Love La Doña Mezcaleria! Cozy inside with a great patio for date night. The house margaritas were tasty, carne asada enchiladas juicy and flavorful, and the rice was spot on. The lamb flautas were the star of the night, we'd come back just for those. Finished with tres leches cake, which was the perfect ending. Service was great. Maggie was fantastic!

This place has a small hole in the wall feeling. While I've been to Adelita's next door, I didn't realize there was a connected restaurant here. While the carne asada tacos felt pretty ordinary to me, there were a few things that stood out to me while dining here! First of all, the lamb flautas were perfect. The flavor was delicious and the flautas were crisped to perfection! I'm glad we decided to try these instead of opting for the chips and guacamole. The flour tortillas that came with the steak plate were sooo soft and so good as well. I thought to myself, that's a quality tortilla! The Mula Sabia I ordered without knowing it was a mezcal, but was really impressed by all the flavors. It was an interesting drink that I'm glad I tried, and would recommend to folks who want to try mezcal or aren't too off put by smokiness. I am giving this place four stars for those three elements. Service was good! They came and checked on us after a loud crash and I thought the gesture was really nice.

We were hungry after snowmobiling near vail in the afternoon. Due to I-70 closures we were rerouted through Denver. We ate at La Dona and had Andy as our server. He was amazing!!! My BF is on a "carnivore" diet and Andy had the perfect suggestion of molcajete de adelitas. Oh my goodness I have never had flavors like these. And the chips and salsa were incredible! My BF got an extra serving of chicken, and I got a chicken taco. Andy suggested a beautiful purple drink. I forget the name but it had lavender in it and it was so good too! Amazing service, ambiance, and the food was the best of our trip!!! We absolutely will be back!

La Doña Mezcaleria is a perfect spot for those Tuesday Taco cravings. Located near the corner of Broadway and Louisiana in Denver. The patio vibes and the atmosphere lured me in. It's pretty busy come sunset. I suggest you come a bit before your stomach tells you to feed it. My wait time was about 30 minutes. My server was Andrew and he was great. He offered paper menus if I didn't want to use the QR code to see the menu on my phone. I scanned the cocktails, there was tequila and mezcal from $6 a shot as well as the high end upwards of $50+. I took that $6 shot and a jarrito mandarin soda in a bottle. Chips were on the appetizer menu with guacamole but I opted for salsa instead. These are not bottomless. The salsa unfortunately missed the mark for me and was a bit watery and not that tasty. I was hoping this wasn't a precursor to the $2 Tacos I ordered. I ordered 1 carne Asada and 2 carnitas tacos . They were delicious! Also ordered was an enchiladas with chicken. Those were flavorful and the rice was perfectly seasoned. The food and drinks came to my table in a short amount of time and last call was 8:30 as they close at 9pm on certain days. That's smart in this area after dark. Parking is street parking and hard to come by. This is a good choice of food in the vast places to eat in the area.

Wow!!! Amazing food! We stopped in while visiting the area and opted for outdoor dining. The food was delicious, flavorful, and well seasoned. The guacamole was fresh and not too spicy. They also have a great salsa appetizer trio that we shared. We shared the entrees- starting with molcajete de adelitas (10/10). This was such a stand out! It came to the table sizzling. The taste and flavor of every component blended together perfectly. I also found the entire dish unique with the use of melted cheese. We also shared the mole oxaca which was great (8/10) - although this dish was good, it was not nowhere near as unique as the molcajete.the Naranja Fresca was a nice fresh mezcal cocktail. Olas de rubi was good too but not as light with the added egg white. Overall, great food and drinks, nice atmosphere and good service. I would go back for lunch or a more casual dinner.

Me and my boyfriend have been looking for a good taco restaurant, tacos were amazing! Our drink was 10/10, they also had a good variety of Mezcal and Raicilla

Pretty average, I would maybe come back in the future but it wouldn't be in my first 5 choices. The food was good but not GREAT. my friend had the chimichanga-- notes are that it should have had more substance, she barely tasted any beans or veggies. And she didn't like the sauce she ordered, hence a very "mid" experience. I ordered tacos! You get three you can mix and match (except the fish, bummer!). I loved the al pastor. No sides or anything come with. We ordered the salsa flight & guac, both were delish. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, the atmosphere of the place is fun too.

Wow, this place surprised us both. We weren't expecting such perfection, but then again, when you look at the Yelp reviews, it isn't off the table to expect legit amazing. Legit amazing is what we got. First, can we talk about the bar? It's absolutely gorgeous with the back lighting and bottle arrangement. I loved the cushioned seats also and all the wood. There are also community style seating as well as traditional tables, all minimally decorated but done so well. The entire vibe of La Dona is inviting, mellow, and relaxing. I felt myself exhaling as we walked in! And, we haven't even gotten to Happy Hour. Double wow. Flavors were so on point, cooked to order and visually pleasing. Happy Hour was perfect. We ordered Chips + Queso, Queso Fundido and Lamb Flautas. We left nothing, haha. I loved my Paloma - maybe too much. This was some easy drinking, lol. This is one of those places we will certainly return to and bring friends. Really well done!

La Doña is a perfect spot for an evening out or a casual get together. I'm a fan of Adelita's and I just learned La Dona is a sister restaurant. La Dona's has a great covered patio with the same delicious food from Adelita's plus a variety of cocktails which can be ordered with or without spirits. Our server was polite and quick to take our order. Our food came out quickly. I ordered the tacos and I like that you can mix and match. I ordered lengua and asada on this occasion but it doesn't matter which ones I order - I like them all. If you're looking for a sweet treat order the flan. It's creamy, sweet and light.

The Skinny: AMAZING drinks - food was surprisingly mediocre. (drinks 5/food 3) The Overview: First off, I was very excited to try this place since I had heard rave reviews about drinks & food. We started off with some drinks, we ended up with the Raices Profundas, Seda Verde, and Cigarro De Papa. All the drinks were amazing - almost too easy going down. Refreshing, well balanced, unique and pretty. The bartenders know what they are doing! After having amazing drinks I was pretty pumped for the food. Unfortunately - it missed the mark for me . They had food from their sister restaurant Adelitas. I had the taco dish with Lengua, carne asada, and carnitas. Overall the tacos all were a bit on the bland side and lacked seasoning. Maybe it was my over hyped expectations from being blown away by the drinks - but even with some salsa there was much left to be desired flavor-wise in the food. Vibes/service: Overall, the spot is situated in a great spot on broadway - close enough to stuff but not in the central so that its too rowdy. There's an outdoor patio with plenty of seating and an indoor area with tables & bar seating - I'd recommend indoors for a better vibe. The bar is where its at and you get to see all the mezcal and tequilas they have on hand - very impressive! Service was friendly and quick. Would I come back: Drinks were so great I'd definitely come back - and from all the rave reviews I'd be willing to give the food another shot as well. Maybe just an off night.

I may be one of the last residents in Denver to discover this happening place. Based on the line out the door, I would agree with the queue and get in it! We were able to squeeze in for a drink at the bar during their rush time on a Saturday night. Well worth it! The flavors chosen for each cocktail made here, intertwine to give you a refreshing and unique taste of mezcal, and in my particular drink, lavender and coconut- the Coco Morado. This mezcaleria is well worth every dollar you spend. La Doña has taco Tuesdays and discounted Mezcal selections on Wednesday. If you haven't hopped on the mezcal train, this is the place to start as it is on the list for being one of the best mezcaleria's in the nation. This is also the sister bar to Desert Social 200ft away :)

Recently named by Forbes as "one of the best Mezcal bars in America", La Doña Mezcaleria does not disappoint. There are plenty of options for seating in this busy place. We chose to sit at the bar area. Bartenders are friendly but super busy. While sipping on a cocktail, it's fun to look at the many brands of mezcal and their beautiful labels. La Doña has an extensive selection of mezcal for tasting and amazing seasonal cocktails that highlight the smokiness of mezcal. I opted for Flor de Vida - a colorful cocktail with Madre Mezcal, orange blossom, prickly pear, and citrus sparkling rosé. Definitely a place I will return to closer to when they open to avoid crowds.

Ever since moving to Denver, Alma Fonda Fina has been at the top of my restaurant bucket list. I…read morefinally managed to get a reservation (booked exactly 60 days in advance when they opened), and it was absolutely worth the wait. Having that much time before our reservation also meant I got to thoroughly research the menu, which definitely paid off. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's small, intimate, and has a modern aesthetic. There isn't a ton of seating, but that's part of the charm. There's patio seating along the railing outside, bar seating where you can watch the chefs work their magic in the open kitchen, and just a handful of tables inside. Parking is street parking in the surrounding neighborhood, and from what it looked like, most of it is paid. It was just me and a friend, and we shared four dishes, which ended up being the perfect amount of food. We started with the Callo de Hacha al Horno, and these were hands down the best scallops I've ever had. The presentation alone was gorgeous, with the scallops served in their shell, but the flavor completely stole the show. I'm a huge seafood fan, and this dish absolutely delivered. My friend isn't even much of a seafood person, and it was his first time trying scallops and he loved them too. I joked that he may have ruined scallops for himself because it's hard to imagine finding a better version. Next, we each ordered a Taco Campechano, and wow. This was either the best or second-best taco I've ever had. The taco features two different meats with a green salsa on one half and a red salsa on the other, making every bite a little different. Both sides were fantastic, but the green salsa was next level. At around $11, this feels like one of the best values on the menu and is an absolute must-order. Our third dish was the Birria de Borrego, and it was incredible. The lamb shank was so tender that the bone slid right out with almost no effort. It comes with beans, salsa, and house-made blue corn tortillas so you can build your own tacos. Speaking of the tortillas--they deserve their own praise. They were phenomenal, and we honestly joked about asking for an order to take home. Our final dish was the Camote Asado, which I'd seen recommended all over the internet. Maybe I built it up too much in my head because it ended up being the only dish that didn't blow me away. Don't get me wrong, it was still very good. The sweet potato was perfectly cooked, and the fennel whipped requesón was delicious. My only heads-up for future diners is that some bites pack a surprising amount of heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. I enjoy spicy food, but it's worth mentioning for those who don't! The service was excellent as well. They take your entire order at the beginning of the meal and then thoughtfully pace each course, which made the whole dining experience feel relaxed and intentional. One thing that really surprised me was the value. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, this was incredibly affordable. We ordered four courses between the two of us, and even after tip, our total was only around $120 (we didn't order cocktails). That's an exceptional value for the quality of food and overall experience! Overall, Alma Fonda Fina completely lived up to the hype. Between the incredible execution, creative flavors, intimate atmosphere, and surprisingly reasonable pricing, this has quickly become one of my all-time favorite restaurants. It's easy to see why reservations are so hard to get, and I'll absolutely be back. Next time, I'm hoping to grab a seat at the chef's counter to watch the team in action while working my way through even more of the menu.

The sweet potato still my favorite dish, but I hand to day the queso funfido from the happy hour menu was a close 2nd. If you go 2-5pm, I can't recommend this enough. You have to get it. Same as my 1st time going, I love this restaurant for their great dishes and flavor profiles. I absolutely feel like I'm paying for the food, and not any atmosphere or showsmenship, which for me is an important factor when recommending a restaurant. Only small detail, we got the ceviche as our 4th dish. Given that is sweet due to the coconut milk, I feel this should have been last as a kind-of desert-like dish. Either way, still an absolute gem and must in town

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal!
