Great spot to stop by after a night out at the club or bar. The tacos and Mexican food are honestly a bit overpriced, but the service is quick and friendly. I loved how spacious the place is, and the sauce bar is a huge plus. They do have a potato dish, but surprisingly no French fries. Street parking and there was a parking lot near by. read more

I've been here four or five times and have always left very satisfied. Very authentic, tacos as good as you'd get out of a truck on Federal (which is a compliment). Great sauce bar. The restaurant had a sign stating they're dog friendly, but inside they said only service animals are allowed, and when I stated that my dog is, they asked for a vest or ID, neither of which are required by ADA ordinance, and were told to leave or put the dog outside after I explained that requiring those items is unlawful. read more

You have to remember to ask for water when you order. Utensils and straws are not at the register but in the middle of the store. They have bathrooms in the back. Parking in this area is hard to find if you want a free spot. Most street parking spots are metered. It's better to Uber here and walk around. What to eat here: quesabirria with flour tortilla. You need at least two to be satisfied. The other tacos are an easy pass. The cocktail drinks look pretty and all, but they didn't taste good. We were vacationing in Denver and went out one night to the downtown area. After the lounge we came across this spot on our walk back to the car and wow I am glad we went in. First when you walk in the vibes are very lively. They even have a full bar. The person taking our order gave us great recommendations. The tacos came plain and there was a little add ons area where you could select as many toppings as you wanted. I can't remember exactly what everyone ordered but just take a look at these pics. I am a taco addict. I cook a ton of Mexican style tacos at home with meats and tortillas from the local meat markets, I am always getting tacos at food trucks and restaurants, long story short I really love tacos! Was excited to try this place but at the end of the meal none of us were really all that impressed. The meats didn't seem real fresh, like maybe they were just heating up the leftovers from the prior day or something. The condiment and hot sauce salsa bar was cool with lots of great toppings and choices, but the tacos themselves were just kind of blah. I come here often, food is really good, definitely overpriced but it's good. Birria is amazing. Best michelada I've had in Denver. However - the bar needs some help. The early shift bartenders are great and friendly. But some of the night bartenders can't handle the pace. Sat down at the bar on a Friday night, bartender said he was too busy and to go order at the front desk. I always see this bartender get stressed out when making 2 drinks. I think the system the back has going on is not very efficient, looks like everyone does everything and it causes chaos, leading to bad service. My wife had told me about this place and said it was pretty good so she brought me to try it out. When you walk in and place your order you are greeted by they smell of wood smoke cooking the meat which was an amazing smell! The art work around the restaurant was cool and staff was super friendly. I ordered the lengua tacos and the quesabirria, they were decent but I feel like they lacked seasoning. The quesabirria was better than the lengua which I was bummed about because I absolutely love lengua tacos they are my go to at any taco shop. The lengua here just didn't have a ton of flavor and was a little over cooked and mushy. They weren't horrible just not my favorite, maybe it was just an off day. The quesabirria had good flavor and the meat was extremely tender I'd definitely order them again. It was a little pricey for tacos I think we spent $66 on 8 tacos, which in the world of tacos that's pretty expensive. We did end up getting our car towed while inside which was a $370 bummer so word to the wise don't park in the parking lot next to the restaurant the torcheys tacos employees watch that lot like a hawk and you will have a very expensive taco dinner. All in all the restaurant was decent nothing spectacular maybe it was just an off day as my wife said they were much better the first time she came, I would like to come back and try it again and give it a second chance. read more

Just moved to the area from Phoenix so we were looking for quality Mexican food. I will say the fish taco 5/5 and I have not had birria that good that's not homemade 5/5 they also had a great salsa bar with all the fixings you could want. That being said, the chicharron lacked flavor and the quesadilla did not have enough cheese. From reading reviews I am guessing certain items will rock your world and others will leave you wanting more. I would have definitely given 5 stars if the price did not get in the way but I see why, given the area and price of food nowadays. I'll definitely be going again for the fish taco especially but maybe during happy hour. Ps I enjoyed the decor and even the restrooms had a good vibes. read more

I think this place was just fine. My mom and I stopped in for an early quick dinner and we were the only ones there. I got 2 birria tacos and a shrimp taco. My mom got a steak toastada and the calebacitas taco. To finish we just HAD to get the churros. The music was loud for my taste (especially since it was empty). A few of the light kept flickering giving me the seizure feeling and I really didn't like how the electronic menu kept roaring. If you weren't using the QR code menu on your phone it was hard to look at the menu to figure out what to order cuz it changed so quickly. The cashier also could not hear and asked us to repeat our order like 6 times. My tacos were both good! The birria was nice and juicy and the shrimp was fried, crunchy, and a lil spicy! After attending The Alice: Cocktail Experience at the Salty Dog we stopped next door for dinner. The outside is inviting and the interior is fun with neon pops of color and décor. The restrooms are even cool with dark lighting and neon sayings and quotes in Spanish. You can access the menu from the QR code at the front and then order at the counter. The menu didn't offer the greatest of options in my opinion. They had tacos, quesadillas, baked potatoes, tostadas and a select few other items. We were quite shocked when we got our food. I ordered the pollo papa asada which was a baked potato with cut up chicken pieces on top. It was all very bland and extremely small for the $14 I paid. Thankfully they had a self serve salsa and more bar to spice it up a bit. The other two people in my party ordered a pollo quesadilla and birria quesadilla and for $9 was again super small. Not worth the price at all. Carbon Cabron feels more like a happy hour spot to me, if you're looking to have a nice conversation, drink and small plate. On a high note, the staff are incredibly nice and when they gave us the wrong food item they corrected it immediately. Overall, I hope this new place thrives, but also feel that they need to revise the pricing on certain items in order to do so. read more

Came here for dinner with friends. It was fun - lively music, fun atmosphere! Service was just a little slow. You order at the counter, get all your taco toppings/salsas from a bar on the side, and then grab a table. They bring you your drinks from the bar & tacos from the kitchen. Astounding this place is still in business. Ordered chips and salsa and the house marg, came out to $16, definitely pricy. The "chips" and salsa came on a plate as literally just 6 small tostada shells and an empty paper cup. They straight up don't have chips. You use the paper cup to get salsa from the salsa bar, it was pretty good -- the only redeeming quality of this place. The marg had some weird black rim and was basically just sugar water, would not recommend. The service was crazy slow on a Friday night, and they weren't even busy. I waited maybe 10 min at a table for my marg then went up to the bar where I waited another 10 min while the bartender actively avoided noticing me. Seemed like nobody here had any actual kitchen / restaurant / bar experience and they just brought in their friends. Nobody in the kitchen was wearing gloves either. read more

This was an awesome place to stop for lunch. I had three street tacos of Pescado, birria and pastor. These had to be some of the best tacos I've had in awhile.
