WORST SALON EVER!!!! WORST HAIRCUT! I showed exactly what I wanted and explained explicitly what I wanted. But the haircut that I was given could have been cut by a person wearing a blindfold!!! All the hairstylists had very long hair and perfectly cut hair. Yet they seemed VERY happy that I left that salon butchered with MUCH shorter hair, all differently lengths and cuts randomly all over! I walked in with naturally very shiny beautiful long hair almost to my waist . I believe this was a deliberate and very vindictive act by envious women. A lot of them wear extensions. My hair cannot even be fixed unless I want a bobcut! A very professional hairstylist from another salon could do nothing to fix it. Any positive reviews for this salon I believe would only come from older people who want to the same style they always get and they will probably be treated better by the young stylists and owner who arent envious of them. I sensed a VERY hostile attitude when I entered the salon and I witness their very smug looks as I was leaving the salon. This is the first time men looked shocked as i exited the salon. Today, I was very nervous to try a new salon. I was prepared to be disappointed and sad, as is so often the case when one tries a new salon. However, my expectations were astronomically exceeded by their exceptional and efficient staff. I have very clear instructions as to how I prefer for things to be done. My instructions were adhered to down to the letter. I am so impressed with the service I received today as well as the outcome. I highly recommend both the atmosphere and service at Wild Strawberry. This was quite possibly the worst haircut I ever received. I showed the stylist a photo of what was a simple long layered style. I stressed to her that I must be able to wear it in a ponytail, as well as a French braid. When I came into the salon, my post covid hair was halfway down my back and thick. When I left, it does not even reach my shoulders, is shorter in the back than the front as well as uneven from side to side. It is not layered, and while I can still tie it back (barely) there is little more than a stump, rather than a ponytail. Of course, a braid is now certainly out of the question. I am assuming because I only paid $80, that this was a junior stylist, yet I would still expect to get a reasonable cut, close to my expectations, instead of the exact opposite of everything I requested. read more

WORST HAIRCUT I usually go to see Andrea but was told she no longer works there so I made an appointment with Nina. SHE DID EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I ASKED FOR. The first thing I said was that i have to be able to put it in a ponytail, i can't at all. She asked if i wanted it to be dried straight or with a flip at the end, I said straight; I got a flip. She said layers, i said no, so she gave me SIDE BANGS THAT CUT OFF STRAIGHT AND THE REST OF MY HAIR IS 2 INCHES LONGER. I was constantly talking to her and telling her what i wanted, i even showed her a picture of my last haircut and she still was incapable of comprehending that. Avoid this place if you like your hair! I asked them simply to color me in my natural color, just to cover the grey-hair and from ash-brown i turned into redish-brassy. And i was told that i'm colorblind and they made a perfect job. I attached the pictures, so you judge yourself. Never ever left anyone any review but in this case feel almost obliged to do so. P.S. The Owner keeps cleaning up bad reviews, so my review was deleted from yelp for no reason, saying that the pictures had nothing to do with the job of this salon. The owner called me on my personal phone, was rude and unprofessional and I have the whole conversation recorded and the owner admits that i was in their data base and got their service. If this review will be deleted again - i'm gonna have to keep posting it again and again just in order to protect other customers. read more

Never have I ever been more disappointed in a highly reputable salon than I am with this one. Being an Aveda salon you would think everything would be top notch and high quality....oh but it wasn't. I normally go to an Asian place to get a shellac mani which is always great and not expensive however since it was a special occasion I figured I would go to a 'nicer' place with English speaking ladies who I can have a conversation with to get my nails done. I booked a shellac removal and shellac polish. However I most definitely did not receive that... Upon walking in I was greeted by friendly staff (1 star for the greeting) I was then taken back to my manicurist and she told me to pick any colour (very small selection) I wanted---I chose a colour she said she didn't have that colour. Strike 1. She then whipped out this drill to take off my shellac which is normal however she did not know how to use it properly. MULTIPLE times she buzzed off my nail and onto my skin which HURT LIKE HE--L. Strike 2. After the awful drilling she was unable to remove my shellac which was strange because it was normal OPI shellac...she said I had "bad shellac" on just because she couldn't remove it. 1 hour later my shellac was off (clearly L they don't have the proper tools to do nails. MORAL OF THE STORY: all I got was a shellac awful removal... I had to go book another manicure at a separate place which screwed up my entire schedule. Oh not to mention I had to pay for my "manicure" here AND the other place. I'm sure this salon is awesome for hair cuts or hair removal / waxing but not for nails. read more

PS, Just to reiterate my point on the price increases, two years ago I paid $13 for a child's haircut, this week I paid $25. I guess it wasn't really a 200% increase, it was only 192%. I'll do my math better next time. This is NOT a downtown hair salon, stop pretending it is. Also, your snarky responses to customer reviews when they aren't in your favour, are pretty tacky. Allocate some of that revenue to hiring a proper customer service/ social media specialist as clearly you are terrible at it. Remember word gets around. read more

The staff at this place are extremely rude. I have never once felt welcome upon arrival. Each and every single member of that team has an attitude. Even when I call to make an appointment on the phone, they are stiff and make me feel uncomfortable. Aside from the horrendous vibes this place gives off, the prices are exorbitant. I would not recommend Wild Strawberry to anyone. The entire experience i had was very off-putting. I am sure the services they perform are adequate, but the atmosphere us unbearable. Marissa use to cut my hair, she did a fine job. However, when I arrived for appointments I was kept waiting. It took an hour to get out, after the wait. Do not like to wait for an aoointment, do not feel a wash, cut and dry should take more than an hour. Too bad, would have stayed had they been more conscience. This salon was found in a plaza, in a part of town where plazas are remnants of urban development from the 80s. After I had an invigourating scalp massage by Anita, I had my hair cut (no pun intended) by Caroline, a Senior Stylist whom had cut my hair quite well except that she left a side of my hair imperfect which is blasphemy, especially to my detail-oriented self. The service was terrible and the workers were insanely rude. My hair is falling out more than ever and its INSANELY damaged. I've done tons of treatments and my hair has 0 hope at all. My hair looks terrible as well as the fact that the girl who did my hair left bleach in my hair for an hour and abandoned me completely. She was messy and dye was everywhere. Do not recommend. Never coming here again. I have never been at a more unwelcoming salon. How is it possible that the entire team has an attitude? I have never regretted anything more in my life. Great experience at this salon! Clean and professional. It is always busy so you have to book really early in advance to get your stylist. I haven't had a good experience with these guys at TWS. I got my face laser done for almost a year and my hair is still there as it was or I'd say it's less than 5% less. The most annoying part is that I went every month regularly too. Every time I left the clinic I was unsatisfied. At times the tech lady wouldn't remember that I was there for the full face and miss one or two parts ( sideburns, or forehead or upper lip). When I reminded her she would say - oh it's already done. (Come on, you are telling me that I wouldn't feel the pain or the machine head being slided over my face!) And other times she'd keep the machine at such a light setting that I wouldn't even feel I was getting laser done. You can see the results afterwards too because the hair from the treated area feels lifeless after a few days that I wouldn't see at all. These guys are so deceiving, when you go there they'll sweet talk you into buying the packages but after you pay, they treat you at such a lazy and slow pace that hair would stay there. It's because they want you to keep coming back for more treatments after the package times is over. Anyways, I'll give TWS laser clinic one star for providing a clean environment in the clinic and talking sweet. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever. Please don't waste your money and time and find some better place! read more

They sent my daughter home in tears. She made her appointment weeks in advanced for a very special occasion only to be told by the cold receptionist that they did not have her appointment in their system and they're completely booked otherwise. Clearly someone on their end messed up royally, yet it's my daughter who is brought to tears in the salon explaining why she needs her haircut and all they can tell her is that there is nothing they can do. The worst customer service I have ever seen for any type of establishment. They don't have the right to advertise the aveda name. read more

I began attending this salon for beauty services in the spring of 2010 to prepare for my wedding on Sept. 19, 2010. I have enjoyed my experiences with all of the staff. They were welcoming at all times and made me feel at home. I want to acknowledge three very special people who helped make me beautiful from the inside out and prepared me to look absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day. Amalia did an amazing job with my hair...she knew exactly the right colour and highlight shades and worked with both of my teenage sons and my future daughter-in-law to ensure they were happy with their haircuts/style. Stavros deserves a hand as well in helping to communicate the best cut/style for one of my sons. Amalia's expertise made me look stunning on my wedding day! Another special lady is Laura who introduced me to the BioGel experience and encouraged me to enjoy my pedicures. Her French BioGel manicures are superior to any nail treatments I've received in the past and her pedicures last 4 weeks or longer! Another awesome young woman is Jennifer who worked diligently to get my makeup perfect in the several trial runs leading up to my wedding. On wedding day, my falsies lasted all day and night and I didn't have to touch up my makeup at all except for lip gloss and shine reducing powder. Jennifer is committed to ensuring her clients are extremely pleased with the final result! And a big thank you to Ellis who gave my daughter-in-law her first professional manicure...she still raves about Ellis' relaxing hand massages! This was my second time at Wild Strawberry- they came highly recommended from friends and people in the area. First experience was great with Caroline. Second experience recently- I won't be back. My stylist called in sick morning of ( happens). The secretary Jen was extremely extremely rude, when she called to tell me this. Her tone was unacceptable, and she refused to tell Caroline ( the owner) to text/ email me- and said so extremely rudely. I still rebooked and went back. The day before my appointment I called and left a message with the miserable secretary again- for the owner Lui, who never called back. When I stupidly went the following day to do my hair- I was hoping for some support, mend this annoyance, the owner Lui said he was too busy to return my call, the secretary was still rudely chirping in my ear, Lui didn't seem apologetic at all ( yes I got a free blow dry) but it definitely did not make me feel like a place I want to return to- the prices are the same as everywhere and the customer service just not up to par in my opinion. There are many salons that will be happy to take my money and treat me kindly, hopefully show a little more appreciation and acknowledgement for their customers. I live in Toronto but commute to this salon because the prices are great for the quality of cut. Jenny cuts my hair, and for 50 bucks I can get a cut that I would pay 90 for in Toronto. My favourite part is the scalp treatment before the actual cut. The salon itself is also nice and always clean, and the reception staff are always there to great you and process your payment with a smile. I'm not sure why it's gotten such weak reviews, as I'm pretty picky about my hair and would definitely recommend this spot. read more
