It was explained to me how important it was for me to keep my appointments on my hair growth cycle for my results to be the terminate my hair growth. My first appointment went great. It was 10/10. I was told by Dr. Sholar that Sydney was the laser hair removal specialist that I would be with throughout my treatment. At my second appointment, that was not true. I had a different person. It went a little differently but fine. I was treated cordially. Again after my 2nd treatment I scheduled me 3rd appointment on the date recommended by the new esthetician. On the day of my 3rd appointment I got stuck in traffic, like many of us do in Austin, so I called to let them know I would be a few minutes late. The person answering the phone said that they didn't have any laser appointments on the schedule on this day. I said are you sure? And she checked my file. She could see that my appointment had been canceled and told me that their laser person was out of the clinic for the remaining of the week. I asked that when she returned to please have her call so that I could schedule my next appt ASAP. She could also see that no one had reached out to me to reschedule my 3rd appt. Needless to say I was upset. I waited for call to get reschedule and never received one. They have AWFUL Customer Service once they get your money! I have NEVER had any contact from them after they got paid. No one has reached out to get me scheduled again for appointments that they said were so important for my results. They got their Money and Do Not care. They have not contacted me at all. So, I emailed Amy, the person the receptionist suggested. I have requested the money for the services I have not received back and was told it would take 7-10 business days on July 15, 2025. I followed up on July 24, 2025. The only response I received was that they had received it.

I asked for confirmation of the refund which I still have not received. I've called multiple times and given some strange excuse as to why. Last time I called I was told an email confirmation was sent but could take a while because of their firewall. Never received a refund.

Dr. Chike-Obi's team has also been extremely communicative. They have responded quickly to all of my emails, called in prescriptions I've requested same day, and one of the nurses, Nicole, even gave me her direct number so that I can conveniently call or text with any questions/concerns. I don't want to say I've been needy or high maintenance ... it is my body and a permanent procedure, so I should feel empowered to ask any and all questions that I have. But I certainly have reached out a lot, and I've been really pleased with the care and attention I've received. Most importantly, I am certain that the WD team is totally and completely dedicated to their clients' health and safety. I went in for my procedure, and when the team realized that I had a family history of malignant hyperthermia, they immediately reassessed and rescheduled my procedure to a date and time when every possible precaution could be taken on my behalf. Rob, my anesthesiologist, was so empathetic -- he answered all my questions and assured me that the new course of action would prevent any adverse reactions to the anesthesia and even make my recovery a bit easier. I've not yet had my surgery, but thanks to the WD team, I'll be going into it with very little worry. I feel confident that my procedure and the recovery process will be as pleasant as all my other interactions have been thus far. If you're looking for bargains or quick-turn procedures, this isn't your place. But personally, dermatological care and cosmetic work are not things I'd ever want a bargain on, nor would I ever want my care to be rushed. This is a top-notch practice. I got hurt while at work, this clinic refused to process my claim under workman's comp because they didn't believe that I deserved workman's comp for the injury I had (that's what they literally told me). Despite having my information and me begging them to process my claim under workman's comp they sent me to collections a year later. I was 24, making $30k a year ($24k after taxes living in Austin Texas is poverty level) I was so incredibly poor that I needed this workman's comp to cover this injury more than anything and they refused based on their own opinions of the matter. That's what this was all about. Im sure these people don't even work there anymore but this was so insane I had to keep the review.
