I was really bummed when I found out the Wild Duck closed, but they're under new ownership and back and better than ever! With the same (and some new) fun UO decor and memorabilia and brand new Hawaiian classics on the menu, this is your sign to check 'em out. If you know me I LIVE for Hawaiian comfort food, so I was excited to try out their new Hawaiian fusion menu items. I got the Hawaiian Style Plate with 2 meats, the chicken katsu and Korean chicken. The meats are served with your typical two scoops of rice and mac salad. The mac salad was more peppery than I'm used to but still really good. The chicken katsu wasn't like your traditional chicken katsu filet, but instead were more like chicken strips -- still super crispy, tender, and juicy! The katsu sauce really made all of the difference, it's barbecue-y and tangy. The Korean chicken was okay, I was expecting it to be crispier with a sweet and spicy sauce (think gochujang), but instead it was a very mild soy-based glaze. I'd love to go back and try the tonkatsu, tangy garlic vinha d'ahols, and loco moco. Wild Duck also kept some of their classic menu items in case you're craving something else. Overall, the service was excellent, the restaurant was really clean and had tons of natural light, and there are plenty of TVs to stay up to date on all of the games! Go ducks & go support local! PSA: It gets very busy on UO game days so keep that in mind.

Stopped in at Wild Duck Cafe and had a really good experience. I went with the jalapeno burger and it was very tasty, packed with flavor. The fries were nice and crispy, just how I like them. The atmosphere has a relaxed vibe and the service was friendly, which made everything smooth. Definitely a solid spot to grab a good meal.

We had a good sized group and were looking for a place that could accommodate us all. This was the only place that we could find so our expectations were pretty low along with the rating here.. very sports bar/ college vibe decor going on and the noise level would mirror that. We noticed the menu had a heavy Hawaiian influence and felt so uncertain how that would work in Oregon? But we gave it a try anyway! We started with misubi and some wings. The wings were sweet Vietnamese sauce (i think) and some mango habanero flavored. The sweet ones weren't bad but they weren't as good as the habanero joints, those started the mood off right. The misubi was surprisingly good too, despite the double riced side. Which was the first time I had seen that but I won't complain one bit. On to the main dishes.. I got the loco moco which hit all the proper notes, especially the patty. Some hot sauce would've put me in a food coma that I wouldn't want to come out of lol. The Hawaiian BBQ steak plate was all hit and no miss as well. The fried chicken wasn't the most memorable for the person in our group but the average for this score is still very high.. I'm not sure if the waitress lady was Hawaiian/poly but I wouldn't be surprised if the place had some real Polynesian cooks or recipes going on. I was very pleased with this experience. Maybe the low expectation raised the score but I will still recommend this place to anybody on the fence about it. It has a low rating but it also barely has any reviews. Hopefully this helps them out and I hope that they take care of you the same way they took care of us. This place has potential that I hope they can keep up. Our waitress was on her A game as well.

So years ago I would come to the Wild Duck brewery (Glen Falconer, Sasquatch RIP). Three because of a horrific tragedy it then later became what we know today as Wild Duck Cafe The ambiance is basically the same feel and the food and service were both really good. Came in before the Ducks football game and the Bluegne burger with chicken tortilla soup. A couple other things were at the table and everything was great. Look forward to coming back again. If you have been here come give them a try.

Solid sports bar. Plenty of tvs to watch a game. Potential questionable cleanliness but doesn't takeaway from the vibe too much. Service was super quick and attentive. Food was alright. The French fries were actually great! Crisp and seasoned welll! The sliders were tasty but the meat seemed a little undercooked but the slaw on it was great!

Excellent food and service. We were in Eugene, from Hillsboro to see a concert at the Matthew Knight Arena, and it appeared that the Wild Duck Café would be the perfect restaurant/bar to enjoy ourselves before the show. And it was. Our server was Summer and she was so friendly and fun. She knew the menu very well, and was able to assist my daughter and I in our selections. I enjoyed the Rock Point Pinot Noir, while my daughter had vodka and soda. We started with a very flavorful Spinach and Artichoke Dip. So good. Then my daughter had the Hawaiian Pork Sliders with fries, and I had the Reuben with fries. Everything was hot and fresh. We will be back in a few weeks for another show, and we will definitely return to the Wild Duck. Be early, as they fill up for the pre-show festivities.

Disaster. Ordered, paid, sat for an hour-plus. Never saw anything. Had to leave because I have other things to do in life.

Good food. I had a smash burger and the Cajun fries were good. Family owned and they treat their customers like family.

Big City Gaming and Home Team Kitchen- 4 stars…read more Big City Gaming is a Sports Bar in Eugene. I went here on the 4th of July which is hella less annoying than 4th of July in the Mission in SF aka my hood. So my beloved Lotus Garden aka vegan Chinese food that is fab that I would frequent in the day when in lived in Eugene was closed on the 4th despite their website saying they were open and walked there to find out they only are currently doing take out. Damn like Kendrick Lamar So I walk back to Big City Gaming and the friendly bartender tells me that they have an all vegetarian menu even though it isn't pure veg aka they have non veg too. It's all good baby, baby. I am starving after walking heaps in the hard sun like Eddie Vedder. So I get some water and check out the all veg menu. Upon the bartender's suggestion I go with the jackfruit tacos. They were quite alright aka two corn tortillas filled with generous portions of fajita style grilled jackfruit, topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and our signature avocado crema sauce sprinkled with queso fresco. I decided to add vegan crema and non-dairy cheese for a buck. It hit the spot. I did feel like a fish out of water with all the screens showing baseball as basketball is my jam. I am a huge Warriors fan and sad we lost Donte yet he is going to the Knicks. Cool atmosphere with screens for sports and games such as shooting basketballs in the hoop etc. Recommended for sports night!

I ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs and gravy on the side (because I planned on taking half home and wanted to preserve the breading on the steak). The panko coating on the steak had me intrigued, but it was great! The hashbrowns were pretty tasty, although they could have been crispier. The biscuit was decent, but the flavor of the gravy and the steak brought it all together. The quality reminded me of another sports bar here in Bend that has really good breakfast/brunch foods. I can't really speak to the other dishes but my wife and daughter were very happy with their French Toast and Waffle. I'd def stop back in if I was in the area.

He hasn't quite nailed consistency yet, but it's clear he's trying. After my original experience, I wasn't sure I wanted to return. But I happened to see him advertising for a new chef not too long after, and I figured that was a good time to try again. I still love that he supports other small businesses, like the butcher shop next door, the bakery across the street, and my favorite brewery in Corvallis as well. Nothing makes me happier than seeing small business supporting each other. I have a complete love affair with their tacos every Tuesday, and my inner fat kid craves them constantly. Friday, my husband and I went in for the prime rib special. It is a 12 ounce prime rib, baked potato, and chowder or salad for $25. We also enjoyed an amazing beer from Block 15, which is like my favorite brewery ever. Service is great, I've never had a complaint there. The owner is always there working, everybody working works. The owner and chef both bring food out if the bartender is busy. It's clear nothing sits and waits. Everything is everyone's job, and I have huge respect for that. I am really glad I decided to give Twisted Duck another try, because every experience gets better and better, and I'm always happy to see a small business growing and becoming very successful.

Rennie's Landing Eugene…read more I went into Rennie's after reading a handful of reviews that sounded like people wandered into a college-campus bar and were shocked shocked! to find college kids, energy, and a crowd. Folks complaining about the vibe or the service while standing smack in the middle of the University of Oregon is like being surprised there are Ducks at Autzen Stadium. Context matters, people. My wife and I stopped in recently and had a genuinely great time. The service was solid our bartender was attentive, friendly, and made some damn good drinks. Food? On point. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy, even though you could tell this place knows how to stay busy. And yeah, it does get busy... because it's popular. That's not a flaw, that's a flex. The location is fun, the energy is lively, and I could absolutely see this place turning into a full-on party once the Ducks are flying high or the weekend rolls around. If service ever slows a touch, it's not because they don't care it's because half of Eugene decided Rennie's was the move that night. That's just college-town math. Bottom line: Rennie's Landing knows exactly what it is and where it is. If you come in expecting a quiet wine bar, you're in the wrong zip code. If you want good drinks, good food, attentive service, and a lively Oregon Ducks atmosphere, you'll leave happy. We sure did.
