisket with sauce - clarified with the staff and showed the picture they have one their menu which is different from what is served. It was the least favorite thing we ordered. The sweet potato crunch was delicious, as was the mac and cheese. The sliced brisket was moist and tender. We ended the meal with the peach cobbler and it was runny and undercooked. Waited almost an hour for food because the kitchen made a mistake and decided to just not make our food instead of double checking. Was checked on several times for drinks but it wasn't odd to the staff we hadn't gotten our food. Owner tried to make up for it but no real consolation. Very expensive for the amount of food we got. It could have been a lot better. It was a very clean facility. I thought the service and friendliness were great but the food could use some ummph! The pulled pork had little flavor or no flavor, very stringy, and the brisket baked beans I think were Van Camps with a piece of brisket thrown in, the coleslaw was just OK. I wasn't sure what to think of the Bar-B-Q Sauces as I have had a lot better (Too Watery). The hamburger buns were the best part. The portions were small as I think Gandhi ate more than the servings I received. I thought for what you got prices were way overpriced. O yes, and the Sweet Ice Tea was good. i will not try this place again, first the smokin BBQ is not smoked, mine was dry ,cool and pretty tasteless. The soul food lost its soul.. the baked beans were NOT baked they came straight out of a can , and the meat in them was not cooked into the beans ,just mixed in and heated. The collard greens were not even wilted and had no ham or anything mixed with them , and the fried okra was not rolled in buttermilk and egg and then dipped in cornmeal flour like mama soul would cook ,they looked like frozen prebreaded okra dumped out of a bag, into a deep frier, if i had not seen the picture of the family i would have swore it was ran by white city folks in new jersey that knew nothing about ,good ole southern soul food . the food was mediocre at best ,i wish we had some good southern soul food in this area , but smittys is not it.. read more

I stopped by Smitty's Smokin Soulfood today. They're open Thursday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. I went at lunch time, and there was a nice crowd. You can dine in, call in or order at the front. I ordered the sliced smoked brisket 2 slices that are weighed on a scale, green beans and mac and cheese. The smoked brisket was ok, it was not melt in your mouth tender, and not as good as my brother's smoked brisket, but it was ok. The green beans were seasoned well, I didn't have to add anything to doctor them up. The mac and cheese had ALL the cheese melted on top and none actually in the mac and cheese. When restaurants say "homemade or soulfood " I expect it to be as good as what I can cook or better, this mac and cheese was not. All in all the food was only ok to me, but not "I gotta go back good". At $19.00 and some change I ate my first meal from Smitty's Smokin Soulfood. read more

First time visit. We all got the AYCE Wings. Flavor, amount of meat and texture were 5 stars. The only thing that kept them from being A+ was that all the wings we got were overcooked and dry. Cook the wings a bit less and 5/5 easy. Service could have been better. Especially since there were only 3 groups in the establishment including ours. Had to flag staff down for additional orders of our wings and refills on drinks, which was a bit of a disappointment seeing no one was in line and again, only 3 groups in the restaurant at the time. I tried this place for the first time on Friday. The ribs are superb. Very well done. Best ribs I've had in a restaurant in years. They don't even need sauce. The service is fantastic and the restaurant is spotless. The baked beans were excellent. The not good: The brisket was dry. The burnt ends were not good at all. Greasy and not actually burnt. They tasted like nothing. The collards had smoked turkey in them. That would be a nice touch, but it was over done. They just tasted like turkey. I would like to try their pulled pork.
