I ordered takeout from Wienerschnitzel earlier this week. This was the first time I've had food from this fast-food chain in a very long time. It never ranked high on my list with respect to food quality / taste. My recent experience was no better. My order consisted of a Double Cheeseburger and French Fries. Unwrapped the food looked appetizing. The burger was large with more meat / weight than many other comparable fast-food establishments. The size of the fries was on the generous side. Bottomline, my issues included the meat ... which was tasteless, and the French Fries were soggy. Very disappointing overall. I did not finish the meal. While prices were competitive the food was not. I will not return. read more

Last week my boyfriend and I went through their drive-thru to order their seasonal treats. Tis the season, if you know me I bleed pumpkin spice during this time of year! I ordered the Oreo Pumpkin Spiced Milkshake. The ice cream itself is amazing, as well as the Oreos, but the pumpkin spiced chunks at the very bottom were strong like I was eating a candle. People with cravings come to Wienerschnitzel. I felt like having a corn dog... haven't had one in probably a couple of years... and here we are. The side door was locked... apparently due to storm damage... but there was a handwritten sign directing people to the front door, so I went to the front door. I ordered two corn dogs, fries and a soda and sat down near the broken door (which turned out to be a mistake). I pulled out the Yelp app when I sat down and was a little dismayed to see how poorly this place was rated. I looked around... it was clean, the service was fine... hmmm... After a very brief wait my order was brought to my table. Corndogs were done just right, and so were the fries. I forgot how good the fries were at the big W... I really like them. Not sure if this place went through a bit of a dark period or what, but it seems like a normal Wienerschnitzel to me now. Slightly odd location as another reviewer (Jarrod R.) hilariously points out... but nothing wrong here. This is an update on a one star review I wrote in June 2017. Not sure why we tried this place again (Coloma Road location in Rancho Cordova) except that it is convenient and also got a nice response back from the company. I must say, there has been improvement and I get the feeling they are really trying. Last couple times (yes, even went back again) the staff has been friendly and efficient. Even the "crispy" french fries were perfect (thought you'd never hear me use that word huh?). THANKS for listening management and more importantly for taking the appropriate steps. Hope I can keep reviewing and the star rating keeps improving. read more

Wienerschnitzel does not have the best tasting hot dogs or corndogs. I tried their corndogs and hotdogs a few times, did not enjoy the experience a single time. Their ice cream I should say is much better, but not all the ice creams are the best. The staff was not wearing aprons, not wearing gloves when preparing food, that was a disturbing sight. The floors were sticky and tables weren't cleaned. Their bathrooms are not to be entered, (they were a disgusting view). I do not recommend this place unless you are a fan of this place, then I have nothing to add. read more

This place is never open when they say they are, lights are always off and doors are closed around 10pm. It's stated everywhere that they're open until 12am but this is now the 4th time that this has happened to me at this location. In general I avoid writing reviews on fast food restaurants because they're simple, mostly all along the same lines and almost everyone has tried them at some point in time. With that said, I have opted to make an exception for Wienerschnitzel. It is rare that I eat at any fast food place, but on occasion you just have to let all health concerns, social consciousness, and class go out the window. This Wienerschnitzel in particular is in a bit of a random location in a small shopping center consisting of a Sherwin Williams and a liquor store on a not so good stretch of Coloma. It is perfect because I can grab a gallon of paint, a couple of 40's and a chili dog in one convenient stop. As for the food here, sure you can get a burger or a corn dog, but to that I say seriously, why would you? There is one reason and one reason only that I know of that a person would come here and that is the chili dog. I had my first chili dog at a Wienerschnitzel with the old man back in the mid 80's and they've had a special place in my heart ever since. Realistically the success of this chain lies almost solely in their chili recipe. If they ever started bottling the chili and selling it on the shelf at the grocery store, they would surely decimate sales at the restaurants. You can opt for cheese on your chili dog, but it doesn't seem to add much of anything other than fat and calories. In the same fashion that the chili overpowers the cheap hot dog, it tends to do the same for the cheese. As for the fries here, they're very typical and average and another item I was categorize as why bother. In case my health insurer is reading this review, don't worry I won't be back for another six months. read more

The service here is always awkward & the workers are abrasive. The restaurant was recently built so its still nice, basically the "ghetto" hasn't settled in yet at this location. I think the prices are a tad whack for the quality of food you get, but you can't beat the signature flavor of 1,000s upon 1,000s of milligrams of sodium in every bite! I loves my salt! Today I got a chili curly fries, junkyard burger & classic chilichz dog. The fries here are the best, I was told it is because they still have lard in their friers... God I hope so! Its tasty! So, an hour after I feasted on my bounty I found myself sub consciously holding my heart. A few moments later I became parched like the desert! All you WS eaters know what happened, but to those of you who don't the power of the Schnitzel Kicked in! My Sodium levels spiked & my body began absorbing insane amounts of saturated fat. I guzzled 24oz of water & put my feet up to reduce ankle swelling! Its tough enjoying an epic meal from one of our greatest restaurant chains! Long live viva Schnitzel! read more

I actually swear not to come back here after I saw one of the crew allowed outside food to be warmed up on their microwave.

Went through the drive-thru to get a couple of soft serve cones. There was only one car ahead of me, but we were sitting there for 15 minutes waiting for the car in front to be served. Once I got home, I realized that the soft serve had been done when we ordered, so it was melted by the time I was home. Found a hair in it and had to throw it away. These employees do not give a damn about customer service. Put cheese on my Dad's burger after we asked no cheese and it even showed no american on the receipt. Almost didn't give me part of my order of chili cheese fries. Mixed my order with the ONE other customer that was in there. These ladies were too busy B.Sing with each other. Speaking in another language that by the looks they were shooting obviously slamming the few customers in there. No phone number on the receipt, had to look it up. When I called ringed for a few minutes with no answer and finally went to a recording that sent "content full". This place SUCKS because their staff SUCKS! I'm guessing since their work environment is so lax with no management to be found, they must be related to the owner. Won't be back and will now take the survey on my receipt to let corporate know they need to monitor this franchise. P.S. if you do go, never go through the drive thru.
