Salmon meat with side salad and homemade huckleberry dressing
    Chase H.

What a gem! We took my mother in law to crouch for the first time and she will for sure be wanting to come back her next trip in town. Our service was great, everyone so kind and happy to se everyone. My wife got the salmon melt which was absolutely delish! I was skeptic at first but I ended up eating more of it than her, wasn't overly fishy or a dominant salmon taste. The side salad had a in-house dress (huckleberry) which we ended up buying some to take home! Can't wait to come back !

We had Frappes!! Yum! So friendly! Cute little place! Excellent choice for coffee when in a Garden Valley.

The food was wonderful but the service and the hospitality is absolutely awful. Server let us sit for close to an hour and a half before any food was served. We are tourists and this stopped us from being able to do anything around town as we don't expect an hour and half wait before we even got food to the table. Multiple tables that came after us got their food and she passed us multiple times not realizing we were just sitting there with empty cups and plates as well. We were told that they were out of breakfast potatoes and then we watched a table that sat and ordered after us got the breakfast potatoes. As someone who has been in the food industry for multiple, MULTIPLE years you'd think that you'd give the table that has been here for close to an hour and a half with no food the only thing they ordered. They are definitely only in business still due to the fact that there is quite literally no competition in the small town. Would never recommend simply due to service and lack of care for anything other than a plate of biscuits and gravy. Three different servers on the floor and our food was forgotten. Owner came by and had absolutely nothing to say. Definitely on a high horse from again being the only place in town open. The shepherded scramble says chroizo and It is literally a beef hot dog. I also felt bad that the server comped the bill and used her own money for it instead of the owner being a good owner. Would never come back simply off the ownership.

Salmon Melt at Wild Bills, Garden Valley Idaho

Excellent food. The Salmon Melt is delicious. Ate lunch on the porch. If you're in Garden Valley, this is the place to eat.

This place exemplifies exactly what i think of when it comes to small mountain house eatery. From the moment you walk in, you feel like your at home. Grab a cup of coffee from the self serve bar and grab a table, or wait for the super friendly staff to come take your order and get something from the espresso bar. Everything tastes like it's scratch made that day, including their amazing sourdough bread (which the sell by tbe loaf, and yes you should get one). The local basque chorizo is mild and deep in flavor and js the star in their signature sheep herder scramble. The food, the atmosphere and most importantly the people deserve 6 star ratings. I cannot recommend enough.

The smallest "small" ice cream you'll ever pay $3.00 for. Old and icy, my kids wouldn't even eat it.

I guess I should have known better than to buy ice cream at a coffee shop, but now I know. I certainly won't buy it at Wild Bills again! $3.00 for a small seemed a little steep to me, but I did it "for the kids". Imagine my surprise when those small ice creams came back in cups so small they barely held six or eight bites of ice cream. If the ice cream had been something out of this world, I may have thought differently. But two of my kids ice cream was full of ice chunks and very grainy. I could have bought something much more high quality at the grocery store. They wouldn't even eat it. I will say that the staff was nice, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled amazing. But moral of the story - DON'T BUY ICE CREAM HERE!

Sub par service. Find somewhere else in town. Do not recommend this place. Not worth the money or the long wait

The outdoor dining has an incredible view of the Sawtooths and the food is fresh, tasty, and innovative. The dishes are not what you would expect for tiny Stanley and I'm so glad to have this gem of a restaurant here.

When you first walkup to the hotel, you are met with a very rustic, cabin-esque hotel building where you wouldn't expect to find such a fine dining experience. We were sat outside which presented the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Sawtooth Mountain range. We ordered several dishes for our meal and every dish was just as amazing as the other! Bigwood Baguette: This was a great start to the meal! The baguette was baked to perfection and had the perfect amount of crunch to it. It comes topped with an herb oil and sea salt which added the most flavorful touch. Soup of the Day: Their soup of the day was a White Bean stew topped with rosemary and hern olive oil. The stew was rich without being too heavy and the seasoning was perfect. Soy Glazed Brussels: The soy sweet chili glaze had such a nice balance of sweetness and the slightest hint of spice. The crispy rice noodles and crumbled peanuts added such a nice textural contrast to the Brussel sprouts, which in my opinion were cooked to perfection! They were seared well without being too burnt or crispy. Beets & Burrata: Hands down one of the highlights of the whole meal. This dish came with a handful of components, that when paired together into one bite on a crostini, resulted in the most delicious amuse-bouche. The burrata was so light and fresh and I never knew that it was the perfect pairing with beets on a crostini. A MUST have. Columbia River Grilled Steelhead: Absolutely stunning. The Steelhead was executed beautifully and the mushroom asparagus risotto was cooked to perfection. Honestly, compliments to the chef for what seemed to almost be an experimental pairing with adding the sweet pesto and blueberry gastrique. Never could have I imagined these flavors being paired together atop a piece of salmon and I will not ever soon forget how flawless this dish was. Pork Schnitzel: This was my husband's dish which I did not have a bite of, but from what I could tell, the Pork Schnitzel was very well done. It was thinned out and tenderized very well and the breading looked like it was golden-crisped wonderfully. I did get to try the mashed potatoes and can remark that they were some of the best I've had! I had some of the lemon caper beurre blanc that was drizzled atop the dish and I would do anything to be able to have a jar of that at home. I am going to talk about this meal for a long time. If you are ever passing through Stanley, Idaho, it would be a giant mistake to not visit the restaurant at the Sawtooth Hotel.
