***Unsafe company! Beware*** On Wednesday, April 13, I joined an ATV/Zipline Canopy Puerto Vallarta/Tour with Wild Trek Adventures (same company operates under different names). We met at their office and then set out on ATVs for a 45 minute ride up the mountain. Once at the top, there was a very rustic restaurant, where we were encouraged to order drinks and food, then we set out for the zipline part of the tour. We were given brief instructions by Oliver the tour leader, such as how to hold our bodies when on the line, how to brake and when to not brake. Each zipline had a 'stopper' (a poorly constructed folded over piece of vehicle tire secured with duct tape) at the landing platform, with a worker to grab you and help you disconnect from the line. There were nine lines, and on the eight line, the longest one and over a river, I had an unspeakably terrible accident. About two-thirds of the way down this line, the worker on the platform gave me the braking signal. I proceeded to brake as hard as I possibly could (I work out/lift weights daily and am quite strong) as I headed to the landing platform. Upon approach, the 'stopper' was either not there or not functioning and the worker did not catch me. I hit the pad on the tree at the platform right-foot-first and saw my ankle dislocate and break in two places. I started screaming while rotating in the air in my harness. I was eventually lowered to the ground, screaming for help, an ambulance, medical attention, anything. There was no help to be had. They had to hook me back up to the zipline and two workers held me as they ziplined me to the final platform and carried me back to the restaurant and sat me down. Again, there was nobody there to help me and they had to put me in a full-size ATV with Oliver driving me and my husband 45 minutes back down the mountain over treacherous ruts and bumps that sent me screaming every time my ankle moved. I was taken to an area hospital, and while I lay screaming in the emergency room, Oliver the tour leader and his female associate stood there staring at the harness I was still wearing and asked the nurses if they could remove it from me so they could take it with them. Moving even a centimeter had me screaming again, even with an IV of painkiller that was now hooked up to me. Eventually, the nurses cut it off and gave it to Oliver and his associate. As they left, my distraught husband was offered 170 pesos (about $9USD) for a taxi back to our hotel. No apologies. I had emergency surgery where I was implanted with a titanium bracket and nine screws, then had to remain in the hospital for three nights. Recovery will be long and painful. Wild Trek Adventures is an extremely unsafe operation and I urge anyone reading this to find a different tour company. read more

Never again. Originally we were told about a price and as soon as we got there they added random prices. I don't mind paying insurance and other stuff but it almost felt like a rip off when they kept adding prices for practically anything. Insurance was "optional", however, if you did not pay for it than you had to leave your credit card on hand and they "wouldn't charge anything" unless it was "needed". We didn't feel comfortable leaving our card and they suggested they'd write down all of our card information and we can take our card. Obviously at that point we felt safer to just pay the $25 insurance fee. Then they proceed to ask for a $10 deposit and a ID to rent their face bandanas. When face bandanas were returned they would return your ID and deposit. We ended up departing almost 25 minutes after our designated departure time and soon realized that the majority of the vehicles were not up to date on maintenance. A group of people on our trip had already paid to rent quads and decided last minute that wanted to opt out for razors. The agency claimed none were available until they group decided they were willing to pay extra for one. Suddenly the agency had an extra razor available. It turns out that the razor that was suddenly available was overheating which essentially made the whole group stop every 5 minutes. The tour guide claimed it "wasn't over heating" yet he had coolant in the back of his ranger. The rest of the tour until we got to the top of the mountains consisted of constant "routine check ups" or so that's what the tour guide referred to it as. We got back to the agency to pick up our ID and deposit for the bandanas and the lady at the front desk refused to give the $10 deposit to us because their policy is you turn in an ID OR you pay the deposit. But they made us do both and told us they never received the $10 from us. The agency insinuated we were lying because they stated they had cameras. We asked them to show us the footage to demonstrate we did give the deposit but their IT guys "wasn't available" and neither was the girl that took the bandana money from us. I've done other razor tours at Puerto Vallarta but never have I experienced one as bad as this one. Save yourself from a terrible experience and look into spending a razor tour somewhere else!!!! read more

Let me explain: 1.No shuttle pick up from our hotel. We had to take a taxi (15 min taxi ride, 5km) just to get to the office. 2.The office was a shanti. Nothing like a strong smell of gasoline while waiting to be assigned our vehicle. 3.The trail up the mountain was a dirt road and the view was awful. Trees were covered by dirt and dust. 4.Their highlight summit which they promised was NOT worth the trek, it was a dissapointment. Trash litered the side of the road and up the mountain. 5.Restriction on the use of personal camera and go pro even as a passenger yet the company solicits a prepaid photo pkg for $50. We HAD A BLAST! The Razor off-roading experience was AWESOME! We got to see great views of the local town, rivers, mountains, and explore the nature area. The off-roading was fun and I got to see the real non-tourist part of Puerto Vallarta! The only complain I have is that they really try to sell you the photo package and they keep on reminding you that you can not take pictures with your phone while driving the Razor. I get it if it's the driver, but it does not make sense if it's the co-passenger who is taking pics and videos. I know it's a business, but don't make it ALL ABOUT THE BUSINESS! Shittiest tour in my life PLS don't waste your money & vacation days here.The workers were beyond rude, didn't take us to the "mirador" or the river they had said. The RZR appeared to be in its last days, it kept heating up and made horrible noises. They just take you to this Ranch called Los Abuelos, were you waist 1h 30mins at a manmade waterfall thats full of beer cans and A LOT of giant water spiders, they don't even mention that and it's so unsafe. They have a tequila tasting with the cheapest and nastiest tequila ever. In general, please don't go. This place is a scam. Their machines are pieced together piles of junk. There are no trails, just a dusty country road. I should have been suspicious when they insisted to use H only , never 4wd option. They're really great at wanting to be like parents yelling at you if you try to rub their piles of trash, telling you " did you read the contract? Cant do that. Cant shift to park unless we supervise you or any other gear. The ride is for 3 hrs, but deduct 30 min to drive to dirt road, 90 min to go eat sub par food at a ranch and 1 hr to drive on a dirt road. Dont expect trails or obstacles. It's a real joke stay away. So it was pretty interesting getting here. I was staying at the Vidanta and the taxi driver didnt know where this place was even though I had a map showing where it was. So we had towards the place and I'm thinking, "Oh my gosh where the hell is this taxi driver taking me?" The neighborhood looked like you would get shot. The taxi driver had to pull over to ask for directions, as we drive down a very bad huge pothole road. He finally dropped me off. I went to check in and the lady told me just to go sit down. Was kind of hectic to start... and finish. We were supposed to start at 2pm, but left closer to 240pm. It was crazy riding through town on the regular roads that cars go on. We would sooo get a ticket for this in American. We rode for 30 min, but kept stopping to make sure we stay together in a group. We stopped 10 min for picture on cliff. One time they stopped and yelled at the guy in front of me for having his camera out, they said he would be sent back without a refund.The guy yelled at me for having phone on the ride. I told him that I had it in my backpack and took out for photo of cliff area. They are completely against you taking pictures. They want you to buy their photos. If they catch you taking pictures you will get a warning or they will cancel/send you back for non compliance. After the cliff pics, I was behind an extremely slow person. We all stopped after 8 minutes, the girl was terrified so we had to wait 10 min for them to get someone to drive her razr. Hello dumb broad, if you don't know how to drive 4wd or are afraid than don't make everyone else suffer. We rode about 40 min and stopped where they have a restaurant. Drinks, tequila tasting, food, if you want. Make sure to bring Pesos because they have no internet so can not process credit cards. You can pay with US money though. They said we would have an hour We were stopped from 340pm- 5:35. Some people ziplined in that time. 5:40 someone's razor broke down, we had to sit there for 40 minutes for a truck to come tow it. 620 we left again and got back at about 7 PM. As soon as you arrive you're welcomed with smiles and a team of people who work there that seem wagered to have you there. They guide you each step of the way from the check in to the end. --- first off prepare to get dirty bring shoes and some old clothes that you don't mind getting muddy and if not they have t shirts for sale there about $15-$20 and they do provide you with helmets goggles and bandanas. They give you a walk around the atv or the racers depending on which vehicle you purchased and they give the drivers some tips and instructions, prepare to be out for 5 hours as the tour will take that much time. You will go through mountains and narrow roads but it's all safe because the tour guides will be with you at all times. Side note if you bring kids then make sure to get the Racer it fits 4 people. --- also side note you can't have your phones out and you can't bring a camera or go pro not allowed because it's a distraction. When you get to the ranch there's a restaurant and tequila tasting as well. You will need to bring pesos because lunch isn't provided you must pay it's not that expensive and really good food and they give you a tour of the kitchen as well as the animals they have on the ranch and then you go back, overall great experience we would do it again. My siblings and I had an incredible time! Our uncle signed us up for a 6 hour adventure and there was no looking back! We actually chose this place over Vallarta Adventures because they allowed me to bring my GoPro everywhere. It took about 45 minutes to reach the zip lining trails and the team was VERY safe and professional in ensuring that we knew exactly what to do and how much fun we would have. They even moved our ATV's for us so we could enjoy more trails and get the most out of our time! We went on at least 12-15 different zip line adventures and they got more adventurous as the tour progressed! One of the last ones I was actually upside down laying on my stomach in the air and they called it "superman," which was an indescribable rush- and very long! We finished the tour with home made tortillas (which they showed us how they made) and delicious Mexican food, followed by a tequila tasting session! I had an absolute blast! My mom, roommate and I signed up through a small adventure agency by our home for a three hour ATV trek. When we arrived at Wild Trek, Charlie helped us get situated and all of the paperwork filled out. We were to each have our own ATV as we rode up and into the jungle. The guys were great at getting us safely through the streets of PV while we headed towards the hills. They made sure that we felt safe and comfortable on the ATV's and that we had control over the vehicles. We ended up having to have my roommate join Christopher on his ATV as her control over the vehicle wasn't quite safe enough, and it was much safer for her to ride instead of drive. I honestly think she got to have more fun with him driving as he raced up and down the hills! Our trek took us to this cute little restaurant up in the hills, with a swimming hole and waterfall. The water was warm and fresh. The guys joined us and jumped in to cool off and my crazy mother even jumped off the rock that was about 15-20 ft up and into the water! We ordered the quesadilla and tacos at the restaurant, and they were delicious. The trek also includes a tequila tasting that everyone seemed to be greatly enjoying, and if you buy a bottle (or 8!) the funds go to a good cause. The drive back was fun, Mayo took pictures and videos as we came down the hill, and gave us a great deal for them all. I had a good time here, check in was easy. The drive was nice. Once you get to your final destination you are able to eat at a restaurant, and there is a tequila tasting. It did rain that day so if that does happen I recommend getting the atv w a covering so try and be first when you check in. This place is horrible!! Do not use their service, we are staying at Riu Vallarta and they have a rep booth here. Everything else at the hotel has been great so we sign up for this adventure pay $400 US for 4 of us to do the ATV and zip lining. We sign up for the morning tour we have to take taxi to some random gas station and he drops us off to wait for a shuttle. Our taxi driver was great he explained never get in an unmarked car and showed us a picture of what the shuttle drivers uniform looks like. There we are waiting for 15 minutes and this unmarked open shuttle shows up guy hopes off wearing a maroon tee no logo neon green mask no form of ID. He asked if we were the tour and we immediately felt uneasy and said you know what we're no comfortable and called an Uber. We get to the Hotel and talk to the guy who sold us the tickets he said he has to contact his manager. She finally calls him back and we explain we want a refund. She states no refunds it said so on the ticket we explained it's not like we just decided not to show up you sold us something that was nothing that was described to us. She stated you Americans are so paranoid and always paint Mexico bad. We are Mexican and come a couple times a year back to Mexico we have never had this encounter. We are not nieve either and blind to what happens everywhere not just In Mexico. She stated the truck did have a logo and the guy had it under his sweater lies. We just want a refund she said she would call us back around 3:00 pm we go back to the counter and the rep call her we again go back and forth. She says she will arrive at the RIU hotel at 4 to discuss this further to no surprise the rep leaves immediately after the call and she does not show up. How she manages all 3 Riu hotels recreational activities is beyond us with that horrible customer service. read more

This place was sketchy. Our hotel booked this for us, then robbed me of $200 but that's another story. Taxi picked us up from the hotel and took us to another hotel to pick up another group. Charge is $5 round trip per person. When we arrived at the Wild Trek Adventures it seemed fine everyone was friendly place was very beautiful. Staff led us to lockers and told is that we could put our items away IF we'd like. I decided to keep my fanny pack on and my boyfriend wanted to have his go-pro on. Same guy saw this and returned with another guy and this guy told us you can't take anything with you. He's definitely got some tension with myself and the other group there was a back-and-forth about it.So I told him I wasn't going to take my fanny pack off because I was carrying my inhaler. He made the other group and everyone aside for myself check their bags in. Then you get to the ATVs and a camera guys waiting there he approaches us and says hi I am the camera guy to take pictures for you guys if you want you can purchase them. We were polite and smiled, he then asked yes or no. We were at a loss for words, I told him I need to see them first. He said that's not how they do it, we had to buy first. We declined immediately. Instructors name was Emmanuel he was OK he drove us around and showed us where to go let us get all muddy and stuff which is fine. This place is an all that aside from the scamming at the beginning. They have a nice farm and ranch that has lots of animals like water buffalo, horses, cats, alligator, turkeys, bull and many others. I made a reservation for this tour at Plaza Lago Real. I paid the full price in cash, which was clearly a mistake. The agent gave me the wrong time to arrive, and told me he would send me the address on my phone. He did not. I started trying to find the location at about 3:30 this morning and when I got there they were less than helpful and told me the tour already left and I had to reschedule. Got approached in Puerto Vallarta on the beach about an ATV tour. Was told to pay deposit and other half the next morning dress comfortable and a taxi would be outside waiting outside resort, everything included expect for the taxi ride back to hotel. Fine. Got to the check in with the girls who were really annoying with the check in process. Now we're being told we need our ID/DL and a CC to keep on file for any damages. We had neither so I had to leave a $40 refundable deposit. Fine. I did not drive an ATV but I rode on the back which I assumed should be cheaper, it wasn't. Fine. The actually trip was good, riding thru PV streets into the mountains, a mid break, a ride up then a ride to the restaurant. And then it soured. At the beach we were told lunch was included with the tequila tasting. Not the case. 1 chicken quesadilla, 1 tequila shot, 1 mango (all sweet) margarita equaled $30 USD. Smh. Moving on to the tequila tasting... which was more like a tequila viewing... not even a half of shot was poured only enough for you to taste it on your tongue. Then had nerve to asked how many bottles would we like to purchase. Hahaha. The last part I also want to mention is we bought all of the pictures the camera guy took and when I tell you that an iPhone 6 could've taken better pics! Another waste of $40 for pictures that are dark and not even in good focus. The ATV riding experience was fun but pass on the lunch and DONT buy the pics! No wonder we couldn't see them on the laptop. I thought the screen was dark, nope just really bad pictures. read more

Riding on the street was a hoot, the lookout was amazing. These dirt roads you travel upon are fine for novice riders. Tequila tasting.....yea it's a tasting you other idiots!! They not gunna give you 8 full shots of tequila and send you on your way back, that's just ridiculous! I thought the staff and guides were very nice. We have now gone on two tours with Wild Treks, both on RZRs, but two different courses and we had a blast both times. A couple things to mention: They seem a little disorganized during check in. We ended up waiting for close to 45 minutes after we arrived because they kept waiting on another group that was late. While it was annoying, it wasn't enough to make us leave. Many of the roads and trails we were on are pretty well traveled with other vehicles, and there was quite a bit of stop and go, which takes away a bit from the adventurous part of it. I would love to see them expand into some more private areas where we could really get some speed and get moving. The vehicles are not in great shape. There was about 6 inches of slop in the steering wheel, and it takes quite a bit of time to adjust to having to turn the wheel so hard. The motors lag a lot at lower speeds, and we even had a couple of big backfires during our ride. They had obviously just washed ours down before they took us out, which is great, except that the back of my seat was quite saturated, and by the time we were done the entire back of my shirt and pants were soaked. They don't let you take your own pictures while in the vehicle. I understand that the driver shouldn't be doing this, but the passenger should be able to take whatever pictures they like. They really push the photography package on you, but the photos weren't that great, most were slightly blurry, nothing I would pay 30USD for. Other than that, we had a great time. The restaurant was nice, clean bathrooms, and well priced drinks (we didn't eat so I can't attest to that). They guides make sure that everyone is always safe, especially in higher traffic areas. All that being said, we would definitely do it again. It's great to see a bit of the outskirts of the town and the views from the mountain are beautiful. Beware, you WILL need a shower immediately afterward because it is one dusty ride! read more

We had an hour long atv ride to the zip lining location and got to do some great tricks on the lines, riding over great rivers. The staff at Wild Treks was nothing short of phenomenal! I booked the combo ATV Ride and Zip Line Excursion. All of the guys were extremely helpful and they explained instructions clearly and in detail. The issue I have with the company is their policy against using your own GoPro. This was my first time doing either so I wanted to capture the moments with my personal GoPro but was obviously unable to. They have their own person who comes along and takes pictures along the way but it is not the same as having live video! Secondly, the guy approached me at the end of the zip line adventure while I was eating to show the pictures and discuss pricing. I asked if I could see after I was done eating and he said he was about to leave so I stopped eating to look through the pictures. The pricing was outrageous!!! He wanted $30 per picture or $100 for all of them. Given the two choices it obviously made more sense to get all of them for $100 but I feel that is far too much for decent at best photos!!! I paid $30 total for all of the photos I got from a different photographer two days earlier during a different excursion and his were far better quality!!! To make matters worse, the very same photographer was at the office when we returned so I could have looked at the photos at that time instead of rushing through them to make a decision and having my food get cold. Lastly, the guy gave me a receipt for the transaction and told me I would receive the pictures by email within 24 -48 hours. Today makes DAY SIX and I have yet to get my pictures!!! The other photographer emailed my photos within 30 minutes!!! Although the staff was excellent I would recommend finding a company that allows you to take your own pictures and video if possible. read more

Let me start by saying this is not my first time on an ATV adventure. My experience with this particular company was not favorable. It began with a very disorganized registration process. After signing papers, we sat and waited and waited and waited. There was no explanation for the wait. We did not receive proper instruction on how to operate the ATV. Instead, we got a 2 minute briefing before we were rushed to get on the vehicle. We did not feel safe. The incline up the mountain seemed sketchy and the whole time we were rushed to go faster and stay super close to each other. Not safe. The guides seemed annoyed by our inability to drive up the mountain at record speed. Rather than continue, we opted to stop and be escorted back. As previously stated, I've gone ATVing while on vacation. This was my first experience where I felt unsafe. When we arrived back at the office we were instructed to write a letter saying that we agree that we will not get a refund and that our return was not their fault. We wrote the letter simply to get the heck out if there. I do not recommend this company. I specifically do not recommend the ATV adventure where you go up the mountain, unless you are an extreme adventurer. I recognize that at some point we will all die however, if given a choice I prefer to not die by falling off the side of a mountain. read more

We rode the razor and enjoyed every minute of it.. prepare to get very dusty and it's a good idea to bring bug spray. Wild Treks Adventures - Tours Near Me - Puerto Vallarta, JAL

We had a group of 9 and booked the ATV/Zip Line tour with Wild Treks Online prior to arriving in Puerto Vallarta. When we arrived, they had a van take us to another location. When we got there we sat around a bit before having to sign all the waivers and things of that nature. We sat around a bit more and then it was time to go. We did ATV first. I decided I didn't want to drive my own ATV at the time and they let me know it was fine but I wouldn't get any refunds which was completely fine since I was set on not driving. I ended up riding in the back of my Bf's ATV and I do not regret my decision not the drive at all. The roads were so intense.. I had a great time just going along for the ride. The ride is pretty long up to the restaurant where you can order food for an additional price. We were taken in the RAZR's to our first point for zipline which was pretty close by. The ziplines were great. There are a total of 10 lines and only one where you really had to hike up a hill to get to. The guys who run these treks were great, expect a few week kind of rude when trying to let me know I wasn't braking properly, while the other guys said it was fine.. kind of upset me the way they were talking to me but whatever. Tried to call in and ask where to meet. They said get a taxi and tell them jarretuderas oxxo. I asked them where is that and she didnt know. I'm not kidding the person who answers the phone doesn't know where the pickup place is and doesn't know the address. read more

I know there are two different routes but we did the "easier" one and it was AMAZING. Started off in the city and loved seeing part of the town then went into the mountains to see beautiful views. Stopped at an adorable restaurant nestled in the forest with a beautiful stream and swimming hole and delicious food and drinks! Ended there with tequila tasting (that coffee tequila is amazing). Then took the same route back. Our guide was wonderful. Our experience may be different than the norm as we came in September when COVID was still a concern and my husband and I were the only ones on the ATVs and one couple in a dune Buggy. So may be different with a larger group but I still highly recommend! read more
