I've been coming here for 14 years, it's always been great. Under the newer management over the past something years (not sure exactly how long), it's gotten even better. The place is always clean, and the food has seriously stepped up, everything is homemade, high quality, and far from your typical bar food. No frozen, reheated meals here. Most bars with a similar vibe serve overly sweet, premixed cocktails that are either way too strong or watered down. Not here. The drinks are balanced and well made every time. The staff has always been friendly and genuinely seems to enjoy being here, you can tell they care about each other, the customers, and their work. The owner is often seen walking around, greeting guests and jumping in to support the team whenever needed. The overall look of the place hasn't changed much, and honestly, it doesn't need to. Their focus is clearly on what really matters: cleanliness, quality food, and solid service. This is one of those rare spots where you can count on having a good time, every time. read more

In the Gresham breakfast discussion, they have delicious big fluffy pancakes - certainly have to be considered as some of the best in town. Ham steaks are delicious & generous. Food is pretty decent if you're willing to wait over an hour even in a non busy mid week day. Orders are constantly messed up, and when they do mess up They will say "should be just 5 minutes" then proceed to bring it out 45 minutes later while everyone is done eating. I have eaten here pretty often with my family for a few years now and the service has done nothing but plummeted. Gonna start going to other places but I really hope they figure it out. read more

I read somewhere that this place had the best salads in town so I had to try it out. Now...the outside looks super sketchy but I promise it will be worth it. I had the Cobb salad and it was massive. Three strikes, we're out (for good). The food selection is good - typical pub/bar food. The ambience is also a typical bar/pub with great placement of the tv's for sports viewing. It's the service that we continued to find lacking, to the point of not going back. We used to go regularly and things were fine enough to sit and watch a game or nascar race. Then the service started dropping off, big time and we stopped going. Went back after a few months and nothing had changed. Our regular place was packed this week and we decided to give Puff's one last try. Nope, service was still horrible - had the same server, Megan, who is rude and in too big of a hurry to engage and attempt to build any rapport. It's too bad because it is a convenient location. We love everything about this pub. It all starts with the parking. There's plenty of it, so no worries there. There's plenty of space inside as well, so one feels welcomed which is exactly what happens when you walk in no matter who greets you. Then there's plenty of smiles when you are at your table no matter who the server is. In addition, they have heated outdoor space. Having said all that, the food is crazy good and keeps wanting me to go back there. The portions are large and the price is reasonable without sacrificing the taste. No really everything we have tried so far has been really really good. No matter what ones beer taste is, you will find a drink to enjoy with your meal. What! EDIT: I went back a few days later, this time during traditional breakfast hours. I tried their biscuits and gravy with coffee, my wife had The Breakfast Basics with coffee. I've upgraded the review from 2 stars to 4 stars as the breakfast was solid, diner fare. Nothing fancy, just fill you up breakfast food. Expectations were met with reality. I would definitely go back to try their chicken fried steak and I'm looking forward to having some of the bacon wrapped tots. ________________________________________________________________________________ Let's start off with that my expectations were pretty low before I ever walked in. Now onto the review... It was lunch time, 12:00 PM to be exact, when I walked in. I noticed that they serve breakfast until 2:00 PM. I also noticed that they have biscuits and gravy on the menu. I was looking forward to trying them, but was told they ran out of biscuits. I switched gears and ordered an unsweetened iced tea and an order of their steak bites. The "tea" was HORRIBLE. It was very bitter and tasted like the person in charge of making the tea just dumped a handful of bags into some old dishwater and called it good. Yeah, it was that bad. The steak bites were pretty good. Cooked to the appropriate level (your choice) and a side of horseradish and some other brown sauce. Its a bar. You seat yourself. I get it. What I don't understand are dirty tables. The table I sat at was dirty, but I figured that when the server came over with my food she'd notice the mess and clean it up. Another worker also came by to ask if I'd placed a food order - again, didn't notice or even acknowledge the mess on the table. I'm not sure if its nostalgia that the patrons are chasing or what the exact pull is, but I'm determined to figure it out. So this was totally the best bar we stopped in while on vacation. We came in a couple of times and Portia gave us awesome food and drink service. A 6-pack of Bud Light and 4 shots of Jameson, plus a terrific Caeser salad, a delicious burger with fries, and a side order of onion rings... all for about $60! Very good. They have pool tables and we noticed staff constantly walking around to clean up empty glasses. One of my girlfriends invited me out here to celebrate her birthday. The last time I was here was idk, 6 years ago maybe. It was a bit seedy as I remember but then again it's Gresham, not exactly the holiest of cities to begin with, right? Ok, so I get the invite and immediately respond by saying yes, of course I'm coming to your bday thing....but you sure you don't wanna go to another bar where we are less likely to be shot? She laughed but I mean, there's some truth there. Anyway, I showed up like the good friend I am. It's almost 10pm by the time I arrive. I pulled into the parking lot and immediately felt better -- new condos had sprung up next door, the parking lot looked nice, the exterior of the building looked bright and clean. Fantastic. I find parking (there is plenty of it) and make my way inside where I greet my friends and meander over to the bar. There is a little bit of line and it moves a little slow but I see that the bartender is patiently taking care of a group in front of me. They all stand there passing their drinks around, sipping and tasting one another's concoctions, nodding in approval or "hmmm"-ing non-decidedly. They talk to the bartender again, he does a little this or that, and eventually, they take their drinks and walk away satisfied. It's my turn, the bartender greets me "What can I get started for you, Miss?" I order a beer and Buffalo Trace on the rocks. He "accidentally" pours heavy ;) oh my, whatever will I do with this full glass of whiskey. The night goes on, everyone is having a blast. I can't speak to the food but from what I saw, people enjoyed their meals. One friend had a delicious looking sandwich that disappeared within minutes of it being delivered. Another friend had a mountain of tots covered in all the fixings. I stuck with beer (Hefe, mmm) but I saw the drinks going round and round, and people were happy. Upon my returns to the bar, the bartender addresses me by name which is pretty incredible considering it was busy in there. His excellent service is one of the reasons for my rating and one of the reasons I'll return to try some cocktails and menu items! Thanks Ricardo, you are awesome. This is our favorite spot in the Fairview area. We moved here 3 mos ago and have explored everywhere within 10 minutes and Puff's has it all! Friendly, fast staff. Great specialty drinks. Cheap well prices. We absolutely love the food and have made lots of friends here. I heard they're under new management and they deserve big ups for making this a wonderful place to blow off some steam. Poor service... not anybody's fault but the owner's . This morning the pub which is popular for good prices was Father's Day. The wait staff are expected to bus their own table, take orders, serve food, fill coffee and drinks and seat the customers. Countless customers who were jammed in the doorway left as we watched the wait staff basically run from table to table trying to do everything but cook. we waited about 25 minutes to be seated because the wait staff couldn't get to the dirty tables to seat us and we were at the back of the long line squished in the doorway.. my husband asked to see the owner to complain but alas it was his day off. Probably celebrating Father's Day. The wait staff are so apologetic and cheerful despite the lack of any kind of support. Hire at least one person to bus the tables. Give your waiters a big raise. Ordered food. Waited 1 hour and it still was "almost ready". Had a sprite. We paid for the sprite and left. We did notice that being that the waitress was new (she told us that), her orders came out late. 3 other waitresses got their tables order and they all got there well after us. Being that I had worked in many "small town" bars/pubs before, I knew that the cooks were making sure the other waitresses got their tables food first. To see 3 tables get their food first and leave before us when they came in after us, was irritating but glad it happened so I know to never go there or recommend that place ever. read more

Hands-down the worst service from both of these employees the blonde server working tonight was beyond rude! They have delicious happy hour drinks and strong wells. Their customer service was great and our food came out quickly! Talking with friends up at the bar while we waited for drinks and waited to pay our tab for about 30 minutes. My happy hour was 1/3 the size since my last review. Worst bar I've ever been to, i wish I could leave a 0 star, I came to this bar with two friends, my friend ordered a margarita that was way over sweetened, the bartender Mike refused to remake a simple drink or even give a refund, he tried the drink himself and kept sipping out of it while saying that it was good for him. The blonde short hair server/bartender rushed to our table demanded us to leave and took all of our unfinished drinks just because they were asked to remake a drink. I have never been to a business that treats people so poorly we were so kind and we all left tips for them after they made our drinks, so we don't understand why they had such bad attitudes towards us, please do not go there if you wanna be harassed by the workers. read more

Don't go here if you disabled. The restrooms are not disability friendly. Also when my husband told the bartender about the fact he was unable to access the bathroom due to the doorway being too narrow for his wheelchair, the bartender told him " your kind has been in here before and never had complaints about it" That statement is completely discriminatory. It's great service and great food but came in earlier this week with my mother. ordered a sandwich which was huge. Usually a great blessing but when I tried to eat it it just fell apart due to the rye bread being old. It's so frustrating to want a sandwich and just to eat the meat and cheese as everything was on the plate in crumbles. The onion was so thick that it made th sandwich even thicker so I went to the second half took off bread and took home the meat and cheese. Told the waiter but not sure he let the cooks know.
