This is a tough review because I would give the overall work of the plumbers 5 stars. The initial quote with Jake and the work done by Ben and Kevin was outstanding. They were professional throughout all interactions and did great work on installing my new gas lines. They're the only reason this isn't 1 star. My biggest issue and why my review is so low and why I would be unlikely to use Wickstrom Plumbing again was the extremely poor communication and management from the office side of things. At first, everything was smooth. They responded to my inquiry quickly, got Jake out and were very clear and precise with their estimate and how they would do the work. I decided to book with them because while they weren't the cheapest, I was pleased with their first impression and thought that would translate throughout the process. I booked the work to be completed on August 21. Everything was set from the estimate as Jake included the parts needed and how they would do the work. I received a confirmation email after I hooked and a reminder of my upcoming appointment. The day of, I received a call at 9am stating they wouldn't show up until that afternoon because they needed to do a parts assessment. Sounded strange since everything was set from the quote but I accepted the delay. I call again at 12 because I received no update and a different agent told me they would arrive at 3:30. 4pm nobody shows so I call and they tell me they'll be there in 30 minutes. Finally I get a call from Jake that there was a mixup where the installers didn't have the parts list from the quote and that's why they didn't come out. They assured me they'd have some guys out the next day to finish the job. Kevin and Ben came out Thursday the 22nd and as mentioned before did a fantastic job on the installation itself. They were fast and thorough with all of their work. The only disappointment was the city inspector wasn't available until Monday which further delayed my ability to use my new gas lines. I was extremely disappointed with the added stress and frustration and would be hesitant to recommend or use Wickstrom plumbing in the future purely based on the mixups and lack of communication from the office team. read more

Disappointed to have to post this, but we don't want others to be threatened and scammed like we were: Do not do business with Wickstrom Plumbing Heating & Cooling. They intentionally tried to scam us and falsely claimed our children were at risk in order to make a sale. Before posting this, we verified with a second opinion and we don't want other families put in this position. Wickstrom claimed our 2 furnaces had failed with cracked heat exchangers. They threatened to shut down our furnaces. Even the manager used scare tactics, repeatedly saying our family was in danger, calling and harassing us on the weekend. When pressured, he admitted he hadn't even seen the technician's photos. The photos were time-stamped from a year and half ago and they weren't even from our home/furnace. We had a very reputable company come out and verify that our furnaces were in perfect health, no work needed to be done, and our family was not in danger. Don't let Wickstrom into your home or trust them to be honest. The owner did not return our calls when we tried to discuss this with him before posting. read more

We heard about Wickstrom from an ad we received in the mail. We asked them to complete a shower valve replacement for our elderly parents. After the job was done, and we saw how simple the project was, we questioned why it cost $2200 for a simple valve replacement which took less than two hours to replace. We requested an itemized receipt two times via email and received no reply. When my husband called today to again ask about receiving an itemized receipt, he was told that the valve itself cost $1800. We have again requested an itemized receipt with the part info and labor breakdown. We feel our parents were taken advantage of due to their age and will never use or recommend this company again. read more

Carson went well beyond a normal service call. Our water heater was inspected and deemed kaput. He went out and replaced the old heater in the same day. Then we were having an iron smell coming from the master bathroom. He took a sample and went to the lab for analysis. After all that he proceeded to go into the crawl space and repair a heating duct which had collapsed. So greatly appreciate Wickstrom Plumbing..they do great work. read more

We had to have 50 feet of our service sewer line placed under the house. Colton, Brandon, Trent and Max were amazing. It was a nasty job, under the house. They were in and out in two days. It was raining outside. They covered their feet as they trooped into and out of the house and crawl space. Contacted Wickstrom to get a quote for fixing my two leaking hose bibbs, leaking shower, and two leaking bathroom faucets. I Wanted to to take care of these leaks that had been accumulating. The $39 fee for the quote is basically for a sales pitch regarding having an annual "Plumbing and HVAC Plan". There was also a $5,000 quote for a water softener. The shower and bathroom faucets weren't leaking much at the time and didn't seem of interest to them. They wanted to replace the two silcocks (hose bibbs) on my 6 year old house for $1300 (in addition to a "Plumbing and HVAC Plan"). I thought this was a bit extreme. After asking around and looking at various YouTube videos, I was able to fix both my leaking hose bibbs with $20 worth of parts from Amazon and literally a few minutes of time. While doing the estimate, there was a slight mishap that produced some minor damage. Wickstrom was very good at correcting the minor damage and everyone I dealt with was very nice. However, I was not impressed with their proposed solution for the hose bibbs. I do not plan to use Wickstrom for any plumbing or HVAC services. read more

I want to start by telling you that this company is fabulous. I had the pleasure of working with Kyle, Evan and Andy. CBH homes seems to think that older ladies can get up on ladders to change the filters and their air conditioner. Wrong move. I had these wonderful guys come out and reinstall in the heater room. A filter that I would be able to change. I would like to say that they were absolutely wonderful explaining and making sure I understood everything. For you who think this company is not good, you have to remember the costs in this world have gone up greatly. Their insurance has gone up greatly. The trucks cost a lot of money. Not only that, the men that they hire are the most superior employees I've ever had to work with. Very shady practices, incredibly high charges and they send someone to bid the job who's job it is to just sell and "yack it up". Thought I could trust Google high reviews but that seems to be rigged too. Requested invoices multiple times. Less work was needed than original quote and no consideration given on reducing charges. ONE WEEK AND $39.00 WASTED, and still no hot water. ARGH!!! From their reviews, it seems they're very good at working on standard equipment. But if you have a Tankless water heater, look elsewhere for service!!! When I made the appointment on Monday, January 3. Wickstrom originally scheduled me for Tuesday, January 4 between 1-3pm. I got a confirmation text, for Thursday, January 6 between 11am-1pm. I got a phone call Thursday morning (Jan 6) saying the plumber was sick, (bummer...covid???) and would need to reschedule to next Tuesday, January 11. They were able to bump up my priority and sent someone out the next morning. When the plumber arrived on Jan 7, he sighed and said they don't carry nor can they order parts for my Takagi tankless water heater. I would have to order the parts myself and reschedule them to come back to install them. I'm not a plumber! How would I know what parts to order??? I read the owners manual and was able to tell them the error code the unit was displaying, over the phone. I called another company and spoke with a very knowledgeable dispatcher/scheduler. They were at my house in less than three hours, and the problem was solved in 1-1/2 hours. It was an issue with the exhaust vent, which the Wickstrom plumber never looked at. It would be helpful if the Wickstrom dispatchers/schedulers could verify whether they can work on a specific brand BEFORE wasting your time and $$. VERY DISSAPOINTED IN Wickstrom. read more

Blake came out to supply a quote for a whole house water filtration system. He was on time, very professional and articulate. He also recommended he cleans up the myriad of house water and sprinkler piping. He promptly explained and then emailed all the options. Though I did not have the need, I must say he is an excellent salesperson! I scheduled the install and Blake and Carson showed up on time. Same professional conduct. Carson did a good job in laying out and connecting the piping, while Blake explained everything to me in minute detail. They installed an EZ Water filter system for us and Chris who did the Install was awesome. We have really appreciated the help and professionalism of the Wickstrom personnel. We had a real problem with our HVAC system installed by another company, incorrectly. They were not able to figure out the problem and it was causing our electric bill to be very high. The Wickstrom people figured it out quickly and fixed it correctly and have continued providing maintenance service very effectively. Our electric bill has come down satisfactorily since their did their work. Austin came today to check the system and explained to us clearly how the system is doing. (We had another guy come out and say it was an old system and would never be able to find the parts and we should just replace the whole system). Wickstrom Plumbing is a class act. I've used Wickstrom's services twice now. The first time was when my water line had a break last summer. Wickstrom is a preferred service provider for United Water's customers--and that told me a lot. The two plumbers were punctual, worked extremely hard (in the sweltering summer sun and heat of July 2013) and did terrific work. The second time was today, when I needed shower and sink repairs. I'm not bothered at all by a dispatch fee of $39. (The other reviewer, Joel J., must not understand service fees--they don't drive to your residence for free!) A flat-rate fee is industry standard. And, after using another plumbing company in Boise--one with rates more than double those of Wickstrom--I am very pleased with both the quality of service and the rates. If you want a responsible and capable plumbing company--and this one is family-run, which I really appreciate--call Wickstrom. United Water vouches for them, and now I do too. Okay...ups & downs Prompted by our septic pump alarm, we called Wickstrom Plumbing on a Monday to locate & diagnose the problem. One at-times-very-frustrating-week later we have a new pump & operational septic system. The Down-Side: Though not an unusual or overly-complex problem, the path to resolution was lengthy & convoluted, some of which can be attributed to "things happen - that's life" but the remainder seemed attributable to a lack of attention to detail and/or inexperience: (1) failing to confirm/compare voltages of old/new pumps, (2) seeming inability to identify (or minimally advise) the difference between "grinder" & "ejector" pumps, (3) poor communication both with us & internally, (4) not showing up with standard locator equipment (I was told said equipment was across the valley on another job site - my offer to pick up it up was declined, (5) at which point the worker dug randomly until the office retrieved the Health Dept. diagram) (6) then "guesstimating" where to dig rather than measuring per instructions from the boss, and (7) instead of acknowledging & rectifying the 3-foot error I politely identified, literally digging himself in deeper (and wider) to no avail. (After this worker left we located & excavated the tank ourselves.) While all of this wasn't costing us money per se, it WAS costing us TIME, frustration, showers, laundry, etc.) I can't address the price, as the estimate was a lump sum rather than hourly rate + materials, which made comparison difficult, plus by the time we received the verbal quote I didn't have the heart to call other companies to compare, as we were already in for an afternoon's work - primarily wasted digging. Wickstrom had been recommended by a friend, so we just took deep breaths & crossed our fingers... On the Up-Side: Wickstrom seems to have good intentions/practices in striving to be a professional organization, i.e. licensed, bonded, longer-than-average limited warranty, membership in professional trade organizations. Getting through to owner Scott was a CHALLENGE, but once accomplished, he did his best to be accommodating Scott did not know what kind of pump had been ordered (worker who ordered had taken the rest of the day off & could not be reached) but if we didn't like that pump, he would keep it as a future "loaner" while we discussed and selected another, which turned out to be unnecessary...third time proved to be the proverbial charm... We had received nothing in writing prior to the final invoice, which had me nervous. The back side of the invoice outlined their "Terms & Conditions" including hold harmless clauses for natural consequences of their work which might cause property damage & absolving them of keeping gates/doors closed for children or animals...disheartening! Fortunately, all the workers were conscientious - we had no difficulties with property damage or pet escapes. Hoping this review provides helpful insights into our roller-coaster experiences with having a septic pump replaced by Wickstrom Plumbing. It's so much easier to accomplish when the experience is either awful or stellar! read more

Broken water main to house. If you don't have United Water then prepare to pay 3-4 times over normal prices. We were charged a $79 trip fee and then after 2 hours had to call back twice to get the inflated quote. To replace 110 feet (using a bore) was $7700. I was told if it was open trench it would take 3-4 days with 2 guys on it. I would hate to see the bid for them to dig the Panama Canal. I wouldn't even recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

I called for a tune-up of my furnace and take advantage of a Groupon coupon for this Co. Had never dealt with them before and was looking forward to hopefully finding a good service orientated company. Well, the tech showed up and immediately started telling me everything that was wrong with my furnace, water heater and electrical panel. Then he asked me to go turn on my furnace, when I came back out to the garage, he was wiggling around my infuser motor while telling me there was a crack around it and it's not working properly. I guess being a women, he thought he could sell me a new part and got upset when I told him I wanted a second opinion and wanted him to leave. We had our AC go out and called late in the afternoon to see about a time to have it looked at. They were able to confirm a time the next morning. Chance and Chris showed up on time and looked at the system. I was advised of the trip charge before hand and after looking at the problem they advised what the problem was. They said they would look for the part, but being a very old system wasn't sure if anyone stocked the motor. After a few minutes, I was told they had found one and what the cost would be to replace it and have the system checked and running correctly. They were both very professional and did a great job in getting our AC back up and running again. While the total cost was more than I was hoping for, the majority of the cost was the motor. All of them were either too busy, didn't want to do it, or gave me the run around. Called Wisktrom and they happily came in 2 days. They secured all permits, arranged for inspections, and did quality work at a timely manner. They seem to want my business and will do it in a professional and courtesy way. Just be aware that they charge a flat rate rather than hourly. They charged me a $40.00 trip fee that they do not apply to the bill. Also the flat rate was $300.00 to do a job that took them only a half an hour. That amounts to a whopping $600.00 an hour and no parts were involved! I scheduled an appointment two weeks out so I could plan an afternoon off from work to have a few workers at my house at the same time and to miss as little time from work as possible. At 8:18am of the day scheduled I received a phone call stating they needed to reschedule because they had too may A/C units to install after the past weekend. I had been without A/C for three weeks and had plumbing work they were supposed to do. Customer service apparently is not important to them. read more
