Food was okay overall. The sesame chicken was a little different than what I'm used to, I was expecting breaded strips like most Japanese restaurants serve. That said, the young host and server were incredibly friendly and kind, which really stood out and made the experience sweet. I'll be back, but I may skip the bento box next time and try more of the Chinese dishes instead. They also take Apple Pay, which is definitely a plus.

I randomly found this place before heading down to the movies and wow this place was super good! I ordered the teriyaki dinner box and also for appetizers we ordered calamari. I loved the dinner box so much, it has rice vegetables and the teriyaki sauce and chicken was super tasty. My friends also ordered their sushi which is very popular and the dinner box. There's a lot of options to chose from id recommend you all to try.

From the Yelp reviews, I didn't see too many people order chirashi at this restaurant so I decided to try it. I am so glad I did! It came out pretty quickly and the portion is so generous. The fresh thick slices of sashimi were more than enough to fill me up. The sushi rice was lightly seasoned and went well. At the end, I only ate about half the rice (because I usually eat smaller than average portions) and had to take a break before stuffing the last 3 pieces of sashimi in my stomach. The price was extra reasonable and certainly more than enough food for me. The agedashi tofu (not pictured) had more of a panko breading (instead of a light wet batter) and this made it a little heavier of a dish for me. My friends ordered a handroll, a bento box, and a singapore fried noodle. The singapore noodle was also gigantic and delicious, according to them. Overall this was a great place for a casual dinner. In this little town of Lodi, this was certainly a surprise find.

So for my nieces birthday we went here to celebrate, large group of about 24 people. It was a Friday night, but they let us make a reservation and sat everyone down quickly as they came in. With the amount of people in our group the service was on point! Quick to bring out the food, drinks, refills, anything we needed. The food was amazing, I had the teriyaki chicken bento box, so I got a little bit of everything, perfect amount of food and reasonably priced. Others had sushi rolls, the volcano roll was the favorite. Some had prawns, edamame, a little bit of everything. No one complained about their food, including the kids. Place has nice decor, full bar, and clean. Will definitely be back, and highly recommend. My 9 yr old niece told me "you need to give them a good review." And I sure am lol

It's such a beautiful day that we decided to drive out to Lodi from Elk Grove to try this restaurant and I'm glad we did because everything we ordered was so good. We ordered the fried agedashi tofu which was so good I didn't even get a picture lol. The tuna ceviche with wonton chips was 10/10. You can also order this as a sushi roll. The Warrior roll and Lion King roll were also really good because they were really flavorful. My favorite thing about the rolls were that they were cut perfectly to the size that would fit in your mouth. I hate it when I have to bite into a sushi roll lol. The service was also 10/10 as the staff were attentive and always checked on us with everything we needed. This is important for us because we have two young children who always need SOMETHING. If you know, you know. We got the crème brûlée for dessert and the top was torched which my daughter loved because it had a bit of the crunchy sugar. Perfect for her to run out that sugar around downtown Lodi on a beautiful Saturday. We will definitely be back!

As we are walking up, I start to wonder about the town we are in. How is my mixed nationality family going to be received? I forget what city it was, but I remember once making a quick stop off the 99 for a break, and feeling like we stood out like sore thumbs. Fortunately that wasn't our experience today. We walk in and we are warmly greeted. The restaurant is fairly busy, so we get seated way in the back....near the restroom. We start looking over the menu, making our drink orders, and my wife asks if I smell something? I don't, but my son, who is sitting closer to the restrooms says, he does. After we make our orders, my wife can't take it anymore and gets up and asks to be seated at another table. A couple of tables have cleared, so we get seated closer to the center. After which, my son says that he was starting to feel sick at our old seats. Had we not moved, I think they both would have been miserable. From here on out, it's just good times. The food arrives. My wife and I got bento boxes. Katsu chicken for me, sesame chicken for her. The kids all get sushi the rainbow roll, all in one (I believe), and a hand roll. My son would later say that he thought the hand roll was bigger and that he wish he would have gotten something else, even though in the pictures, it was clearly smaller than the other rolls. While I'm on the subject. The way the rolls looked in the pictures, they look small, because they are paired into 4 sections. Everybody missed the fact that each section was cut in half, giving you 8 pieces. If you're not looking at the detail, it just looks like 4 pieces. In the end, I think the smallest roll we got was 9 slices. The hand roll, though, was probably comparable to 6 sushi slices. But, with the 2 bento boxes, we had plenty of food. I also came to learn that not all katsu sauces are the same. Back home, I've only ever had Maui katsu sauce. At M Bitro, I learned what Japanese katsu sauce is supposed to taste like, and I gotta say, I'm not a fan. I was so disappointed with the strong taste of ketchup that my first thought was, this isn't katsu sauce. What I'm familiar with is sweeter. Well, after a quick Google search of katsu sauce, it turns out, the main ingredient is......ketchup! Yeah, nobody in the family liked it. I'm also not going to knock M Sushi for being authentic. Unless somebody forgot to add the sugar.... Yeah, I can't say for sure. To be continued for sure. In summary, great food, good time. 2 more hours on the road before we got home. Only one real complain that had us changing seats. Easy fix

I'm sure there's reasons why they don't, won't, can't carry them, but oh well. Getting used to Lodi being kind of a vegan food desert has been a bit challenging. There just aren't a lot of us veggie people here I guess. If you read my reviews you know I'm vegetarian. I review for people who are looking for veggie friendly food as a priority, and I include vegans wherever I can. Anyway now that Bridget W. told me about the Happy Cow app I will probably have more luck. Other than that pretty large gripe, this place is A Ok. Clean, quick service, customer service is adequate, food is made fresh to order, nothing too crazy. There are tvs to watch sports and the bathroom report is a pass with flying colors. It's usually packed full of families. But sorry not sorry, unless I'm not very hungry while out and about with my partner, we're going to pick Buffalo Wild Wings every time because they have cauliflower wings for me. So if someone reading this has any pull, maybe consider having the beyond chicken option that your website implies that all of your locations carry.

We can usually depend on it being busy as they offer a small dining area with limited tables outside, so when we do walk in we do so prepared. They do have a reservation system but to my knowledge we have not used it. We just walk up and greet the staff person at the door to check in, and they tell us what the wait is like. If it's over a half hour we usually kill time in Raley's. It's usually not longer than a 20 minute wait. If you are a large party, things might get cramped, but I've seen them pull it off with gusto. We've never had a party larger than four and it's been great. I really like the folks who work here. And the food is great too. They have a few tvs and a little sushi bar at the back, and the noise level is about average depending on how many children are dining with their families. Komachi has a dedicated vegetarian menu and I've tried most of the things on it. I love that they have marinated shiitake rolls, my fave of the standard veggie sushi innards. Yummy! My favorite rolls on the menu are the Garden Roll (steamed asparagus, avocado, cucumber, kanpyo, and shiitake), Shittake Maki, and the Rich Jumbo Roll (fried asparagus, fried onion, avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber). Appetizers I have tried and enjoyed very much include the Agedashi tofu, fried brussels sprouts (I have to remember to have the fish flake removed from this dish though), and of course, wakame (seaweed salad). They do have ramen, donburi, bento boxes, teppanyaki (the tofu one I look forward to trying soon!) and salads as well if you're not in the sushi mood. I like their seasonal drink menu, featuring wine, soju, and beer. Komachi is also reasonably priced. Yeah, pretty much everything I'm looking for when me and my boo are craving sushi. Vegan Corner: several items can be made vegan upon request, but there is not a dedicated menu. Bathroom Report: noisy pipes will not hurt you, at least it's smelling fresh right?

We were seated immediately which was nice and the place was bustling. The server checked on us periodically in a timely manner throughout the dinner. My friend and I both ordered the sashimi-nigiri combo and though we got the sides of salad and miso soup right away, the actual sushi took quite a while to arrive. The miso soup was also a bit too salty and grainy for my liking. My friend and I were deep into our conversation but the lengthy time it took a while just to bring out our one orders each became noticeable enough for us to wonder where it was. My big takeaway from our experience with the Nigiri and Sashimi: not prime quality. I have been to other sushi places for nigiri and have had better quality and tasting fish elsewhere. This was kind of bland and sad. I want to come back to Komachi and give it an honest shot with the other items on the menu, but my usual favorites (sashimi and nigiri) did not impress me at all... I hope I can return to update this review with better things to say..

The noodles were cooked perfectly--not overcooked or soggy--and the flavors were spot on. One thing we really appreciated was the generous portion sizes. We had plenty of leftovers to take home, making it an even better value. The dining area is small, simple, neat, and clean, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The staff were also friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. My only disappointment was the Thai Tea. It came in a can, which was my fault for not reading the menu carefully.
