I had the lobster nachos and my husband had the swordfish sandwich, both were delicious! Fair warning the lobster nachos are huge and have a good deal of lobster on them! We sat by the beach so our son was able to play around in the sand and expel some energy while we waited for our food. Our waitress was amazing with him. When she brought out his mac & cheese, she called him up to eat, joking she was going to eat it if he didn't come quick. She saved us the hassle of attempting to get him up from the beach. She also took him to wash his hands before eating, as he had sand all over them. It was such a pleasant experience, with great food. I highly recommend Chatham Bars Inn for their food quality and service!

We started with the raw bar: oysters, clams and tuna tartar. Then moved on to steamers and mussels. We finished with steak and swordfish. After a very satisfying meal, with attentive staff, we relaxed on the beach next to a bonfire with Smores for the kids. The kids then all banned together for a game of hide and seek in the dark while the parents relaxed with a night cap. It was a truly wonderful experience. A must do for anyone visiting the cape.

Its history dates back to 1914 when stockbroker Bostonian, Charles Hardy, developed this private property for the purpose of a luxurious seaside hunting lodge. Fast forward to 2026 and Chatham Bars Inn is consistently rated high among luxury resorts, has won numerous awards and offers something for the very young, old and everyone in between. It's always a relaxing stay, and an expensive resort for its offering. Where they could do a bit better for the high cost of the stay: *My son and daughter in law had their spa time cancelled - and not by my son or daughter in law. The Spa fortunately corrected their error when my son showed his confirmation. The Spa offered a later time. *Working undercounter room refrigerators. Ours was not working. *There was a blown transformer in the area that impacted the room of two in our group. Communication is key during power outage events such as this during record heat. The power outage also impacted the plumbing in their building. Several nights comped eased the pain! Just a few of the many offerings: *Family experiences *Boating excursions and experiences *Private clam bakes *Spa, sauna, fitness room *Seasonal events *Private fishing charters *On the city of Chatham July 4th parade route *Numerous onsite restaurants from fine dining to casual beach side *Numerous bars throughout the property. *Poolside cabanas *Beachside service, lounge chairs and beach umbrellas. The location, hydrangeas, decor, ambiance... it's nice. We had our 1.5year old daughter, 4 adults, and a few hours of time we were hoping to burn on the patio bar. We snagged a patio table overlooking the sunset around 3:30. My daughter was able to move around, we got to enjoy the beautiful weather, and it was very comfortable to relax outdoors. Three watermelon margaritas later and pizzas started coming out of the oven. Pizzas were actually very delicious - at least the best pizza you could find anywhere on the cape. If you have a chance to spend an afternoon with drinks and pizzas on the patio, I highly recommend.

There is no pool, no playground, none of that. Plenty of those elsewhere and that's where the kids are. Go enjoy that if that is what you need. This is quiet and wonderful for adults, couples, singles, artists, empty nesters or anyone wanting to get away from screaming, kids crying and yelling, parents, cursing, car horns.... Ah. We spent the week here in the Beach House and it was paradise. Our own patio, steps onto the beach with a breathtaking view was just what the doctor ordered. We were greeted warmly and brought to our room upon arrival and were on the beach lounging within minutes. The owner, Peter, was always around working on something! It is super clear he loves what he does and cares deeply about his guests. He gave us some great recommendations for eateries (devils purse brewery being my favorite!) and always was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Each morning from 8-10 they serve a nice continental breakfast. My husband and I were go each morning, eat and then take a nice long walk on the beach with our coffee. The private beach already has chairs and umbrellas so no need to bring your own, they set them up each morning and take them down each evening. The inn is also within walking distance to many great shops/restaurants. We went to many of them! The kite shop was super cool and we were able to grab souvenirs for the littles back home. After dinner, come back to the inn for a fire on the patio! I very much hope to return here. I am so thankful we found this and splurged for the beach house room! Restaurant recommendations: The Ocean House, Cape Sea Grill, Perk Coffeehouse, Devils Purse Brewing, Sundae School Ice Cream, APT Cape Cod
