As a Maryland transplant, I'm always surprised that Five Guys isn't more popular in California, because this Rancho Cordova location reminds me exactly why I've always loved it. The burgers and fries are consistently steakhouse quality, made fresh, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying every single time. This is probably the best Five Guys in NorCal, and that says a lot. Came here with the intent of getting their fries and going across the street to In n Out for my burger. BUT... ended up with their "special" for $13.99 + add cheese on burger, fries, and drink. Total $15.20 NEVER AGAIN! The burger is not worth the extra cost. The burger did not make it out to the edges of the bun but there was extra tomato. The cost was about $3 more than In n Out. The taste was not anything special. Their fries are EXCEPTIONAL though and worth the visit. We were greeted as we walked in and it has been maybe 10 years since we had five guys and it was in Cleveland Ohio. During that time I still liked in and out because I am from California, but after trying give guys again I will happily say that five guys taste wayyyy better and their fries are delicious! read more

Came here around 9pm (30 minutes before close) and me and some friends ordered the bacon burger. This was my first time trying five guys so I had to see if the hype was real. Definitely one of the better fast food burgers around. The burger was almost perfect. The service was on point as well. Very kind and the three gentlemen were working hard. I experienced exactly what I was expecting from a Five Guys location. In a weird twist of events, I ended up eating in. Going right during dinner time, it was completely empty with only a few people popping in to get to-go orders. I was helped right away and ordering went smoothly. There was actually a bit of a wait despite no one else being there - the kitchen is open, so I could see that they were hard at work assumedly making delivery orders. The wait was probably the only downside because it felt longer than usual. Nothing unmanageable. Food came out exactly as ordered. I got the hotdog all the way and shared a large fry (which of course came with a bunch of fries at the bottom of the bag). Plenty of napkins and the hotdog was loaded up with toppings. This was my first time ordering a hotdog at Five Guys, and it was exactly what I was looking for (something smaller than a burger but hardy enough to tide me over). Five Guys is actually pretty pricy with a basic hot dog being $9ish. It's not a big hot dog by any means - Costco would be a better deal by far unless you're a huge fan of all the toppings Five Guys includes in the price. read more

I mostly went for a chocolate malt, but picked up a cheeseburger as well. I've very particular about my shakes and malts. I prefer them to be less sweet and more of a chocolate flavor. If it's a malt, I want that malt flavor to be very pronounced. This chocolate malt was too sweet and had a faint malt flavor. The cheeseburger was okay. I probably won't be back. Good service and food. Been here twice now and both times were a positive experience. New to the area so I haven't had a chance during covid times to sit inside for dining but the seating area is plentiful. Outside has a number of tables so that and take home works well. I usually get the reliable bacon burger with cheese. Yummy! And the fries! Well, they are tasty but expect a ton of them. Very genre out in their fry servings. Staff has always been nice. I think the burger is juicy and it's great that you can add what you want want on it, but I felt like I could have made this at home. On the road back from Jackson, and had a hankering for a 5 guys cheeseburger. It is an above average burger for sure. Ordered one for my wife at home as well. We live 15 minutes away. I called and placed the order on the phone. Came in 10 minutes later it was ready The gal at the front counter was pleasant to work with. I have 2 issues with the order. I asked for one with no mayonnaise. The order tag indicated no mayo, but it had plenty on it. Huge turn off for my wife. Ugh! The next is they wrap the burgers in foil. If the wrapped it in paper first and then foil, it would not be soggy I mean bread is wet and limp soggy. Fine for eat in orders but not for a takeout order. I get that the goal is likely to keep the product warm but I would hesitate to order again under those circumstances. I paid a bit over 25 dollars for the 2 burgers alone and added a 2 dollar tip. I expect a bit more paying that much for 2 cheeseburgers. No fries or drinks, just the burgers. I do not feel that is a good value for the money spent. read more

Such a refreshing change from the ordinary same old burger that is usually sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. This place makes their burgers fresh and you can tell the difference. The huge burgers are more than a mouthful and are juicy and full of flavor. The fries are made onsite and cut from fresh potatoes which is a great escape from the normal frozen fries from many other hamburger places. They are so delicious and remind me of the old days when my grandmother used to cut up potatoes to make french fries at home. Did I mention their milkshakes? They have multiple flavors of milkshakes that you can actually mix and match to your delight. We usually go to the Roseville location, on their receipts they ever seem to have the store number listed. Tonight we thought we would try out this location. We have also been to the Vacaville location. At this location they have those new soda machines that we can add flavor to. I only drink regular coke. But from these machines the regular coke tastes terrible! Sometimes I add vanilla flavor to make it a little better. On this visit all of their flavors were out. My husband likes to add any flavor to his. But they were all out. I know we oreded the little fries, but at other locations they still give a lot of extra fries, not at this location. As soon as we unwrapped our burgers the buns were cold. Never had this happen at any other location. The inside was very warm and yummy. Had a lot more grilled mushrooms and grilled onions then I am use to, that was a nice change. This location has a larger out side seating area. Cashier was very nice and friendly. My main problem with Five Guys has always been the pricing, cause $13 for a fast food lunch is too much in my book, when compared to Habit Burger or In N Out. Yes, the fries are the best at Five Guys and the burgers are good when you can get them to melt the cheese, but not at that price point. So, I decided to see if I can bring the price down to a reasonable level by ordering a little different. The burgers .... They try to shame you into a regular burger (2X patties), by calling the single patty burger a "Little Burger". Awww, you're such a unmanly man, you need a "Little Burger"! Girls don't have as much of a prob ordering a Little Burger. The regular should be called a Big Burger with TWO patties of meat and the single should be called a "regular burger" The bun size is the same as are the toppings. But the price really drops down ordering the "Little Burger" and you still get all the free toppings, like grilled onions and mushrooms and tomatoes you want. I got the Little Burger, no cheese, but extra grilled onions and grilled mushrooms along with lettuce, tomato, mustard and catsup. For fries, stay with the small! It's plenty for 2 people even! Big overfill on the fries always. Here's an insider tip: if you dine in and eat most of your fries, you can just go up to the pickup area and ask for a re-fill on the fries ... FREE! You get another big bag of super hot fries to take home if you want or eat right there. The fries are always super hot when served. I do like the Malt Vinegar available now ... just like Habit Burger! With just water to drink, (no extra soda calories), the bill came up to about $9.00. If I did my usual of a Regular burger and fries and a soda, that comes out to $14.00! So by just ordering the one patty burger, and no drink, I saved $5.00! Now the price isn't so bad, but just be aware of add ons like bacon and cheese. But dang, for $9.00 bucks I could've had a big pizza at MOD! read more

This is by far the best fast-food burger I've ever had. First off, the person told me that the cheeseburger was 2 patties, and the little cheeseburger was 1 patty. I like a lot of fast food and typically their cheeseburgers have a single patty that resembles little more than a ¼" of meat. In and out is a perfect example. That was my context when I ordered the "Cheeseburger". This burger, sorry, double cheeseburger was huge! Also, you can get whatever toppings you want on this. Pickles, onions, lettuce, whatever. You get to customize your burger. And, at least at this location, the meat was cooked PERFECTLY. Granted, I did have to pay something like $20 for a double-cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. I also forgot to mention the fries. In and out says they make theirs fresh, but they are so small. Farmer boys' fries are also fresh and they're the size that they should be if you made them at home. But this seriously is way too much money to pay for a fast-food restaurant for a double-cheeseburger, fries, and a soda. As I was trying to finish my burger, a guy came out and as he was cleaning tables, he asked me how I liked my food. Told him, best burger I ever had. This place has some of the best burgers, not only do they have the best burgers the home made cooked to order are best to none. The employees have exceptional customer service. They put their heart and soul into fixing the burgers and fries. I have eaten at a lot of burger restaurants but believe me when I tell you you will love the burgers and fries .
