I was a kid in a candy store when I walked in. It is such a pretty store. Immediately the decor caught my eye. At the register, the cinnamon rolls and danishes looked amazing. The staff is super nice. One of the owners came to our table and she told us about the history. I ordered a drip coffee. I also purchased three boxes of cookies. So far, the spiced cookies are my favorite. I enjoyed my visit and I'm planning on returning soon.

This iconic bakery has been around for 100 years! They've perfected their thin Moravian cookies! And, they have alot of other sweet treats full of wholesome ingredients. They have coffee and green tea. I let Santa hold mine. I was there for a Yelp Elite event. Yelp picks the best places with the best spaces. They offer free samples, so stop by and try some of their products.

I made a point of trying this bakery once I learned that this family has been making Moravian baked goods for almost 100 years, And theirs is a most interesting story, woven into the history of Winston over that time period. Dewey Guy Wilkerson was born in Greensboro in 1897, and married Clara Jones in 1919. By 1925, they were helping Jones Brothers Bakery get under way. This was the beginning of the Wilkersons' baking history. By 1930, Dewey had saved enough money to open his own bakery, which he did in Winston Salem. The bakery survived the Great Depression with the support of the Moravian community and Jones Brothers Bakery. The family joined the Moravian Church and they and their bakery were embraced by the Moravian community. The business grew and prospered. And then on Eastern Monday 1955 the bakery was destroyed by fire. The community rallied behind the Wilkerson, providing temporary space so they could continue to produce Moravian treats. Later that year, Dewey II opened Dewey's in Thruway Shopping Center and it is the only original tenant still there. The family, now headed by Dewey III, sold the bakery to Scott Livengood, former head of Krispy Kreme. The family stayed out of the bakery business until 2019, when it opened several popup spots. Then in Oct 2023, Wilkerson Bakery was opened in what had previously been a location of Jones Brothers bakery. In some form, the circle has been completed. They offer sugar cake, cheese straws, spice cookies, sugar cookies, lemon cookies, and butter rum (Blackbeard's) cookies, among other things.

What an absolutely lovely afternoon at the Summer of Sweets event hosted by Wilkerson Bakery and Yelp! From the moment we walked in, everything was beautifully organized and filled with charm, tradition, and some seriously delicious goodies. The guided tour through the historic Wilkerson Bakery felt like a step back in time, with each view offering unique tasting experiences. The cake and cupcake decorating was a blast (and tasty too!), and the carefully curated flights were such a treat--think Kill Devil Rum with Blackbeard's Cookie or Merlot with Rosemary Cheese Straws! Each pairing was creative and surprisingly spot-on. I especially loved the "Wake & Cake" special with Chelsi and Drake--a great touch for the morning crowd. The spiced cold brew with sugar cake was memorable, and I might need to recreate that combo at home! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and it was clear they put a lot of heart into both the event and the bakery itself. From Moravian stars on display to the charming packaging of baked goods, Wilkerson is a Winston-Salem gem that honors tradition while keeping things fresh and fun. Huge thanks to Yelp and the Wilkerson team and family for such a delightful Sunday. I'll definitely be back to stock up on cookies and cheese

So. Many. Delicious. Goodies. Cake truffles? Cold brew? Moravian cookies. They really have it all and more. This is a great place to grab a gift for a holiday or just a weekday treat for yourself. The variety of cookie flavors is impressive.

Hot cross buns! I stopped in to buy buns for holiday. I was pleasantly surprised by all the Moravian goodies- that are normally only available for Christmas. These are year round options. Sugar cake, cookies, and hot cross buns. Great place to stop for a gift !

Lemon cookie and the Brady Spice cookies! Delis!

So I feel a little guilty...it's Christmas time and that means Moravian bakery treats! I feel guilty because I am usually loyal to "another" Moravian bakery in town who I will not mention but they are spectacular. However there is a new bakery in town called Wilkerson's and brother, they got it together. I've been watching this place for a while waiting for it to open and I finally got there this week. They have all the traditional Moravian goodies! Cookies, cakes, treat and the famous Moravian sugar cake! I'm already fat so I tried to control myself, so I got two boxes of the thin Moravian cookies. I chose the lemon and the brandy spice (Never had before) OMG they were amazing! Light and full of favor! It's hard to believe they get that much flavor in the little cookie! The Brady spice was my favorite! The place was like a pocket Christmas adventure. The decorations, lights, sounds, and smells take you straight to a Christmas cabin in the woods. Let give the place some business! I recommend it.

Found this spot on a casual drive through Winston. It's hidden in a shopping center but the sign is large-you can't miss it. There was one staff member working and she was so incredibly friendly and kind. It s always a pleasure meeting someone in high spirits especially during this time of year when most people are on go! It's a cute shop with delicious baked goods. I purchased most of these as gifts so no pictures of the actual cookies but they are lightly sweetened, thin, and perfect for a midday pickup. The cheese straws were amazing-they were well seasoned, perfectly flavored, and crisp. I would definitely purchase again.

We visited Wilkerson just before Christmas to get some Moravian cookies to give as gifts. They had free samples and all the flavors were absolutely delicious, my favorite was the buttered rum. They had some fantastic gift bundles with cookies and cheese straws. However, they had run out of the included cheese straws and allowed us to upgrade to a larger size for the same price, the staff were very friendly in making this change! Inside the store still seemed to be settling into their new location but that had some nice Christmas decorations and some very cool older kitchen scales and tables that made for great decorations! We will definitely visit again!

Visiting the area from out of state and was on the hunt for something local. So glad I came across this place! Try the cookies! You might be thinking "How good can something so thin be?" Well, very freakin' good! They will let you sample the different options. These thin crispy bite of goodness would make an amazing addition to a gift basket or stocking stuffer. Everything we had was excellent and I'd try more but then I'd need to go buy a new wardrobe.

At this location on Martin Luther until the end of month but visit them at their Robinhood Road location

Their cookies are addictive. I originally stopped by thanks to Ron W. suggestion to try out their cookies and have been back to restock. Honestly, I'm already planning to include these tasty treats in Christmas presents and have sent them as birthday's presents. You can order them online or visit their brick and mortar location on Robinson Road. But how do they make their cookies so thin? And how do they disappear so quickly? Those questions I cannot answer. But I can tell you that my favorite flavor is the butter rum and that you can do a taste test of their cookies prior to purchase so you can pick your favorite. They do sell other items too: cheese sticks and pastries, but I can't stop eating the cookies so I've never ventured out. I usually get the bags of cookies but they also sell fancier boxes that make for nice gifts. Large bags will run you $15.00 and regular bags are $11.00. This is not only a great product, but it's historically significant to Winston-Salem, you're supporting a local business and they make for a perfect gift. Highly recommend picking some up for yourself or to share!

Nata Belle's was definitely worth the try!…read more I grabbed three flavors: Sweet Potato Brownie, Peach Cobbler Pound Cake, and Oreo Pound Cake. First things first--the texture is EVERYTHING. Pillow-soft, incredibly moist, rich, and you can tell these recipes have been perfected. The quality is absolutely there. These desserts are definitely on the sweeter, more indulgent side, so for me this is a once-in-a-blue-moon treat--but when you want a real dessert, they deliver. This is not your little "I just need something sweet" cake. This is a luxury dessert. Surprisingly, my favorite was the Oreo Pound Cake, and I'm not even a big Oreo girl! The balance was perfect, and that's the one I'd come back and grab just for myself. The Peach Cobbler and Sweet Potato Brownie were both delicious too, just much richer. Great service, great quality, and clearly somebody knows exactly what they're doing in that kitchen. If you haven't tried Natty Belle's yet, I definitely recommend giving them a try.
