Was about to take a lovely little lovebird from this man as I just lost my senior cockatiel a few…read moredays prior (who apparently died too young! He was 17 years old as far as we knew and came from an animal hoarding scenario) I had filled out paperwork and made a payment to claim the bird. And upon leaving and discussing Bill's comments and general attitude towards me, we turned around and I canceled my adoption agreement the same day. His list of comments were endless, alot of which I will include here. And might I add were delivered in an overly customer service-y level of passive aggression. (Ive worked in retail almost 10 years, I know it when I hear it.) - My sun conure is on a seed diet (hes very picky and will not touch any veggies i give him.) That was an issue - the cage i had left from my late cockatiel was "too small and he'd never put any bird in that cage." (My Tiel spent the last 5 years of his life in that cage with no issues. No crest fatigue, always ample food and water. Bird was arthritic and had lowered mobility in his old age) - Attested that I was wrong about being safe with my animals. I have 4 dogs and 2 cats. Dogs are always outside when my bird is out of his cage and my cats show no interest in my birds or are never in the same room as my bird. I was met with a "thats what they all say" comment and "it only takes once" - Continued to make me feel guilty about my own birds passing away "prematurely" in his eyes (17 yr old tiel, 10 year old tiel, both of which were rescues from animal hoarding scenarios so we have clue how old they truly were, nor what their health was like.) -Asked if I had an Avian light. I said my birds were near an window and he insisted "oh thats not enough because of the high efficiency windows in all homes nowadays." (Also felt the need to mention he was a realtor?) I wound up canceling my adoption because it simply feels like Bill is setting potential bird owners up to fail with his harsh criteria. There was so much i could see that he would find issues with in my home and probably deem me "unworthy" to adopt one of his birds. I can promise the birds I would get from him would have a better life than they currently do in a dark, dirty, run down home thats been converted into a bird shop. If you're seeking a feathered friend I suggest taking your business elsewhere unless you want to be plagued by anxiety of losing the $300-$800+ amount youd be paying for a bird you would never receive because you were "an unworthy owner" (Literal clause in the paper work that stated if Exotic Bird Ranch deemed a client unfit to own a bird that no refund would be given for the adoption price.) Copy and pasted from my Google review.

I took my first adoption to be boarded while we had some major sheet rock and painting done. Well when I walked in this little tiny Goffin reeled me in. Bill held him for me until the work was done. I feel because he knows the bird will have an amazing home. I've read some bad reviews about him and I can guarantee if he denies an adoption it's because he feels it's an unsafe placement or not a good fit. He told me many things I had to change to make my home a safe environment for a bird. Not a problem it's the birds that matter. Here's my second adoption from Bill.

My cat has been throwing up for years, even the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with her…read more Katie, at the North Poudre Pet & Feed, inquired about her vomit and thought it sounded like the problem was she was just eating too fast! We switched Munchkin to a 1/4 wet food a day (incase she was dehydrated from all the puking) and putting her dry food in a feeder ball -so she has to roll it around to get food out, making her eat much much slower- and the results were immediate! I can't thank Katie enough for helping keep my baby health and happy and my floors vomit free!!!! Highly recommend seeking advice from this smart cookie!

I shopped, loading 22 rawhide chews and 6 cans of dog food into the basket and bought a 22lb bag of kibble. When approaching the register, the cashier put the bag of kibble on the counter, then placed the basket on top of the bag. She then took the rawhide chews out of the basket to count them. When she finished, she put the rawhide chews back in the basket ( shopping bag? ). I cashed out. The cashier asked if I would like help carrying out the bag of kibble. I said, "Sure.". She then stood there. I got the message that she was not going to load the grocery bag with the items in the basket. I reached for the grocery bag and proceeded to load my items, one by one, into the bag as she watched. When all were loaded, she removed the basket from atop the bag of kibble, reached for the bag of kibble when I then said, "I'll get it." As with other reviewers, I'm wondering about customer service at this store.

I have a 300 gallon pond. I have been looking for a tricolored butterfly koi fish for over a year…read more I stopped in to get feeder rats and found they had the tricolor I was looking for. When a young gentleman asked if I needed help I told him what I wanted. He said he had to go get someone who was acquainted with this type of fish. A female employee shows up a couple minutes later I tell her excitedly that I wanted the tricolor koi. She starts asking about my fish tanks. I tell her I have a pond it will be going into. She starts to tell me she can't sell me the fish so I ask for a manager. She comes back a couple minutes later with a manager to tell me that it's too cold outside and they can't sell the koi fish. It may be February 1st but it is unseasonably warm at a sunny 56 degrees. Secondly I try to tell them that I have an INDOOR pond which serves as a nursery/hospital tank for any new koi as you should never just add new fish to an established pond without knowing the health of the fish, but she absolutely doesn't want to hear anyone other then what the offended employee had already told her before she even came out to see what I needed. If you don't want to sell certain fish during the colder months then you shouldn't carry them. Secondly. If all you are going to do it hear the employees and NOT the actual customer then why even pretend that you have any sort of customer service. I currently have 3 ponds, 2 outside and 1 inside. None of which is any of their business. I also have a 55 gallon tank that houses a Snowflake eel. This eel has a particular diet. I have shrimp, snails and other small inverts in the tank with and he will not eat them. I have tried brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, silver sides, feeder good fish. He won't eat any of them. But he absolutely loves the black mollies. Yes he's a salt water fish. And if you educated your employees they would know that mollies can, will and do live in salt water. I asked for mollies for my eel and they refused to sell them to me as they aren't allowed to sell any kind of fish as a feeder? But you sell rats to be fed to snakes. You sell tiny gold fish to be fed to other fish? The amount of self righteous ignorance shown by the employees and management in this location is disgusting. I go into this PetCo every 2 weeks to get rats for my snakes and hopefully catch the right person working in aquatics to get the fish for my eel. I will be taking my business to the PetSmart down the street from now on.

Everytime I call anymore, it's a struggle to get what I'm requesting. Copy of chart notes so I can submit a claim to insurance? Took 4 calls & having to lay it out as simple as I can "I need the notes that the Dr wrote after he saw my dog today. I do NOT need a receipt." Trying to get meds? Half the time I'm told they can't order that medication for me. The other half... they call in meds to a compounding pharmacy since my dog is small. BUT THEY DON'T HAVE IT COMPOUNDED?? I had to tell the same staff member 3 times that yes, i did, in fact want the medication compounded. And then I get a follow up text "just to confirm, you do want this to be compounded?" Last weekend was my breaking point. I took my dog in for a quick blood draw. I was there for an hour. They never drew blood. There were animals in and out. Both for tech appointments and to see the Dr. My dog sat in the back the entire time while I sat in the lobby. I asked several times if it was going to be much longer. After 45 minutes I did tell the manager to please just give me my dog. That took yet another 15 minutes to get my dog & pick up medication. I'm disappointed, because I felt like the vets gave my pets top notch care. But if I can't trust the rest of the staff and constantly deal with frustration anytime I contact them - I can't do it. I am waiting for my dogs records - which has yet again been a struggle.
