Burrito. It's the best one we have tasted in over 15 Tacoma restaurants including the second best at Spring Lake in Fircrest.

Today we decided to splurge for a super breakfast at The Bair in Steilacoom, a short drive from Tacoma. The owner Sarah once again proved why her restaurant is so great. Her cheerful greeting and then fast service of Hot coffee to start was perfect. I decided to enjoy the Lox salmon and bagel with a side of French toast. I substituted white bread for the bagel. Capers were generous and the spread of dill and cream cheese to die for! The cinnamon French toast with hints of almond or vanilla was superb. My wife had half of a burrito today with the other for tomorrow as it's so huge. There is NO oil or grease on this burrito even after sitting on the plate, unlike so many places where the inside juices and oil slowly drain down. She was accommodated by not having potatoes or bacon in it; the mushrooms, cheese, diced ham and shredded pork were perfectly cooked! Three cups of hot coffee and breakfast by The Bair made my day. If in a hurry, you may want to wait as sometimes busy. However, you will be happy you discovered this secret gem! And then read the history of this restaurant too while waiting.

Adorable spot about a block up from the waterfront. Used to be the original pharmacy and post office. Used to be a stop along the street car route that is now a street. Fascinating history which is explained on the menu. The restaurant itself is also a museum of sorts, with every item inside having some connection to its prior lives. We ordered the eggs benedict and the avocado toast. The only reason not five stars is that both were somewhat bland. Expected a bigger burst of flavor for both. Fun to have the option of ordering from the soda fountain (after 11 am only). You can sit at the bar or at tables inside or outside. There is free two hour parking up and down the road. Staff was incredible. So friendly and amenable to every circumstance. Would go back just for the staff.

Historic, near the waterfront, sweet, charming, super friendly staff. Full breakfast and lunch menus and a soda fountain. They have a bit of merchandise and a few bakery items for purchase. It has good vibes and reminds me of happy times. Had the daily special of mashed potato cakes. Memories of Mom. Great bacon! Again, super nice people and service.

To start, The Bair is very cute and quaint. We really enjoyed the aesthetic at The Bair and it felt very homey. We ordered basic breakfasts but they were good. I loved how crispy the bacon was. The one downside and the reason it's not five stars is it took an extremely long time to receive our food. The restaurant didn't seem too busy and based on the fact that we ordered very basic meals, I was not expecting to wait the amount of time we did for the food. We were also only checked on once during our meal, and again, the restaurant is not large so I was a bit surprised by that. All in all, I think we may be back but it is not our first choice for a breakfast spot.

Such a quaint little restaurant tucked in the old Hardware Store located on the Main Street through Steilacoom. The service is exceptional, the menu has a variety of options for breakfast and lunch. We have been there many times for breakfast and have enjoyed the food. Today my husband had the steak, egg, and potatoes while I had the spiced chicken scramble made into a burrito. We will definitely return!

Local favorite with classic brunch type food daily. The decor is a bit of a living museum dating back to the 1800's. The servers are kind and knowledgeable about the menu options. Food can be a bit bland. Nothing a dash of salt of sprinkle of gravy, hollandaise sauce or egg yolk can't improve. Sausage was good but food was average on this trip.

Loved this place so much. I ordered Latte only- didn't know this is a brunch place. We were there for Soda fountain and ice cream- old times treat. But the fountain is broken. It will be back in a few months. Service was excellent. My latte was superb! Great atmosphere. Great customer service. Will back soon for brunch !

The ambiance was very quaint and the service was fantastic. The food was yummy and my friends enjoyed their meals as well.

The food was amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly. They have a new thing that had feta on it. It was perfect.

He…read morehas been raving about this place ever since and I told that he has to take me next time he goes there. We arrived here late morning and there was two people waiting for their order. We were greeted and asked if we were ready and it was good that the menu is pretty condensed and easy to read as I can be indecisive. I got their large Cheesy British warmed up with a side of their macaroni salad while my boyfriend got the Smokey Mountain small warmed up. The cashier was friendly and repeated our order back to ensure we got what we ordered. Once we paid, him and another employee got to work. They have a clean and well-maintained bathroom here, which was great as I did have messy hands after eating my sandwich. The interior here feels very homey with plenty of tables and chairs, tall chairs at a bar and a bench to wait for your food. They deliver your order to you if you dine in while you have go pick up the order if you did take out. You get a thank you from the employees when you pick up or leave which I thought was sweet. The menu items are really affordable and they also have great combo meals too! The options of chips they have great pairings for their sandwiches. Speaking of sandwiches, our sandwiches were some of the best sandwiches that I have ever had. They really cut their ingredients thin which I personally loved as it stays in the sandwich better and adds a consistent texture. My boyfriend's Smokey Mountain was absolutely delicious as I feel it is hard to find good spots with pastrami. We look forward to trying out more of their menu!

Hello Lakewood Friends!…read more Did you all know that you have a gem in your backyard? This deli is great! I love the way the inside of the deli is simple decor with an shoutout to 90's decor. None of the extra stuff. Just great seats to enjoy a great hoagie. The service is always top tier. The bread is so soft and the sandwiches look like a picture. Listen drive by those franchise sandwich shops and head to Hoagies Sub deli! Fresh ingredients, awesome bread, creative sandwiches, and it is always a move to support local businesses!
