Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 Taking into account the current economic state of the nation, if you have modest expectations, a modest budget and a BIG appetite, yes, this restaurant is for you. Sure, other reviews on this thread include comments in the scope of entrees available, and the usage of styrofoam plates and plastic knives at this venue, BUT THE PRICE OF AN ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET MEAL HERE IS ONLY $10.50... Nowadays, $10.50 will barely cover the cost a a Happy Meal at you know where ... So yes, come to this restaurant, enjoy the service and food, and forget about the rising impact of inflation during the course of your meal ...

Talk about the best deal in town. I was driving by going to an event caught this place of the corner of my eye and said well might as well take a look. This is definitely one of those local family own businesses that anybody in the community should support. The food was good and everybody was kind. It was also very clean and there was a line which gave me more confidence that this place is awesome. I would highly recommend to anybody in the area or passing through

Nice little place Food was fresh and good A great value for dine in Cantonese style cuisine The broccoli in the broccoli beef entree was cooked tender and they use boneless thighs for the garlic chicken. Most Asians like the dark meat.

Why does this place get such high reviews? Totally tasteless and gross. I would not recommend if you are looking for good Chinese food. I would rather get some from the place next to Food 4 Less in Stockton. It's much better and has some tasty food.

Here's their party tray prices and pictures of their trays. The prices are for the small trays.

December 13, 2025 - Approx. 6:25 PM…read more On the way back to Stockton from Jackson, was in the mood for Chinese food and Google Maps suggested this restaurant. SUMMARY: Good deal for take/out food in this era of high inflation. PROS: Was impressed with how fresh the vegetables were in my Beef w/Broccoli order. Plus a nice balance of flavors. Also, was surprised with the Yen Ching Fried Rice, as it was both filling & flavorful. Finally, the served portions equaled, if not exceeded, the charged prices. CONS: While I was waiting in the dining room for my orders, I was freezing. I don't think they even bothered to turn the heater on, or maybe it just wasn't working. But you can imagine that if you ate in the restaurant, your meal would go cold in a matter of minutes. It's a total shame, since the interior decor is rather nice. Also, while I enjoyed the aforementioned Yen Ching Fried Rice, I felt that the Yen Ching Chow Mein was not on the same level. While the flavors and ingredients were basically the same, I felt that the noodles chosen by the chefs were not top quality, especially taking into account that this is supposed to be one of their signature dishes. SUGGESTION TO MANAGEMENT: Sprinkle some fresh Sesame Seeds on the Dry Fried Chicken, and the dish will look visually appealing. And please turn on the heating in the restaurant during Winter. SUMMARY: If you want good Chinese food at reasonable prices, this place is definitely worth a try.

Came to Golden China as a spur of the moment dinner idea and tbh I'm super disappointed…read more Located off Geer in the Turlock Town Center, Golden China serves typical no frills Chinese fare. The inside is decked out in lucky red and reminded me of those mom-n-pop Chinese restaurants of yore. There's a walk-up counter to place to-go orders. I ordered: Salt n pepper shrimp - I counted 14 head OFF shrimp with 60% onions, NO jalapenos for almost $17. The shrimp looked like the kind you find in a frozen bag at Costco - small and... shrimpy. I get this may be a bastardized version to appeal to the general demographic in Turlock, but I was not impressed. It's what made me write my review right away, I was so shocked by the small amount I got. Chicken chow mein - this was ordered at the counter for the SO after placing my original order over the phone. When he dug into it, it was 40% bean sprouts and barely any chicken, maybe 5 or 6 small pieces... Beef chow fun - same issue of overcompensating with hella bean sprouts. The beef wasn't velveted enough and a bit tough. Taste was fine. Chili oil spilled over in my to-go bag and didn't have much spice at all. All three entrees came in the leftover to-go sized boxes, totaling almost $50 after tax and tip. I understand inflation and all, but cannot justify returning due to the negative value for the amount of food received. It's unfortunate because the service is probably some of the best for a Chinese restaurant. Super friendly over the phone and just as friendly in-person. As Gordon Ramsay would say, "Damn. What a shame."

Their entire menu is incredibly affordable (a la carte dishes are ~$12 and lunch special combination plates are ~$11 on average) with generous portion sizes. The general chicken is a MUST! Such a flavorful sauce. My order is not complete without this dish, there's really just nothing like it. I also highly recommend their spicy pepper ribs and mongolian beef. I'm pretty picky about chow mein and theirs is unmatched; I love the flavor and especially the thicker noodles they use. Service is always really quick, the staff truly treats customers like family, and the food comes out hot and fresh every time. It's an unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but such a gem! They have a loyal customer for life in me.

We really wanted to give Shangri La a fair chance because our first order in the last 5 years was…read morethrough Uber Eats and not entirely the restaurant's fault we had such a bad experience. So we headed in for dinner a couple nights ago and, unfortunately, it was worse than our smooshed Uber Eats delivery order. I don't want to bash any small businesses but there were so many things that went wrong. The salmon on the lion king roll was noticeably stinky fishy. I eat sake sashimi at least 3 or 4 times a month, it's my favorite fish and it shouldn't be "fishy" at all unless it's on its way to going bad. This was the biggest reason for deciding to leave this review instead of letting it go. Someone could get sick. The best roll was the warrior's roll, and I'm not very big on the texture of unagi but it was really good. My step little loved her chicken teriyaki which I also tried and agreed. The chicken thighs were moist and delicious but could have done without being completely drowned in thickk teriyaki. The miso soup was fine but had wonton strips in it which I'd never seen before. And lastly, the stuffed mushrooms were delicious, but they are the size of a quarter and cost $11.95 for 4 teeny tiny mushrooms. Our server was trying really hard but it was obvious he hadn't had much training. He seemed overwhelmed and was definitely struggling and that feeling just got worse and worse through the meal. Everything we ordered came out randomly and with no organization. We ordered a large Kirin after verifying with him that they had bottled Kirin. They did not have it bottled and he brought us a draft and when we asked about the bottle he was apologetic but said "he already poured it..." So we felt like we had to take the draft. It spilled all over the table while I tried to pour it into two glasses because we were sharing. The check took a solid 20+ minutes after we ate and at that point I started getting irritated. Our server walked past us at least 10 times and I'm pretty sure he forgot but we couldn't get his attention. When he brought it over, he cleared our plates to box up all of the sushi we'd barely touched and he accidentally spilled soda on one of our rolls. Honestly, I wasn't even mad at the kid, it's not his fault he wasn't trained. The restaurant needs to work on whatever is making the salmon fishy and bring in someone to train their front of house staff. We unfortunately will not be returning, probably ever.
