I had the house salad , the perfect greens with cucumbers and sunflower seeds. The soup was tomato basil. I'm a soup snob and this was delicious! For my sandwich I had the French Dip. One of the best I've ever had. Caramelized onions and guyerre cheese , the beef was finely shaved and the au jus was fantastic. Disappointed! I was excited to enjoy a nice meal with my kids. The ambience is beautiful and the evening started out perfect. The tempura asparagus appetizer is amazing. Note, this place is pricey but I heard good things about it. My kids ordered the duck and the steak, both which were wonderful. I decided to treat myself to the halibut which was $58. I have had halibut before it is such a buttery white fish. However, I was very disappointed by the lack of flavor- it was bland so I needed to add salt & pepper. It came on what appeared to be hummus with some nuts scattered over it and two small leaks cut down the middle and charred. Not what I expected for $58. Secondly, it was like someone boiled the fish- it was rubbery. This fish when cooked correctly is very moist and buttery. This one was not, and I mentioned it to our server. I said he needs to tell the chef that this is not a good representation of the dish. I thought I was going to be very excited about my meal but I was not. Our server said he would tell the chef. We paid and left. I noticed when we got home and I looked at the bill there was no consideration for my poor quality entree meal. Sadly, this Mother's Day brunch was so different from the one Sweetwaters on the River presented last year. Not only was it $30 more than it was last year per person, the food and presentation was a shadow of what brunch was last year. Our server was great, but not one assistant manager or manager, stopped by our table to greet us at any time during our meal. Last year we had an assistant manager and a manager come over to our table and have an actual conversation with us and this year I felt we could've had the same experience at the Sizzler at a much cheaper price. They also suddenly discontinued their happy hour a few weeks ago, so I have no real motivation to come back to this location. read more

A very cool four star maybe five restaurant on the river with a View great menu. We had the salad which chopped salad which great great cocktail menu desserts are kind of limited. Well, what a difference a year makes. Huge disappointment this time around. Took my daughter there again, this time to celebrate a birthday. Failed on every point. I got the Caesar salad with the premium add-on of king salmon, requested medium rare. It came out hammered, with the albumen all oozing out and almost white throughout. $19 for this add on, uhm, no thank you. The dressing was so bland, too! No citrus, no anchovy, no salt. My daughter got the Cubano - stacked high with plain shredded meat, no pickle or mustard to speak of. When I mentioned my salmon disappointment, the server told me that "I should have said something earlier", though I had eaten less than 1/4 of the dish. No discount offered. Bummer. We were celebrating my Mother In-laws 80th with family and friends. Sweet Waters is known for its river view, excellent service and entrees. The dining area has great views of the river with ample seating for every party size. We had a party of about 8, we were seated a few rows back from the main windows. Our waitress was very friendly and quickly took our food orders. The Brunch menu offers a large variety of food options from Classic Breakfast dishes to Sandwiches and Burgers. To start a few enjoyed Mimosa's. We then ordered the Scramble, it is served with smoked bacon, piquillo pepper, green onions, cheddar, crisp gold potatoes and choice of toast, a fairly ample plate of food, our party also had the Classic Benedict, poached egg, English muffin, a good portion of shaved ham and a nice portion of hollandaise, a standout dish was the Crab Benedict, with a very generous portion of warmed crab, poached eggs, hollandaise and an amazing salad. All the food was well prepared and well presented, everyone enjoyed their meals. At the end of our meal my Mother In-law was presented a sweet treat, and we all sang Happy Birthday to her. We all had a great time socializing and taking in the views and the ambiance. I am not sure why the ratings are so low for Sweet Waters, we had an amazing time as a family. This is a return visit from seven months ago and wow, so much better! Harrison our waiter was excellent, he also indicated that there's a new chef now. Very apparent! The dungeness crab cake was absolutely amazing. The accompanying Sriracha Remoulade was just the right spice and made the dish.Along with the arugula. Enough for 2 or maybe 3 people to have a bite. I ordered the amazing cod beer battered fish and chips for only $20. They have a Halibut option for like $8 more, I like the cod. This fish and chips are the best I've ever had. Light and crispy, just like they serve in Ireland! Spot on. I ordered the fries extra crispy because last time I was here, the sring shoe ones were horrible, limp and over cooked. Not now, they've even changed to a larger flat French fry and a wonderful slightly spicy seasoning. My husband also liked his. Now the coleslaw is another issue, I told our waiter Harrison that they should leave it off the plate or get it right. Not only was it tasteless, but it looked like it was at its peak about five days ago was slightly browning edges. That's okay. The rest of it was awesome so I'll forgive the chef for that one, plus everyone else in our group loved the service and the food. Our son ordered the rigatoni and elk meatballs. He said it was an amazing dish, complimented by the arugula and pine nut salad. His partner ordered the beef and pork meatloaf with port wine brown glaze, garlic mashed potatoes and baby carrots. Went here to have brunch with family . My daughter had called yesterday made reservations at 11 for outdoor seating knowing it was going to be a beautiful day . We got there they told would be 45 min. It was juicy and I would order again that way again . My daughter got the same with bun hers was chewy but she said bun was good. My husband got the Cuban didn't have a lot of flavor and was missing more sauce or mustard. He did get the house tomato soup he loved it said it was really good. My other daughter got the burger she said it was alright. Her boyfriend got the huevos rancheros he said it was the bomb. It looked good. We will go back . I recently stayed in the hotel here for three days. With the weather storming, I didn't go out much. I had three dinners and two breakfasts here at Sweet Waters. The view through the big picture windows looking out on the river is great and the restaurant's three- tier construction makes great use of it. The cocktails were great. The food was good. The prime rib (fridays and Saturdays) was excellent. Everything else was good and fairly commensurate with price. The service was not so good. The servers are running ragged. They are just under-staffed. Even with everyone pulling 110%, they can't give good service for dinner or breakfast. The management needs to bring on more staff so that the staff can deliver what they're capable of. read more

They never checked in after an hour, after several eye contacts. Seemed to be more engaged in meeting the male customer at the bar, as the bartender voice and conversation was all you could hear. Very disappointing to have such poor customer service from what should be an experienced bartender and exceptional customer service. Due to her poor work performance they've lost a customer. We didn't even get the check we just left cash on the table. Saw her running to the table once she noticed that. Yes we paid in full and a small tip, because that's the right thing to do. We had a 2 hour dinner which is exactly what I like. We had outdoor seating and the view of the river was beautiful and peaceful. Their focaccia is good. It could be improved with an option to have oil & balsamic vinegar instead of butter. Their price for farm-raised salmon is steep. Considering we live in the Pacific Northwest and there is an abundance of fresh salmon available. The wine selection is extensive. We started with a glass of bubbles and then enjoyed a new Pinot Noir from Dundee Hills. Their Sommelier, Jacob is very knowledgeable. We had lunch here on a summer weekday. Despite a dozen empty but set tables, it took the staff about ten minutes to "check that one is ready" and seat us. This is a basic hotel restaurant mostly frequented by hotel visitors and business travelers on expense account. It is one of the only places in Eugene on the river and that is the main draw for non hotel guests. It was remodeled in 2025 so fancy inside. Noise levels are quite high because for some reason they didn't add any sound absorbing materials. The food is quite average - mostly sandwiches and salads for lunch. The table next to us had crab cakes which stunk to high heaven. The soup, salad and sandwhich trio is ok. Cup of soup was tasty. Salad was a small handful of undressed greens. The sandwich was a heavy, greasy tasty French dip. Service was ok. The servers here mostly follow the amateur routine of only being able to handle one thing at a time. If someone at the next table asks for ketchup, they are unable to check in at our table on their run to the kitchen and back with just ketchup - no multitasking possible. read more

Made a reservation but got there 45min early and they seated us in a cute table with a view of the river! Chairs were very comfortable BTW... I had a signature cocktail - the Bourbon Cosmo and it was very good. We switched to Chardonnay for the dinner. It was very nice too! I had the grilled half chicken and my wife had the salmon. Both were delicious. I really liked the mushroom and potatoes that came with the chicken. Our server was very friendly helpful and attentive. I totally recommend this place. My daughter graduated this week and we were here at some point. The food is delicious, tasty burger and appetizers! Our waitress was very nice and the hostess was great. My wife and I were here in March, the initial service when seated was super slow and the follow up visits also slow. I stayed at the Valley River Inn over 3 nights and visited this restaurant several times due to convenience. The food and views were great but customer service needs improvement. During the first visit, my friends and I waited over an hour to be served lunch in a near empty restaurant. During the next visit, the waitress told us that there was a 15-45 min wait (despite the empty tables that remained empty for over an hour). When we tried to add an extra chair to our table to accommodate our group size, the waitress got extremely irritated and rolled her eyes at us and called her supervisor over to speak with us. She later came by again to basically ask us to pay and leave. During our third and last visit, the waiter tried to charge us for a dessert that we ordered and gave up on after an hour. Staff was painstakingly slow when it wasn't even that busy. Took over 10 min just for us to get water. Waitress didn't check back in with us after we got our food and she automatically split the bill in half so I ended up paying almost $15 more than what my meal cost. The entire staff looks like high school kids & they were very unorganized. Overall I had high hopes for this place because many people speak highly of it but I wasn't impressed.
