Hubby and I had the crab cakes which were perfect-great lumps of crab and a delicious sauce. The kids ate sushi and ordered another round, they loved it so much. Went on our last night in the area. Service was very good. Food was ok. My son had 2 sushi rolls. He truly enjoyed them. I thought they were ok. Wife had shrimp alfredo pasta. Again ok. I had the fried seafood platter. It had a decent amount of food and all had a fresh taste. Their fries were quite interesting. For the price this should have been an out of this world experience but was just ok. I meant to convey to the waitress that we found a hair in each of 2 dishes from the hot kitchen. Located in what could be considered the restaurant district of Myrtle Beach along Murrell's Inlet, Wicked Tuna is a stand-out bright blue building set far back from the road. I found the exterior to be attractive, but the interior was downright gorgeous. A totally unexpected and classy look for a beachfront shack. Upon entering, there is a sculpture of a swirling mass of fish hanging from the ceiling that is just beautiful. Looking around you will be impressive with the sophisticated beach atmosphere. The sitting area at the sushi bar has an illuminated blue counter top that is mesmerizing. The drinks bar also has a pail blue illuminated knee wall that adds a lovely ambiance. The patio is gorgeous in the day and especially @ night. Still, I was unsure if the food would be worth the prices on the menu. I didn't want to spend $150 feeding my family and not enjoy my meal, so we decided to order a round of calamari (our favorite appetizer) to go. It was served with a remoulade sauce and I must say it was quite delicious ($12). I thought to myself: If this is any indication of the food served here then I am truly a fan. We walked around the inlet checking out all of the restaurants as well as the beautiful pier and settled on a place with a more kid friendly menu. But my mind kept returning to Wicked Tuna. FINAL THOUGHTS It honestly was out of our budget since this was the beginning of our 3 week road trip from Atlanta to Maine and we didn't want to blow our entire food expense on the front end of our trip. But after such delicious calamari, we returned to share a plate of their Seafood Sampler. At this restaurant we had a reservation for 730 and didn't even get notified that we had a table till 8, they told us 3 minutes but it actually took 10. The service was terrible and we didn't get seated till 810. They had us waiting in the front of the restaurant for 40 minutes waiting just sitting there till our table was ready. read more

Went with our family a few days ago, large group and servers were the best part. 3 of us had salads with upcharge for chicken, 2 drinks. Had to ask for Caesars dressing as the salads came dry ??. View was beautiful and the band was loud enough to drown out conversations. Can't get happy hour outside so we had to go inside if we wanted to drink and save a few bucks. Total bill for 3 salads and 2 drinks was 104.00. After special taxes and tip it came to 140.00. If you have lots of resources, this is your place. PS, 5 members who ate there got ill later that night. They all ate some sort of Sushi. Don't know if it was a coincidence or not. read more

The decor is nice here, but it's your typical overhyped tourist restaurant. Our food took FOREVER (like an hour and 15 minutes) for our appetizers, and then they delivered the wrong items. Dinner was OK, but really overpriced for what you get. Fish portions were tiny, the "add on" crab cake was bite-sized. Most meals only came with either some meh rice or a dish of fried potatoes. For $30-$40 an entree, it should be bigger, more diverse and more filling. It was clearly a rough night for the restaurant for many other reasons (like someone vomiting in the women's room, which still smelled of puke long after it was cleaned), but I'd never go back. We used to live in murrels inlet a few years ago and our favorite place was wicked tuna. At that time they had amazing seafood. It was even better during the fall and winter when all the tourists were gone and we would get to enjoy great seafood in a beautiful, quiet setting. Well, we just visited the area this weekend and decided to go to our old spot....and how things have changed! I ordered the ocean side, their special for the night, it was $45. The fish was tasteless, rubbery and did not look appetizing at all. It came with a cauliflower cream with steamed vegetables on top. The whole thing looked like it was microwaved. In fact, the server said my plate was hot when he brought it out,which makes me think that it may have been microwaved. The wife got catch of the day sandwich. The catch of the day was grouper. The fish on her sandwich was also bland and rubbery. My daughter, who is 4, had the best meal. She chose the fish bites off the kids menu. The fish bites were tasty and very flakey. The piece of fish would melt in your mouth. It came with a nice serving of fries. We come to the murrels inlet area rather often. Unfortunately, we will not be dining at this spot. read more

As I walked out of this place the other night when we had our dinner a family walking in asked what we thought of the place and should they go in. I'll tell you all exactly what I told him (and more). I was a walking Yelp review that night. Here we go. So Wicked Tuna is a cool looking place right along the water down in Murrels Inlet. We always wanted to try it. They have great outdoor seating, a nice looking cocktail menu, sushi, and live music. They get the seafood fresh right off of the boats. What more could you ask for? Well...I don't know.. I guess I was looking for more. When we arrived we were seated immediately outside as we requested. The view of the marsh and the houses were gorgeous. This was going to be a fun night. The server came up and took our drink orders and explained the concept of the restaurant. I decided to try a cocktail and I chose the Creekwater ($11) it intrigued me being Titos vodka with a blue cheese stuffed olive frozen in an olive juice ice cube. Pretty much a twist on a dirty martini. I thought it was lovely. But I feel like it could have been a better pour for the price. Maybe an actual dirty martini would have been the way to go. I don't know but it was tasty regardless. For our appetizer we shared a tuna crunch roll ($18). It was spicy, fresh, and very tasty. However, $18 for a small roll is a lot but then again we're in a tourist area sooo. My kids wanting to be cool and choosing this meal to not order off the kids meal told me they wanted crab legs and a sushi roll. Okay so I asked about the crab leg meal for $25 and it pretty much was a cluster and I was told to add a "side" of them to my meal for $15 was the same portion so I did that for my son. Well it was LITERALLY a cluster and a small one. The server tried to upcharge me to a king crab leg, (1 for $19) and I am glad I didn't do that because I saw the table next to me do that and that "king" leg didn't look that big. So my son left hungry. I should have known better. He would have been better off with a kids meal on a frisbee. So here's what kind of irked me. I ordered the grouper which the server noted was a "fine" choice. My husband ordered a grilled seafood platter. My grouper was $32 and my husband's was $34. I didn't think much of this until I saw our plates coming out looking identical except his had scallops, crabcake, and shrimp along with...GROUPER. Now this isn't anyone's fault really but my own but for $2 more he got exactly what I got and 3 additional seafood portions! I asked the server about this pricing cause it seemed like I got the short end of this stick. He said mine was cheaper because I didn't have the extra seafood. And I said well yeah but its $2! (Note I wasn't being a complaining guest I was making conversation with him hoping he could relate or empathize with my plight) he just kind of shrugged at me and ran off. Literally ran off. And we didn't see much of him the rest of the night. Well I then began to continue to feel sour because my fish was decent, but it was a small portion and I paid so much for it and then across the way my husband had more food for $2 more. Anyway I got over it and it was on to dessert. Well they do this whole presentation and the desserts looked fabulous. But our server disappeared at this point and when he reappeared he told us there were 2 tables ahead of us for the dessert presentation. I told him we were good and that we'd take the check. He went over to the dessert girl and told her and as he pointed our way she gave a look of shock like he told her something scandalous about us. So $150 later the 4 of us left hungry and headed to krispy kreme for our $12 hot dozen that we ate for the next 3 days. I am not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but I like to feel like what I get is worth the money. Experience factors in here too. I don't feel that way with it here and with the service kind of lacking at the end I don't feel the need to return. There are plenty of other good seafood joints in the area that I really enjoy and frequent. No loss on my part. That tuna is wicked. Wicked to my wallet and my dignity lol read more

We have been avid customer here for years. We come all year round. Tonight we had to do this crazy and difficult parking thing. Something went wrong and when we came out our was had a bout on it. There was supposed to a person in a golf cart driving around. He was nowhere to be found. It cost a 190.00 dollars. So much for being Loyal. It is not worth coming here now. Plus, the had to get up and go to the bar and ask for the things. The waitress too busy with other tables. She was quick to come around with the bill though. It is very sad because we used to tell people how great it was here. Now we will never set foot here again or tell another person to go. As a matter of fact. I will tell any one I know willing to pay these kind of prices. Not to go. Not one person inside the restaurant who knows that we come there all the time was not willing to help us. Don't go there it is not worth it. Food is over priced and apparently there is no customer service. The manager who helped me do the parking ticket. Because it is so complicated you can't figure it out. Wouldn't even talk to me. read more

Second time visiting Wicked Tuna. The first time the food and the drinks were great but the lack of service was big. Took a loooong time for someone to acknowledge us and finally we waiver a waiter down and then the food was great. But that service still was slacking. 2nd time..(6/15 @ 3pm). Made reservations, thinking it would be better ...3pm reservations ....walked in asked if we made reservations in the half empty restaurant. Yes we did... Then we were seated.... And I watched probably 3 servers walk by us for at least 15 min... And then witnessed a conversation by two servers about who's table it was and seemed like neither wanted our table of 6. Wierd flex but ok....finally we got our server she was mediocre at best....very fast and uninviting . I could see if the place was crowded , I would cut a lil slack buy it's 3pm and place is literally empty tables everywhere. Missed my mother in law's order completely...all good , everyone makes a mistake. Then the food came out ... And it was ok at best... My $36 grilled grouper was a flat cut tiny piece of grouper and my father in law had same meal with a better portion but still taste wise just ok . My beer glass was empty for my entire meal....but I was never asked if I wanted another drink. I can deal with lack of service if the food is on point. But you can't have subpar meals AND lack of service AND charge $36 grouper and items our expensive as hell. Not a good look. Price is never an issue but quality of food and service will always be the top tier for voting for me. Grouper bites were tough and grouper entrees were subpar. Wicked Tuna needs to truly step up their staff training ... The lack of attention to detail in what SHOULD be an amazing restaurant with an amazing view is so off the mark it's sad. Love this place so much. The service is just as amazing as their food is. The view from their patio is great and the overall atmosphere of the place is much better than most places in Murrells inlet. It is somewhat pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. I did however try their baked Alaska for dessert and thought it was terrible, but that's just me. read more

Mashed potato's and grouper are the best i've had in Myrtle beach. Service was great. But the martini wasn't very good

Came here on the recommendation of a coworker. We're glad we did. Came in on a Wednesday night around 6:30; we were seated without any wait. (Love restaurants during the off-season.) Our server recommended the Dragon Egg appetizer, which is an avocado stuffed with a creamy mixture of smoked salmon, spicy crab, and other good stuff, then tempura-battered and fried, served on a bed of sweet potato strings. Sounds ridiculous, tasted amazing. We also got the Avocado Spring Roll, which was very good as well. I was in the mood for some good sushi, so I ordered the Nigiri Sushi Platter. I noticed several specialty rolls that looked pretty appetizing, but I wanted to check the freshness of the fish, so I went with something clean and simple. Wicked Tuna didn't disappoint. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered a two-piece of uni (urchin) that I noticed on the Chef's Specials before I was even done with the platter. My dining companion ordered a Ginger Salad and a Stuffed Flounder Stack, which were big hits as well. Though we were pretty stuffed, we opted for the Fried Green Tea Ice Cream, which was exactly what it sounds like. And utterly delicious. Ambiance of the restaurant was clean and sophisticated, yet still casual and laid-back. Views of marsh were pretty spectacular. Prices were definitely up there, but worth every penny. Overall, probably the best dining experience we had during our trip to the Myrtle Beach area. Definitely wholehearted recommendation, and will be returning. It's earned a spot in our Myrtle Beach rotation. read more

Second time coming here. We went early (5:30) because we have a baby and they sat us right away on the porch. I was impressed with the precautions they have taken due to COVID - everyone wore a mask and tables were spaced far apart. The food came out very quickly...almost too quickly. Fried cauliflower was amazing!!! They were out of the salmon and tuna, which was really unfortunate. All of our meals were solid. The portions were fine (no leftovers) but the prices were a bit high. Overall it was a good experience but I'm not sure it is worth the high price. read more

This is a go to spot for our family every year on vacation and we were greatly disappointed this time. Service was very slow and they weren't even busy. Ordered salmon and it was burnt on the bottom. Sent the salmon back and by the time it came to the table the rest of the party was finished eating. Part of the food came out cold and the alcoholic drinks did not taste like they had any alcohol in them. As much as we hate to we will not be coming back. Food vs cost not with it. read more

This place was EXTREMELY LOUD! I don't know if they just have bad acoustics or what but the noise level in the main dining area was reaching unbearable levels as we ate. We had made a reservation but apparently no one here took it so they made us wait for over half an hour just to be seated. The women who ran the hostess stand had the most sour expressions and acted as if any question or statement said by anyone was such an ordeal to listen to. There is no waiting area, you just have to wait wherever and usually servers and customers were running into my friends and I as we waited. We were seated after our long wait and the server seemed flustered. He was a good and attentive server but he seemed very flustered. We ordered drinks but due to the server having to maneuver through the waiting crowd he ended up sloshing the drinks into each other so we had to reorder. I ordered the Murrell's Inlet Catch and the fish of the day for it was the snapper. It took over twenty minutes for us to get our food and we got our appetizers with our meal. The amount of food for the price was ridiculous. My friend got a little cut of fish on grits and it was over thirty dollars. I know we weren't paying for the ambiance because there isn't any. I had no water and had to chase down another server just to get water to be able to eat. This place has alright food at outlandish prices that are NOT worth the wait or noise. read more

When I spoke with the waitress about the inconvenience that our party had finished their entree when my food arrived she got a manager. The manager stopped by and said to me, "I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do" my wife said, "there's nothing you can do? You just expect us to deal with it?" She replied with: "yes, that's what I'm saying" All this after asking for a high chair THREE times then having to go get one on my own. Yes for me. It is on the pricier side, but you'll get a beautiful view with it. The staff were nice and invited us inside from our outdoor table when they assumed it would start raining. They have a large margarita selection. All of the food was delicious. Definitely top pick on the strip if you're looking for sushi. They also show you an array of model desserts if you inquire which is nice because you can imagine what they'll come out as and it's more likely you're going to order one if you can see it in real life. Also make a reservation, especially in the warmer months. Tourist central station. In addition, make sure you're taking a photo of the number to text for parking validation. They recently changed their lot rules, don't take it out on the staff, it wasn't their choice. Just simply text the number from the poster in the parking lot and someone at the restaurant will give you the code to validate as it changes daily! read more

Disclaimer: I'm visiting Myrtle beach from Dallas and am comparing it to most places there. Nice environment. Overpriced. Okay food. We had the salmon sashimi, Samari roll, and rainbow roll. The sushi was more expensive than most places in Dallas and not as good. The area of the inlet is pretty unique and this place sits right on the water, so that was fun. The parking was okay because we were going to Wicked Tuna, which has a parking lot. I would probably not return here, but would say come here if you're going to the inlet and want to go to a nicer restaurant. The food isn't amazing, but the environment is cool. If you're okay with a more chill environment with good food then I would recommend exploring the other inlet restaurants more. read more

What a nice stop. We had a couple drinks and an appetizer of half pound steamed shrimp seasoned with old bay. It was not overly seasoned and the shrimp were nice sized. Delicious! My Upside Down Pineapple cocktail was extemely light on alcohol and priced too high for what I received. I'd have given 5 stars otherwise. We sat outside at the Tuna Shak. Tourist season is over so there was only one other party seated about 1:30 pm. Music wasn't roaring loud and the outdoor temp was perfect. Pretty view of the marina. read more

There were dead fish floating in the water. They added a 20% gratuity that we had to pay. This place is awful. They have decent happy hour specials on food and I enjoyed the outside bar seating. Can watch a game, although the TV situation isn't stellar. If the weather is nice, this is a great place to enjoy. Have been there for dinner and sat outside, which has a nice view of the marsh. Service is always on point. No complaints at all, but not overly impressed either. I like craft beers & wanted to taste a few before I decided on one & she brought several for me with no issues & was very attentive the whole time we were there. The food also was good, I had the mixed seafood grill & it was delish. She had the grilled scallops which she liked a lot. The prices are a little high but not outrageous. The atmosphere was really nice except... We ate here on Sat night of Labor Day & the place was REALLY busy. But we got seated in about 15, no big deal. Beautiful views in a great area but that's about it. You will pay $24 for the worlds smallest sushi roll which is basically worse than supermarket sushi. They have some weird parking validation thing going on and the staff all seem either bored or uninterested. I'm a tourist to this area and I was super surprised by all of the tacked on taxes, hospitality fees, alcohol and food fees, beer fees, etc etc, when the food is super overpriced and the service is subpar it really makes these extra fees seem over the top. I'm from NY and I was shocked at how expensive this place is. There are way better restaurants in this area, stick to them. read more

We were seated immediately and our waitress was so nice and friendly! :) We got the bang bang grouper for an appetizer. They're tossed in a spicy mayo and szechuan sauce and I admittedly ate most of them. I got the shrimp and grits, which were really good! I couldn't eat all of it, so I took the rest home. The food was good, but we felt very nickeled and dimed, so be prepared! My son ordered a filet mignon, but wanted to substitute French fries in place of the mashed potatoes. Our waitress, Tessa, said that because they portion everything we could not do any substitutes. We would have to order the fries as a side order. I graduated from college in Hospitality Management and am pretty sure mashed potatoes are more expensive and labor intensive than French fries, so this makes no sense. At $42 for the entree, i would think we could substitute fries for the mashed potatoes. Then we asked if they served bread? Tessa said they do not, but if we ordered the hummus it comes with naan bread for $14. We passed! I ordered the Tuna tar tar that was accompanied by won ton chips. I asked if I could have a few extra chips with my tar tar and she said that that would also be an extra charge. We again passed. We were then approached by a photographer who said the photos would be complimentary. Once printed, only the small picture on the restaurant logo'd print was comp. There was a charge for other photos., but it didn't end there. We were presented with the bill and were told because we were a party of 6 we were charged an automatic gratuity. Last time I checked, it's usually a party of 8 or more that a gratuity is added. Needless to say, we will not be returning to your restaurant because we found you very inflexible and felt you just wanted extra money at every turn. read more

Took my wife out for Valentine's Day dinner here. Sat outside under a covered deck that was enclosed. It was rather chilly that evening and they had heaters going under the enclosure. My wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Busy staff, however, we were well attended to. The food was superb. The sear on the steak was perfect, very tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the lobster tail. The dessert was truly amazing. To see the hot caramel poured onto the chocolate ball and watch it melt to reveal the inside was a treat to enjoy in person. read more
