Overall, we enjoyed staying here. Although, I definitely would not consider the little ponds lakes, they did lend a nice ambiance. I liked the waterfowl; and my cat loved watching them out the windows. Our site (#130) was quite large. I enjoyed spending time outside and at the pool. I wasn't thrilled that the store was not open, anytime I stopped by during our entire stay. I did like receiving texts to update us about resort activities. The only major problem we encountered was the horrible bathhouses. We tried two, but they were both very cramped with only a single shower stall. And, they were filthy. read more

Not worthy of a return. Rude staff at check in. We had pull through sites (traveled with friends) they could put us together? We were there two days and we had empty sites next to each other the entire time. Very poor navigation while inside Park. ( No exit signs at all so we were constantly going in circles. ) More full time OLD rigs with lots of garbage around thir rigs. Almost like hoarders collections. Probably the biggest problem was geese and duck population. Poop everywhere and the noice level starting at 5:30 am through dusk. Trash pickup finally did come.... someone finally weekwhacked weeds (no grass whatsoever) Trash, cigarettes butts, glass everywhere. Sorry Thousand Trails, I know you can do so much better!! read more

I have now camped at Wilderness Lakes twice since obtaining my Thousand Trails membership in April 2025. All I can say to Thousand Trails Corporate is "READ THE ROOM!" I had the bad fortune to spend a week there during a severe heat event in the Inland Empire, from July 26 - August 6. Over 100 degree weather from Wednesday to Sunday. Zero effort on the part of the park to help the campers through this difficult heat event. The majority of campers in the park are over 50. Some of us have compendium of health issues. Perhaps Rangers could have checked to be sure people were okay? Perhaps they could have stocked with cold water to offer? Perhaps been clear that people are going to physically NEED to be out of the heat? What about checking on pets? Not every single one of us have AC. Not every single one of us has a freezer. Tent campers, vintage rv's, and some types of rigs, do not have AC. My experience at other parks, is that the rangers pay attention to elders, and loop through tent site areas being sure everyone is okay during snow, windstorms, thunderstorms, and extreme weather events. To waive occupancy and pet rules on a day when it is 105 so that everyone had a chance to be invited into AC during the peak of the heat, would have made sense. I was BITTERLY disappointed to go to the camp store and find they did not stock coffee or 1/2 gallons of ice cream, or ANYTHING. And as a matter of fact, were going to be closing the store. REALLY?? Not all of us have a car!! Many families share one vehicle. Some of us have a health issue that precludes us from driving anymore. Many of us use an RV moving service. The closest MTS bus stop, to access outside stores, is a 1.6 mile walk. Not all of us are capable of that, especially in 100 degree heat. Does Thousand Trails Corporate have a CLUE who their members are?? And what their members need? I know for certain that these needs are accomodated for, understood, and well cared for at other TT parks. Especially health safety during major weather events. I do not know what is going on at Wilderness Lakes, but they are making bad decisions. Corporate is making bad decisions for them. My experiences at this park will make me avoid this park at ALL COSTS, in the future. I would rather boondock than be treated as disposible. read more

For us this is a place to park our camper wile we visit our family for the holidays. We did walk around and see the amenities. They are good I suppose. The pools were clean. The bathrooms were locked. They change the code weekly so to be safer. Our campsite had no picnic table but we didn't need one since it rained our whole trip. It kinda looked like a neighbor camper had two tables so maybe someone needed two before we arrived. There are campsites that flooded during the storm. Kinda typical. We were only staying for three nights so I can't vouch for anything longer. We did get lost looking for our campsite every time we needed to find it. It's hard to figure out how to get around in this place. Very dark at night and very quiet which I loved. read more

I made a campground reservation in February for a waterfront 30 amp site to start Monday for a week. I received a confirmation email in February from Thousand Trails Wilderness Lakes but today, 2 days before we leave, I receive an email that my reservation is changed to a non-waterfront 50 amp site. I called Thousand Trails customer service and they tell me campgrounds can change my reservation and they can't help me. We bought our first RV in 2012, travelled 49 states and 8 provinces and this has never happened. My advice to anyone considering purchasing a Thousand Trails membership ... Don't! Our membership is free after buying a new RV last year, and we won't waste money purchasing a membership. read more

Wow, I'm shouting from the rooftops. I can't even explain how awesome these folks are at thousand trails wilderness Lakes. I want to start off with saying that Mike and Irma are the best customer Service reps to ever get the pleasure of their service. We had just left another campground because it was not suitable for us and they offered no Wi-Fi on their premises i'm sure it wasn't they're doing but it did not suit us, However it worked out well. We came to meet thousand trails wilderness Lakes and we are so glad we got the opportunity to do so. We would recommend this RV park to anyone we know, including family. They were so accommodating, I sprung my visit on them and they were glad to oblige my husband and I. We were so tired of trying to make things work at the other campground so we had no choice but to move but again happy that we ran into thousand trails wilderness Lakes , thank you Mike and Irma at the front desk to make this so easy for us. This has been a great place to stay for me going on 7 years now. I've seen consistent improvement roads paved most spaces are leveled and those that aren't with a little help easy to fix it. This was my first experience exposing my own family to Thousand trails. We rented a cabin (or cottage). Two of the pools were out of service due to remodeling. Remodeling to two of the resort pools will continue with an anticipated date of July 4th opening. We partook in the magic show, shuffle board, mini golf, candy bingo, and other activities offered. I strolled over a lot of reviews from prior guests, so I came with low expectations. The employees were helpful and attentive. Big props to all the employees. I hope the employees see this message. It makes a big difference when you can articulate and the employees are responsive. This was my husband's first experience at a Thousand Trails resort and he asked if we could make this an annual stay for Father's Day weekend. My other set of kids have decided to live the RV life and this is the second site they have stayed at. This place is pretty cool. If I could review a zero...I would. You have kids knocking on your Coach door begging to charge $2 to empty your trash....are you kidding me? Lifetime membership costing 8k and $743 per year to maintain and you can't get 50amp.... or you get the tiniest....worst unmaintained space for an A class. Wilderness Lakes is a joke ran by control that cares nothing about the people who paid for it! Anyone looking to purchase a TT membership should run. Promises..promises! All lies and they change the rules...now an exhausting run down camp ground. 30amps get a 50 amp....they have no common sense. They have proclaimed to be a high use park and limit the lifetime memberships who had 3 weeks but now forced 2 weeks. If you purchase one of their new packages such as Journey...WOW! You have access to 3 weeks during the high use but the lifetime memberships don't now. How can they justify a high use park? By taking the rights away from the lifetime memberships who already paid for it!! AND....update...if they scheduled you 3 wks during this time by memberships services 120 days before?? You will get a warning letter that you violated "their" NEW adopted policy that we never signed up for when writing a check for $8k in 2021. Unbelievable.....TT should be ashamed of themselves. This place used to be awesome. This has turned out to be a complete disaster and disappointment. Used to be able to drive around and choose your site. Not anymore. They now choose a site for you. Says the members wanted it. I didn't vote for it. I never got a ballot. When we left last week, Cory told me he booked me in a 50 amp pull through. When we came back today, we were not in that site and were given a site that our 40 foot toy hauler would not fit in. I talked to Jackie, the manager, and she offered 2 other sites that were back in that would never have worked. I asked her about the row of 30 amp pull throughs and she was not even aware that the entire row was pull throughs. Are you kidding me? A member knows more about the park than the manager??? I talked to a friend who has a 40 bus and they tried to place him in an occupied spot, then a 30 amp spot when he clearly needed a 50 amp. And this system was supposed to eliminate small 30 ampers taking the 50 amp spots. There are several small campers taking 50 amp spots. I asked if we could move to a pull through 50 amp when available and was told no, that they were all assigned. But you took my assigned site and gave it to someone else. And all I got from Jackie was the standard heartless "I am so sorry". Then I was told I can request the type of site when I book online but there is no guarantee I will get it. This is so frustrating. I cannot take this total incompetency from management. And they turn the water off with no warning. They have no idea what they are doing and I can only blame piss poor training and management. This review is going to corporate. On a positive note, the gentlemen at the gate are amazing. This is our most favorite thousand trails to visit thus far. We love the space between each site and all of the fun activities they have.

Horrible. What used to be a wonderful experience is ruined by many factors. Number 1 being assigned a space and having to beg for one closer to family. We have been members and coming here for almost 30 years and never had an issue with camping next to family. No shaded space available even though many sat empty for the 3 day weekend. We had to search for an ash/hot coal can, rules are ignored, aggressive dogs remain unleashed, dog poop everywhere. No greeting or wave from staff. Store closed. Rec room closed. Manager unavailable. Speeding through the campground is ok. No helmet rule. Weeds abound. Trashy junk rigs allowed. Rig washing ok in site space. All these issues make for a miserable camping experience. Thousand Trails doesn't care. No adult pool anymore. Rude and uncaring staff. No patrols. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. This is the worst Thousand Trails I have ever been to. There is no security and the place is unsafe. Not to mention the extremely rude staff. The pool is closed, general store has barely anything inside and the entire ground is awful. Our electric scooters were stolen and the manager showed no compassion or care. One of our favorite destinations when going from one Thousand trails to another. Enjoy watching the geese and duck paddle around in the canals. Our walks through the park is always enjoyable. I like it has a fitness center. It also had pickle ball courts, basketball courts, a miniature golf course, 2 pools , and playground for the kiddos. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Great location, park was clean was a little leery based off of the reviews, but definitely did not reflect. The only thing I would say that needs a little improvement would be the signage for what spots are for weekenders/long term street signs were a little confusing to figure out what spots were for which. This is due to not have assigned spots which Is nice because you can basically pick any spot you want, but like I said was a bit confusing. Host texting for updates about things happing in the park is a nice touch. Will be staying again! read more

Loved this place!! We live in MoVal, and looked for somewhere to go on a last minute trip. This place hit it out of the ball park, having tons to do for the kids (and as a family). They have tons of different supplies for crafting, they have items to borrow for mini golf, chalking, bubbles, basketball, pickle ball, pool tables, shuffle board, and more. The night we arrived there was a (good) magic show! Then on Saturdays at 1, they play "candy bar bingo" (it was a hit!) I am very happy with how helpful and informative the staff was! Although pricey, (we paid $80 for our site-and cross your fingers there is a site open where you want, since they do not assign you a site) this place was worth it! I am a member of Thousand Trails, but that really doesn't mean much. These are not "private" camp sites. More often than not, there are more public spaces available than member spaces. Lately, it just looks like a homeless encampment. Not enough 50 amp sites. It doesn't help when rigs that don't need a 50 amp site take one. You also can't reserve a 50 amp site. So 99% of the time a full timer is on that spot that doesn't need it. What that means is your rig will not operate at full capacity. We most likely will not renew our yearly pass if this doesn't change. Main reason we have it was to use in FL. That location was amazing. They also assign spots and actually follow the rules of maintaining your site and your rig. read more

Nope, do not waste your time here. Traveling with my family who have been on the road for 8 months traveling and are Thousand Trails members. We have not seen an RV park this bad in all of California so far. The pool chlorine levels were so high that it bleached all of our swimwear, and left kids itching and crying at night. The laundry facilities smelled like urine, had random belongings left behind, and half of the machines were out of order. Dingy and gross. Sites are also formatted poorly, there is no availability, and patrons are parked improperly causing issues for any new arrivals. The campground is poorly maintained, not clean, and appears to have issues with management and security. the first impression was marred by the rundown appearance of the entrance and common areas. The campground is not clean. Trash was scattered around the sites, and the dumpsters were overflowing. The restrooms were particularly unpleasant, with a noticeable lack of regular cleaning. The atmosphere was uncomfortable due to a group that regularly parties in the campground created a disruptive environment with loud music, late-night noise, and unruly behavior. This group's presence, combined with the overall neglect, made the campground feel more like a trailer park than a relaxing retreat.. read more

Stayed in a Cabin that slept 6 for two nights with my husband. The space was lovely. Unfortunately the amenities such as towels, bedding, pillows, and mattresses were very dissappointing. The towels were tiny, scratchy, and dingy. The pillows were flat and unsupportive. The bedding was odd (it seemed like someone's personal blankets and not hotel/lodging bedding) and the sheets were scratchy as well. I reverted to just using the sheets because I wasn't sure how clean the blankets were. The matress on the main bed was loud and you could feel the springs as soon as you sat/layed down on it. I ended sleeping on a single bunk because I was so uncomfortable. Unfortunately I would have loved to recomment 1000 trails to others but I can't. I was wondering if we might enjoy having a membership however, after this stay I will not be persuing that option. With a little effort this space could have been an amazing option but I will stick with hotels for now so that I don't have to endure this again. read more

Our family came and spent 3 nights in April 2024. I was concerned because the last time we were here the place looked like it was abandoned. The weeds were so high and there were a lot of sites that did not have power. Now, we saw a lot of improvements: it seems that they are maintaining the campground. It seems that they are cutting the weeds. The restrooms are cleaned. We love this park and its location. It is in the middle of everything. Pros- Park Rangers were very helpful and friendly. They spent time answering our questions and giving recommendations. The canal spots are so nice and relaxing. Cool birds! The pools were warm and we didn't have any problems with any guests. Propane available to purchase on site. So many great activities to do- pickle ball, mini golf, fishing, playground, biking, swimming, volleyball, basketball, etc. Great for families. We saw many workers out cleaning during our stay. Campfires were allowed (might change due to fire danger) but must have a screen on top of fire pit. Fire pits weren't provided on our site or the other sites I saw. Cons- Some amenities shut down due to Covid and other reasons, including Camp Store. A few birds had fishing line tangled around their legs and were limping. Clean up after yourselves please! Our site had a propane utility on the site which wasn't the greatest but we took the spot since it was one of the last on the canals. They go fast and we got in late. read more

So I'm not one to leave reviews. But I have had enough of the disrespect from some of the people who stay hear for 7 months out of the year. Today my children and myself were harrassed once again by a guy named Dave and another gentleman about my kids jumping into the pool. This pool use to be an adult pool only. But now families with children are welcome...... apparently not to these 2 gentleman. Or should I say disrespectful old men. They made my kid's feel bad about having fun and being there. They made them feel uncomfortable and My kids wanted to leave. But I will not be bullied at my age and neither will my kids. So we stayed and played. My kids were no where near them. We were on the other side of the pool. They started going off about my kids breaking the rules because they were jumping in the pool. When in reality they broke the rules. They didn't shower before they got in, and They had flotation devices. No where on the rules did it say no jumping. It said no running, diving or horse playing. None of which was happening. These men verbally attacked myself, another dad, and our kid's. And I've heard from other families that these men have done the same to them. Then these men went on about how they are going to complain about us and we are going to get our memberships taken away. What's sad is these old guys have more say about thousand trails and are valued more by the rangers at wilderness lakes then the families that go there 2 enjoy them selves. This has to stop. Thousand trails should not have people hear that make their happy camper miserable. These old men are bad for business. I'm going to climb the corporate ladder with this. If the people that work hear don't handle it. I'll be sure someone does. Thousand trails supports bullying and disrespect to families with kids. Oh and another thing. The lady who works there and cooks their food. Pam from Pam's kitchen. Is a huge jerk. I have a parrot and it got out and landed on her roof. She refused to let me get it. She wouldn't let me Barrow her ladder. She wouldn't let me on her 5th wheel. Then she called the rangers after she was so rude and complained about me. Then the ranger came over and defended her. There needs to be new people who work here that don't love here. The rangers are all in cahoots with all the people who live here all the time because they live here full time. I am sorry all but I have to be honest, this place has gone down hill . I just want to touch on Grounds maintenance. First I would like to say it's lacking at the Pickleball and Basketball courts . Adults and kids have to do the sweeping and net maintenance. Sites need to be cleaned as people leave them with personal items and garbage . Please try to leave it better then you find it . And pick up after your pet. Please don't use other persons sites as your dogs bathroom. There is a dog park centrally located with bags ! The kids play area says NO DOGS ALLOWED and yet adults still bring their pets inside . The garbage that's there on Monday will still be in there on Friday . The pool area is 7-10 but clearly can see that staff doesn't bother to wipe or spray down reclining chairs . And there needs to be more and noticeable signage stating TAKE SHOWER B4 One gets into pool or spas ! There are a few of the older maintenance guys that seem to ride around in the carts and talk to people and ride some more I've watched them just go round and round as I sit by the pool . I won't say any names but their hair is white .. Staff at entrance are nice . read more

I am a thousand trails member and have been to several most are nice the best one as far as the staff, cleanliness and overall is south jetty in Oregon In California turtle beach followed by Morgan Hill Worst in California so far wilderness lakes in Menifee With the exception of one ranger and the ranger who runs the store who were awesome the rest of the staff is so-so the park is so-so and you can't leave anything outside because it will be gone when you wake up in the morning, nice pools, activities center is closed most of the time, laundry is ok but make sure you have quarters there is a change machine in the activity center but closed most of the time read more

Biggest drawback here, and it's a big one, is that almost every 30 Amp pedestal is damaged, burnt. I check before disconnecting and sometimes I move, but they're basically all damaged so you're only going to find one that is less damaged. I'm always tripping breakers because of this. NEVER happens at any other campground, and I've replaced my own cable and surge protectors a couple times, so I know it's the campground pedestals. I've contacted them about it but they don't seem to care. Not that big a deal to go and replace them. I have a friend who does that himself everytime he goes there, then changes back when he leaves. We love Thousand Trails. But staff and the park are hands down one of the worst ones we have visited.

Why do people leave bad reviews because of things unrelated to the running of the park? Yes it was hot this year... it was hot everywhere. It was 100 in San Diego too! Why would you leave a bad review because it was hot in California? How is TT supposed to fix the weather? This park is in a rural area of Menifee and there is a beautiful farm opposite. This year they grew watermelons. When the cracked ones sit in the field they attract flies for a few weeks. The flies are not constant like some of these reviewers would have you believe. In 50 years of camping all over the world I have never, not seen flies, wasps, mosquitos, gnats that bite, ants, spiders etc. That IS camping. This park only gets flies a few weeks a year, that's all. The canals contain large healthy fish so the water is not stagnant or dirty as some suggest. Nobody constantly skims a fishing lake to get the leaves out of the corners, that's ridiculous. But they do skim and clean the lakes periodically. Know what a fishing lake is supposed to look like before you leave a bad review and damage the reputation of honest people. No matter where you go in public locations you might encounter rude or annoying, self-centered people. Sometimes the rude and annoying person is the one leaving bad reviews for things out of the control of the staff. Why would you leave a bad review for the park because another guest annoyed you? That isn't a review of the park, its a review of some old guy named Dave. Don't go scorched earth because you didn't get along with another guest. While the park is clean and well maintained with good amenities for a park in this price range, if you thought Menifee was a vacation destination you didn't do your homework. Its a flat field with full hookups, trees and fishing lakes near a freeway half way between Los Angeles and San Diego. People mostly stay here to have affordable access to the major southern California destinations. Did someone really leave a review and complain because they control the snakes in the park and they saw ground squirrels? Yeah, you're right lets leave the rattlers to thrive in the park to pick off the baby squirrels. Brilliant idea! Your kids will love that. This park is everything you should expect for the location and price. The staff are usually pleasant and friendly and astonishingly patient with the types of people who complain that its a hot day and they saw some squirrels while arguing with fellow guests at the pool. read more

Pros: -Clean bathrooms and showers -Lots of ducks, geese, fun birds to look at -Plenty of spots to park with full hookup (this place is huge) -Close to stores -Dogs allowed -Open fields nearby to let your bigger dogs roam (not for small dogs because they could get lost in the brush or eaten by a snake or coyote) Cons: -SO MANY FREAKING FLIES (like more than you'll ever see in your life) -Have to give the front check-in office your driver's license to use the gym, cannot schedule a time slot, and have to wait for there to not be anyone in the gym to use. The gym is very small. -It smells like fish (ew) -No recycling bins (although plenty of hot ash bins) Update suggestions: -Mirrors in the bathrooms -Hooks for the showers -Adjustable or removable showerheads. I'm 5'7" and stood on my tippy toes to adjust the showerhead. Anyone shorter would have a big issue. -Add a pull-up bar, kettlebells, and dumbbells to the little gym. -OFFER RECYCLING -more fly traps (there are some and they are FULL) or build bat houses so they can help naturally keep the population down read more

The employees at Wilderness Lakes are rude and make up their own rules, rather than follow the rules of the park. They discriminate and profile based on what RVs and people look like. Employees of Wilderness lakes will be on the clock but not doing their job, instead in their own RV, or sitting in the back in the maintenance area. Only one Jacuzzi is open in the kids pool (the other one is blocked off with caution tape and has been like that for weeks). The horse-shoe pits are not well maintained. Instead of picking up the leaves they are just raked up and left in piles. The kick ball field has not been mowed, and cannot be used because of the thorns. the volleyball's court sand has not been turned in a couple years, there are bushes and weeds growing out of the dirt. Many of the bathrooms are not well maintained. In the men's restroom in the back of the park the drains are backing up because they are not cleaned regularly and toilets are frequently backed up. In the men's and the women's restroom's across the park there are soap dish falling off the walls and that need repairs and holes in the walls. Some windows don't have screens in them. Some bathroom doors have key code locks to prevent homeless people from using the bathrooms rather than relying on the security guards to do their jobs OR hiring more security with money from membership dues. 1/3 of the sites are being leased out but only the gated spots are supposed to be leased out stopping paying members from using spaces that should be available for regular member usage. The squirrel population is infesting the park because the park employees have been killing the native snake species instead of relocating. read more

I said no and their tone quickly changed. The lady didn't really care to help me. I called again as asked if we needed a fishing license and they answered "Ranger station" So I say I'm sorry i thought i was calling Wilderness lakes. She said again" yes ranger station!" So i say i'm sorry i'll look for a different number. She again said" yes wilderness lakes ranger station!" in very rude tone. I told her I've never been there so I assume i'm calling Wilderness lakes and not a ranger station. I got upset, I didn't expect to call a business and have a bad start right from the beginning. They don't require fishing licenses but they do charge and extra $12 dollars for fishing no matter the age. What a scam. Upon our arrival, I pull up and a man asks are you member? I told him not a member and he said "Oh you're not a member? okay" Then some other older man walks toward my RV, doesn't say a word and tells me to go find a spot and let them know which one i got but its limited to where you can go. I start driving and a golf cart comes chasing me down. Now this part is my fault but it shouldn't have gone this way. The old man says you don't have current tags on your RV you have to leave. I said they're updated i just lost the tags but they are current. So he waits right by my window and says he needs proof or i would have to leave. I had to ask him to give me space and i'll look them up on the DMW website a total of 3 times. He was so close to me and my window i felt super uncomfortable. After a few minutes I show him proof and went on our way. The camp itself is small. The water is extremely green and dirty. I noticed a lot of full time campers which i'm not a fan of because they usually have junk all around their site. Playground was closed off. THere is not much to do. The best part of the trip was the mini golf which is surrounded by mud. Overall i would advise any family with kids to not camp here. Not worth the 179 dollars for two nights. This is definitely a journey stop, not the destination. We were here 3 nights and hardly saw any people out. It seems like over half the people here live here permanently so it's not really a vacation vibe. Also it's hot as heck with hardly any shade, and one hour max of pool time a day. But it has full hookups which is a plus, so you can sit inside and run your AC? Just a super weird atmosphere. Lots of trump yelling at your kids drunk type people around, if anyone is even out. read more
