Afterwards, Luis promptly sent the estimate document via text message and provided samples. Once we accepted and chose our roofing material, LCG started work when they said they would. Working to their estimate, LCG removed our old roof, replaced damaged plywood, and installed new roofing and skylights. They were careful and professional throughout. He explained that the moisture issue we're seeing on the main floor of our house is common in many of the houses in South Bay that have a similar build style (tall and skinny, flat roof); no attic space plus heat humidity overload, and the house will literally start to sweat on the inside. In our case, he said addressing indoor temperature and humidity issues with an HVAC company should take care of the problem. Any home construction/repair company that openly shares all information with a potential customer--especially when it prevents an immediate sale on the work--automatically earns my trust. The willingness to put a homeowner's best interests above their own shows that they're invested in maintaining their good reputation. Although our appointment had to be rescheduled a couple of times, when Jake came over to survey our roof, he was very approachable and professional. AA Roofing's estimate was not the lowest, but I was looking for a reasonable quote with a realistic timeline to have both the roofing and solar project done by the end of the 2025 year when the federal tax credit for solar power installation expires. AA Roofing did not disappoint! Jake was quick with the estimate and even quicker with pulling permits and the installation! As a comparison, the three larger companies could not start until 2 and 3 weeks later! We would have definitely missed the tax credit deadline! He also made sure that everything was done within the scope of the quote, and our criteria. Jake's roof tile suggestion turned out to be quite stunning and better than we expected! He suggested we use the solar company he partners with. Elione Solar was not the largest company also but had very high reviews. The speed that AA Roofing completed the roofing portion of the project was HUGE because the lead-time for the solar install is quite lengthy with the permitting, installation, inspection, coordinating with SCE to get everything hooked up into the system (grid?), and THEN FINALLY passing final city inspection. Elione also deserves high praise for their part in this project! It was close but without AA Roofing's prompt and speedy installation, it would have been a challenge if not impossible to meet the year-end energy tax credit deadline!!! One odd thing is, when I scheduled, they asked if the would be seeing both my husband and I or just me; I find this a strange question as what if I wasn't married? It is awfully assumptive to think I had to have a husband, but I digress. Noah was scheduled to perform the inspection. He was running a bit late and called about 5 minutes after our scheduled time letting me know he ran into some traffic and would be about another 5 minutes or so. He showed up 20 minutes later and it was the oddest thing, he parked in my driveway. When he came up to the door he asked if it was okay and I said okay, but honestly, I found it really strange and just didn't want to prolong the appointment. Upon inspection, he seemed very knowledgeable and personable and did a pretty thorough inspection taking pictures and videos of the roof and surrounding areas. As mentioned, I am the type to obtain multiple quotes, so I expected that after he did the inspection, we would go over his findings and a few days later I would receive a quote. After he did the inspection, he showed me a video of something the other roofers didn't, which was nice as I like a thorough job, but then said he would be in touch with a quote. I received a phone call a few days later asking to discuss findings, but when I called back, I got an AI bot which was then followed up by a call back from a real person. Oddly enough, when they called, they literally said nothing. They asked if it was a good time to talk and I said yes but they wanted to talk when "my husband was around." Even though I said it was a good time, they said they would call back. I followed up via Yelp message. It has been over a week and I have yet to receive any quote from them. Needless to say, I won't be going with this company. They aren't willing to work with just a woman and are unresponsive.
