Thanks everyone for the fast drive-thru service and tasty food my wife and I, last minute, decided to stop and get a quick bite to eat. The customer service was excellent and the quality, taste, and temperature of the food was also excellent. I tried for the first time their pastrami burger and it did not disappoint. I would like to take the time to properly acknowledge this establishment. There was a time when I used to come to this particular establishment EVERY DAY and order the same thing... chili cheese fries and mini corn dogs... I however will not be returning here. Management has not taken the time to properly train their servers to make fast food. I asked a young man to fix my food... he explained to me that it comes that way...um no... this is human error. I have never tried Wienerschnitzel so me and my wife decided to give them a try. We ordered the beef and vegetable hot dogs. When we got the orders, the first thing I noticed is there was WAY too much condiments. There was enough condiments for three hot dogs The onions, relish made the bun soggy. The problem is the hot dog itself. I did not think anyone could make such a small hot dog. It was almost like having pure vegatables. In short, I was very disappointed. If you look at the picture compared with the advertisement also pictures, the cone is about half the size advertised and is only half covered in chocolate. It's seriously a toddler cone from a buffet. Except you will have to pay $2.29 for it. All 6 cones ordered came this way. So, I was just at the Wienerschnitzel on Ave J in Lancaster. I've been there before - quite a bit. Used to be a very nice establishment. Not after today, though. Don't think I'm going back again. So I order a #3 - chili burger and dog WITHOUT cheese, large fry and a large strawberry-pineapple lemonade. I'm quite clear on that, that it's all large - and a banana split. I repeat the order and the guy repeats it back. Problem is, the guy somehow makes it a banana split SHAKE. Not what I wanted. At this point when the lady at the window hands it to me, I'm polite, "Well, I took it - might as well keep it." I should have refused. Then I got the rest of the meal. I get a small lemonade. At this point, asking for them to remake the meal - it's like asking a cat to solve algebra. Besides, my wife is hungry and wants to go to Mi Ranchito, so I just give up and leave - it's not worth fighting over and in any event asking for my money back looks pointless from this crew anyway. Oh, and did I mention they put cheese on the hot dog? And the chili burger - yikes. I mean, I KNOW this isn't some high-end restaurant serving Haute Cuisine but geez, at least put SOME effort into making it look nice; I never see this kind of mess from Carl's Jr. or McDonalds with their burgers. I went there expecting to receive the cheese fries they were advertising. I asked if I could add bacon and jalapeños. They told me no problem, provided the total and we get the bags. This was not the only thing ordered, so I went home. Upon checking the items I received chili cheese fries with ranch and a few pieces of bacon. One of the worst locations to go. Seriously Run The attitude of employees make every visit a roll of the dice. Go to ave K instead. Most Employees don't care for there job on J and are miss trained on Customer service. The newest employees argue with you in the drive through. Over charge you or mess your order up. The wait times in the drive through are always 20 minutes tops. You can see trash all over the ground around the outside. My opinion this place needs a lebotomy. I give this location four stars because it is the style I remember the most growing up. I took my baby (dog) here and they have a nice sitting area outside. The food is just as good as it was back in the day. It is in an older area that is run down a little bit, but that won't stop me from eating here. I've never had problems with the people around here. It is the old style stand with a drive through or walk up window only. But they have a big outdoor seating area with good windbreaks and umbrellas. read more

An old traditional location in Lancaster. A friend lives just down the street, so we walk there occasionally to the walk-up window, and it's very convenient. It's fast food, whaddya expect, gourmet dining? Look for the specials to save money, and it's not a terrible deal.
