Meh. Went on 5/22 to celebrate closing on my house. It was just okay. I should have went with the catch of the day instead of the scallops. They were over cooked and the sauce overpowered them. The sides were bland and unimaginative. This place isn't worth the hype. The wait staff gets 5 stars though, they are friendly and attentive. The facility itself is lovely and you can't beat the views. Fair warning, this restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, so my expectations were also on the high side which is probably why I was disappointed. I am willing to try this place one more time before I write them off - perhaps the chef was having an off day. read more

On our first family vacation to Myrtle Beach. By far, this was THE BEST meal we had over the last 4 days. Also, the most expensive. Francesca M was our host. She was fantastic and from NJ as well. Started with a Greek salad, tempura and She-crab soup. The soup was the winner for me. My daughters loved the tempura. I didn't get to taste it. I had a surf & turf that was delicious. I made a substitution to the catch of the day for the surf from one of the on-menu options. Francesca was very accommodating. The surf was perfectly prepared. Pompano was the catch of the day. I don't recall having had it before. Requested it blackened and it was very tasty. The other entrees included a grilled seafood platter, seafood special (grouper, crab and lobster) and blackened scallops. Everything we ordered was well prepared and seasoned. We all cleaned our plates. We finished with a peach cobbler and crepe brûlée after having been presented with a table-side desert display. We were full after the entree, but, succumbed to selecting these two to share. Francesca made a point of The Wicked Tuna having their own boats to catch local fish several times a week exclusively for use by the restaurant. Nice touch. I have no reason to doubt it from the preparations presented to us today. In summary, scenic location, attentive service, well prepared meals, clean decor, seating inside and outside, but be prepared to be charged nicely as well. We arrived for an 8 pm dinner reservation. Francesca informed us that the kitchen was running a little behind and it may take 20-30 mins to deliver our main course from the time she entered the order. Superb food and presentation. Very inventive menu. I had the scallops and my wife had shrimp and grits with blackened grouper. Our granddaughter had the crab cakes. The portions were good and taste spectacular. Even though we only ordered water our bill was more than $140. The view from the back patio seating area is really nice. Overlooks the inlet. Their concept is hook to table so they catch their own fish and serve it. We opted for the beef carpaccio appetizer and it was really delicious. Then I ordered two sushi rolls, which was up to par. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely very good. The service was on point. We explained that my sister had a shrimp and crab allergy and they seemed to be very attentive to it. We finished it up with two desserts. Kinda doomed from the start. Hostess forgot about us standing beside the stand. Lied and said she was looking for us, we were looking at her the entire time. Took over 5 minutes to be greeted by a waitress, had to ask for straws and silverware after the appetizers came out. Waitress poured Tea down my leg without even apologizing. My guy ordered the meat lovers I ordered the Rancheros. He loved his and I loved mine both came with home fries. the serving sized were perfect not to filling but filling. My guy also ordered the Danish basket they didn't have cherry so they gave him bonus Danishes along with pumpkin bread in which he loved the pumpkin bread. On line reservation made. Show up 15 minutes early to make sure. Told the on line reservation system must have a glitch by the hostess. No table available for 45 minutes. As we are "checking in" we get a text notification that our reservation is in 10 minutes. Then we are told by the very rude hostess that we have to wait outside for 45 minutes for our table to be ready. This is a joke of a place. read more

Great upscale dining in a casual outdoor atmosphere with an awesome view of the marsh. We began with the stuffed mushrooms and yellowtail seviche (which was gone too fast for a picture--sorry). Both were delicious. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc which wasn't properly chilled but our fabulous waiter, Willie, took great pains to get it cold for us. I enjoyed the grilled tuna immensely. The others in my party loved their entrees as well. Perfect ending was the homemade cookie selection (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, and cranberry-white chocolate-Macadamia). Plus an excellent Irish coffee. We had reservations at the Wicked Tuna last night for my birthday and restaurant week and we were so excited. Got there to find out they did not have the short ribs for the restaurant week menu and would NOT substitute anything else for it. Was so disappointed that we walked out. How could you run out of a special on the first day?? Needless to say, we are locals, and will NOT go to Wicked Tuna. I suggest the rest of you stay away as well. Poor way to run a business!!! Me and my family went here for the Thanksgiving buffet today. Not only was the food amazing but the service was fantastic, as well! They were slammed but every server and staff member we saw and interacted with had a smile on their face and a positive attitude! I'm sure they were stressed out but we didn't see it! Please don't go there until they get their parking situation straightened out it's a nightmare no one understands how to do it and they try to charge you $200. I feel bad for the workers there because they have to deal with it and the sheriffs department who else did also deal with the issues with parking no other place in Murrells Inlet other than the wicked tuna in Mochos have this parking scam going on. Love this place. We stay 45 minutes away when we visit myrtle beach each year. I overheard a lady on the beach talking about the hushpuppies ( my weakness ) and had to try it out 3 years ago, and make a point to revisit each time we are there on vacation. The hushpuppies were incredible, but that was only the beginning. Everything is fantastic including the service and the atmosphere. Perfect setting and excellent view. What an amazing view from the outdoor patio and the weather was amazing for July. Our first sign that this was going to be a subpar visit is when our cocktails showed up in plastic Dixie cups! Wow, nice, fancy expensive restaurant and they ran out of glasses?!? By the way, if you order a margarita and it comes in a crappy plastic cup you do not get salt with it! Our entrees finally arrived but still no sign of our salads!!! I asked our server, Austin for cocktail sauce that probably should have accompanied our entrees and he went right back to bussing a table. Sauces arrived minutes later. The food was ok at best. Our server did return to ask if everything was ok and never removed any dishes the entire time. Now we are outside in July. Those dishes need to be removed to keep the flies away but oh well. Finally a food runner stopped by and asked to remove our plates as they have been stacked at the end of the table for at least 20 minutes now. I know Covid is to blame and they don't have enough staff, but they sure were quick to get a tab out to us. For the money spent it was not worth it. Had the octopus salad and we it was pretty good and so was the then crab bisque. My son had a Maryland roll and that was petty good. Waiter was pretty good . Our group of 4 arrived to the outside "Tuna Shak" bar area around 2 pm. We sat at a table & decided we would just wait for a server to grab our orders since there weren't a lot of people in there. The server came over to us & told us we would get our drinks faster if we just went to the bar instead. OK, no problem, maybe she was busy with others. So we went up to the bar. The bartender acted like we were a HUGE inconvenience, and we weren't even greeted with a simple "hello" ... I didn't even see a smile one time we were there. Now I have worked in the restaurant industry for years, maybe everyone was having a bad day, but for the sake of the restaurant there should be people happy to serve customers no matter what is going on.... Food is excellent! But the built in gratuity for our table of six, did not encourage Jenn our waitress to be expedient with her service. We understand things get busy but she passed through our area multiple times ignoring our table and we had to actually get up from the table to find her to retrieve our credit card when we were trying to leave. This put a damper on what had been generally a pleasant experience. We've been visiting Murrell's inlet on vacation for several years and have visited here each time. My wife and I arrived at approximately 7:45 and put our names on the wait list at Wicked Tuna and was told 40 to 50 minutes we checked in twice and did not get a table until 9:10. The place was relatively empty at this point. Were were seated over looking the stage for a live band who just started their last set when we placed our orders. My Crabcakes arrived in about 30 minutes I finished eating and my wife's Sushi arrived sometime after 10 PM and that was after chasing down our waiter.
