We went on Valentine's Day and they had heart shaped straws, that my wife will likely re use! They are a pretty solid plastic and don't feel disposable. My coffee was originally made with regular milk which I can't drink, but my better half can. So, they just gave her the "mistake one" and made Mine with oat milk as ordered. I went to Wide Awake Cafe finally after passing by it many different times and it it also not far from our home. So there was really no excuse not to try it for so long. Finally I did give it a try. I was not disappointed at all! I enjoyed my order. I got a good Iced Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk and a Cuban Sandwich. The sandwich was good and enjoyable. Absolutely no complaints. This coffee shop is a drive up only so you can't sit down here and eat or drink with what you order so you need to take it elsewhere or sit in your car in order to enjoy it. read more

Very cute drive-thru/ walk up coffee shop. We had a large order and everything exceeded my expectations. The breakfast burrito was perfectly warmed up and my partner enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Asked for a cup of water no ice and she says we make it with Americano water so it has to have ice and I say ok that's fine (I was a barista and we made it the same way so I get it) and she says so you want hot water? And I say no I understand it's ok, and she says again so you want hot water. I say no, it's ok with ice. Then she proceeds to fill the cup full of ice, dump the hot water in and add more ice. I took another route on my way to work this morning and decided to stop by to get something small. I think i have been here twice since i moved to Tacoma, & i always leave feeling great. I pulled up to the drive through window and was greeted by two ladies (who worked 9/12 AM, CENTER ST Location) They were very friendly and sweet and overall made my morning. I had a rough night and getting out the door to work was hard and the simple engagement i had with these two really made my day! What turned out to me dreading to go to work turned into an "I'm going to have a good day" attitude. I work in the hospitality industry so when i recognize great customer service i always need to acknowledge it! I might be being dramatic, but id like to consider myself somewhat of a coffee connoisseur and I have tried a few of their drinks here, all amazing but the Vanilla Bean Latte in my opinion should be the gold standard of Vanilla Lattes. This is the best, creamiest and smoothest latte I have ever had. Not to sweet, not bitter, literally perfection. I had always been curious about this stand near my home so when they remodeled I finally gave it a try. I am so glad I did! The breakfast options are amazing. I love the sunrise burrito but I will try some other items and post photos in the future. Everything sounds good and the food is always hot, even in the center. The drinks are great, they use Dillanos coffee which I like. They also have energy drinks and tea. The drinks are always well made and the baristas very friendly and helpful if you have questions or need a suggestion. The sunrise burrito is my fave (with the cute lil hot sauce & sometimes avocado) & I've even found food options my picky eater family likes (loaded breakfast croissant & handmade blueberry oat bar). The best part is my anxious, indecisive butt never has to choose a coffee because the girls are so helpful with their recommendations for my sweet tooth! They are such attentive baristas not even a mistake will go unnoticed by them. My first time trying this place found it through door dash and it looked so good I ordered The fiesta burrito it is delicious! I wish it was a bit bigger though. It's a bit small. But the flavor is amazing! I'll definitely order again.
