These have become condos, so each owner puts a different level of care into their property and prices are set according to their sense of value - so more $$ isn't necessarily a better cottage. The property manager is attentive and friendly. The ocean is right there. But it is a steep walk down the dunes. It's also a public beach. I always visit on the off season and have found the beach to be nearly deserted, even in mid June. It is especially lovely in the early morning. It's about a 3/4 mile bike ride to the cape cod rail trail, on the paved road which has little shoulder but in the off season anyway the drivers are safe and respectful. The road riding around the ponds is excellent -rolling hills, quiet roads. It's also only about a 10 minute walk to the Marconi site and cedar trail boardwalk. Go down lacount hollow towards rte 6 and turn down the sand road called "wireless". The ponds of wellfleet are a delight- clear and clean and again nearly deserted in mid June. The water is chilly though! I've always stayed in the cabin called surf side. It is well furnished and comfortable. Lots of storage, nice kitchen even a dishwasher! The stairs to the two upstairs bedrooms are VERY steep and precarious. My 70 old mother can just do them. The bathroom is modern and clean, shower only - with a skylight in it! The bath is right off the kitchen which can be a bit awkward-the owners have provided air freshener! On that topic - these owners provide much more than you would expect - Tupperware, bags and wraps, dish soap, all manner of dishes and cooking gear. The group of condos also has a laundry facility - $2.00 to wash and the same to dry. You need quarters. The town of wellfleet has ample dining options. The harbor beaches are nice for long walks and sea shell collection. Bugs are dismal everywhere in wellfleet, especially at surfside. Bring your preferred bug prevention and keep the screen door closed.

Now I can't get anybody to even answer when I call. I"ve called several times for the last three days. I've even resubmitted the form for the place I'd like to rent and have not gotten any response. I'd be happy if they'd just say they can't rent the cottage to me - at least I'd know. And it would be nice if they met their claim of a response within 24 hours. Perhaps there are problems at the office of which I'm unaware but, regardless the reason, the performance is extremely poor. UPDATE: Finally got a response asking if I was still interested in the property. I'd already arranged for another rental.

The yard was overgrown, the siding, front steps, and porch were covered in a year of dirt and grime. Inside, the house was infested with flies, and the ACs were off- even in the heat wave. The "poolside oasis" that was advertised was anything but; the pool heater and filter were both broken, and the outdoor furniture was so dirty, it was unusable even after we spent the 1st day of our vacation cleaning. Nauset Rentals did send someone out after our initial complaints, who confirmed that whatever checklist they go through before the house is ready for the next guest, was clearly not done, as our issues would have been impossible to miss. After that initial contact, Nauset Rental refused to discuss any of our issues during or after our trip, even after multiple calls and emails. So either A) this is a scam, and they do not care about your experience or making any issues during your vacation right, or B) they are so new, they don't understand how to operate as a rental company or how to create a good experience for their renters. With so many companies on the Cape to choose from, it's safe to say we will never rent from Nauset Rentals again (if they're still around for another summer season).

We were shocked when we arrived at our rental at 55 Harvard Street provided by Cape Cod Oceanview…read moreRealty. We were greeted by piles of bottles, rags, boxes and cans strewn by the entry way. Entering from the porch, a stench of mold hit us throughout the house. As the attached pictures document, we found dark mold on the shower liner, three filled dehumidifiers that had not been emptied, grime and dirt on window sills, and, to top it all off, dirty dishes, cups, and silverware that in this time of Covid needed to be boiled and sterilized. (We had known there was no dishwasher.) We've been happily vacationing and renting in Wellfleet for over 25 years--until this year. As we learned at 55 Harvard Street, It is obvious that under the new ownership of Jim and Susan Collins that while Cape Cod Oceanview Realty may aspire to be a "world class marketing firm," their commitment to the health, well being, and comfort of their rental customers is sorely lacking and even dangerous. Back at the house, taking allergy pills, we tried to make this work and stayed the night, a huge mistake: my wife had an asthma attack, while I had a skin rash and itchiness throughout my body. We contacted the Collins's emergency staff immediately the following morning, and by the end of day had gotten the following bruque response: the owners (Gilbert and Eudekis, who live year-round in Denver) refused any refund. Likewise, Jim Collins told his service representative to inform us: (1) that it was our responsibility to check out the rental before we signed the contract (an absurd stipulation, as renters come from all over the US); (2) that the mold was mildew, suggesting our allergy attacks were overstated; (3) most but not all of the humidifiers were now empty; (4) it's not their job to have a sanitary domicile as long as the floors and counters have been swept and mopped. In the past, Cape Cod Realty's former owners, the Crowells, went out of their way to accommodate us, year-in, year-out . Unfortunately, in 2021 and the second year of Covid, Jim Collins remained hostile to our attempt to "meet in the middle" with a partial refund and our willingness to pay for an even more expensive rental elsewhere. Preferring to tell two 70 year-olds to live with it, their proffered option was for us to return to 55 Harvard Street and place our health at risk. We are sad and disappointed that this once reputable real estate agency is now driven solely by even the most of modest of profits at the expense of quality service and safety to all its customers. We suggest that, like us, you use other rental agents in the future.

I arrived at the rental property to a disaster. Bedding was rolled up, one mattress pad had blood, one bed was missing a pad, the blankets looked like they never were washed. Kitchen and dining area was dirty,, the toilet had urine on it. Trash in trash cans, Used towels left in bathroom. . Most windows could not open and dirt in the tracks. The yard was not kept up. The agents Paula and Jimmy were not apologetic and did not care about customer satisfaction. I asked immediately to go to another property, remove me from the rental lease. They did get someone to clean the place that night and after waiting 3 hours plus -the cleaner was still cleaning and the person who was to bring new bedding decided to go to bed vs delivering the bedding. I couldn't stay there even if I wanted to. I was finally offered money back but was asked to agree to not write a review. I NEVER WENT BACK AND STAYED AT rental 2069. I was so disgusted with what I walked into, how I was treated and the way they handled the situation.

As I was in the bathroom I heard the shower in the unit above turn on and then saw water start pouring out of the ceiling. It was obvious that this was an ongoing issue because the ceiling had been patched several times. This continued until the bathroom was flooded and the ceiling was saturated all the way out into the room and above the bed. I immediately called the hotel who acted surprised (even though it was an obvious ongoing issue) and they assured me they would take care of it right away. They didn't. I never heard from them again, they declined my follow up call, and the bathroom remained flooded for the remainder of my stay. Every time the unit above would shower, I would have water pouring out of the ceiling into my bathroom. For the entire weekend I had to walk through standing water just to use the bathroom in a hotel that refused to fix anything and was definitely not inexpensive on a holiday weekend. I don't expect that every room has a similar issue, but I think this issue speaks to the character of the hotel management. If they ignored this glaring issue, what else are they hiding?
