Disclaimer: I'm visiting Myrtle beach from Dallas and am comparing it to most places there. Nice environment. Overpriced. Okay food. We had the salmon sashimi, Samari roll, and rainbow roll. The sushi was more expensive than most places in Dallas and not as good. The area of the inlet is pretty unique and this place sits right on the water, so that was fun. The parking was okay because we were going to Wicked Tuna, which has a parking lot. I would probably not return here, but would say come here if you're going to the inlet and want to go to a nicer restaurant. The food isn't amazing, but the environment is cool. If you're okay with a more chill environment with good food then I would recommend exploring the other inlet restaurants more. read more

What a nice stop. We had a couple drinks and an appetizer of half pound steamed shrimp seasoned with old bay. It was not overly seasoned and the shrimp were nice sized. Delicious! My Upside Down Pineapple cocktail was extemely light on alcohol and priced too high for what I received. I'd have given 5 stars otherwise. We sat outside at the Tuna Shak. Yes for me. It is on the pricier side, but you'll get a beautiful view with it. The staff were nice and invited us inside from our outdoor table when they assumed it would start raining. They have a large margarita selection. All of the food was delicious. Definitely top pick on the strip if you're looking for sushi. They also show you an array of model desserts if you inquire which is nice because you can imagine what they'll come out as and it's more likely you're going to order one if you can see it in real life. Also make a reservation, especially in the warmer months. Tourist central station. In addition, make sure you're taking a photo of the number to text for parking validation. They recently changed their lot rules, don't take it out on the staff, it wasn't their choice. Upon arrival (we had reservations and were on time) the entryway to the restaurant was extremely crowded. The host staff seemed a little overwhelmed bc I approached them after waiting for about 6-7 minutes and mentioned I had a reservation when she looked up at me. The young woman put her hand up to me as if to say "hold on". So we did. We waited at least another 10 minutes to be seated. Once seated, our server (a nice guy) greeted us. Overall, he was a little slow to ensure our drinks stayed filled. Great ambiance and even better food. Will return as long as they seat us promptly when we have taken the time to make reservations and arrive on time!! Suggestion: have host staff call out for people who have reservations to step to the side so they can address our needs asap. read more

I like craft beers & wanted to taste a few before I decided on one & she brought several for me with no issues & was very attentive the whole time we were there. The food also was good, I had the mixed seafood grill & it was delish. She had the grilled scallops which she liked a lot. The prices are a little high but not outrageous. The atmosphere was really nice except... We ate here on Sat night of Labor Day & the place was REALLY busy. But we got seated in about 15, no big deal. They're tossed in a spicy mayo and szechuan sauce and I admittedly ate most of them. I got the shrimp and grits, which were really good! I couldn't eat all of it, so I took the rest home. The food was good, but we felt very nickeled and dimed, so be prepared! My son ordered a filet mignon, but wanted to substitute French fries in place of the mashed potatoes. Our waitress, Tessa, said that because they portion everything we could not do any substitutes. We would have to order the fries as a side order. I graduated from college in Hospitality Management and am pretty sure mashed potatoes are more expensive and labor intensive than French fries, so this makes no sense. At $42 for the entree, i would think we could substitute fries for the mashed potatoes. Then we asked if they served bread? Tessa said they do not, but if we ordered the hummus it comes with naan bread for $14. We passed! I ordered the Tuna tar tar that was accompanied by won ton chips. I asked if I could have a few extra chips with my tar tar and she said that that would also be an extra charge. We again passed. We were then approached by a photographer who said the photos would be complimentary. Once printed, only the small picture on the restaurant logo'd print was comp. There was a charge for other photos., but it didn't end there. We were presented with the bill and were told because we were a party of 6 we were charged an automatic gratuity. Last time I checked, it's usually a party of 8 or more that a gratuity is added. Needless to say, we will not be returning to your restaurant because we found you very inflexible and felt you just wanted extra money at every turn. read more

Beautiful views in a great area but that's about it. You will pay $24 for the worlds smallest sushi roll which is basically worse than supermarket sushi. They have some weird parking validation thing going on and the staff all seem either bored or uninterested. I'm a tourist to this area and I was super surprised by all of the tacked on taxes, hospitality fees, alcohol and food fees, beer fees, etc etc, when the food is super overpriced and the service is subpar it really makes these extra fees seem over the top. Waitress needs an attitude adjustment Ordered dinner with the entire table. Everyone's food came to the table 30 minutes later, sushi still did not arrive. The table next to us arrived 20 minutes after us and ordered after us and they had their sushi 10 minutes after being there. They took it off the bill and the manger was great. My family came here for lunch while on vacation last week. We ordered miso soups and a few sushi rolls. The rolls were fine but the service was below average. We placed an order for fried cauliflower as an appetizer and it didn't come out with our soups so we asked the waitress to cancel that order. I rarely ever give one star reviews. But I feel that Wicked Tuna has earned this honor for being a super shady establishment. We made a trip down to Murrells Inlet for lunch while on vacation to have at The Wicked Tuna because several friends recommended it. The menu looked amazing. I was torn between two options and when I asked the waitress which one she preferred, she suggested the special. It sounded lovely so I went with her suggestion. At no point did she tell me that the special was $45. Remember, this was lunch time and the two options I asked her about were around $20 each. The special was good, and I really enjoyed it. But it wasn't $45 good. I'll be honest- I never order $45 dishes, ever. We love to eat out, but I just can't justify spending that much on a meal. Which is why it feels to me like it would have been appropriate for our server to disclose this when describing it. Side note: my hubby ordered a burger medium rare and it arrived well done. When the server brought our bill, I was shocked by two things: - The $45 "special" - A 20% gratuity has already been added to the bill because we had a party of 6. ( our party had 4 adults and two children under 10) So not only did this server up sell me and more than doubled what I was planning to spend on my LUNCH, she gave herself a nice tip on this overpriced LUNCH. I felt scammed to say the least. My advice: go to wicked tuna expecting a good meal, but be sure to ask the price before agreeing to order anything not on the menu. read more

My girlfriend and I moseyed over to enjoy the back deck and marsh walk for lunch while we waited for the rest of the family to come. We loved the back deck view and oversized bar. Our bartender was Adam and he was very friendly and helpful with our initial orders. Got a bottle of Pinot Grigio and the mussels to start off with. Easily the best Mussels I've had in years with a great tomato base and a very generous portion. No disappointment here. For our entree's we order the spicy salmon and tuna tempura rolls. They were very generous on the rice and tempura, but could have been a little more generous with the fish. Nonetheless, very tasty and satisfying. Loved the atmosphere as a whole and the food and environment will definitely bring us back. My only issue was that at noon in the middle of the summer they only staffed one bartender. Wherein Adam was super friendly and helpful to begin the experience, he wound up serving a room of nearly 30 people (6-top, 4 2-tops, and a full bar).
