    Joe's doughnut

This place serves some amazing fresh made donuts daily. They also have an expansive option of coffee and teas for your delight. Service is always great here. Ambiance is nice, perfect for reading or just relaxing while enjoying a good cup of tea. Located in Reynolda Gardens.

This was a special vacation stop for sure! I'm an egg person for breakfast but after a walk in the gardens nearby, we treated ourselves to a warm blueberry glaze doughnut as well as a perfectly made orange chocolate chip scone. Enjoyed an iced chai and cappuccino as well. Service was prompt and the bustling place has a mix of locals, tourists and students. Outdoor and indoor seating.

I cannot say enough good things about Dough Joe's. On this particular visit, it was about a 25 minute wait (line out the door!). If that doesn't tell you you're in for a treat, I don't know what will! I got one apple cider and one cinnamon sugar donut. I also ordered the Cassonade Seasonal latte. The donuts were amazing, no notes. Warm, soft, fluffy, sweet- everything yo could ever want in a fresh, made to order donut. The coffee could have been better, it was a little lacking in flavor / sweetness. But, paired with the sweet donuts it was better! The coffee itself was good, not bitter or burnt, which is hard to achieve, especially when busy! I will definitely be returning again!

What an amazing coffee and doughnut spot right in the middle of Reynolda Village. We'd heard great things before visiting, but the doughnuts absolutely blew us away. Nothing beats a made to order doughnut that comes out hot and fresh the moment you order it. Think Duck Donuts on steroids and without the heavy oil. Super fresh, hot, perfectly crisp on the outside with a melt in your mouth center. We tried the maple glaze and it was incredible. The coffee was top notch, too. They also offer a variety of baked goods, both sweet and savory. The patio area here is another winner, especially on a beautiful day in the Village. Hard to beat this combo of great coffee, amazing fresh doughnuts, and a relaxing outdoor space. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Is there anything better than coffee and doughnuts? I don't think so!! And Dough Joe's does it best. I love this place so much!! A must-go in Winston. The interior is so cute and cozy. Reynolda Village is such a pretty area to hang out in too. Grab your coffee and doughnuts and spend time in the beautiful fall weather! It makes for a perfect day.

Hands down the best doughnuts I've ever had! I'm not usually a fan of cake doughnuts but let me tell you about the melt in your mouth fresh and hot with the best flavors you can think of. The environment is one that you really never want to leave. Many seating options but good luck finding a seat as it just the coolest place to get some work done, visit with your people, chill by yourself or whatever you're looking for. Seating inside and outside. The service has always been top notch! Kind folks delicious coffee and the very best doughnuts! The earl gray doughnut is my all time favorite!

I'm not even a big fan of cake donuts but theirs are so warm and airy that it practically melts in your mouth! Their coffee is also pretty good! The pin wheel pastry had so much flavor and it was so flaky! Very delicious overall! The staff is also super sweet and very quick! The ambiance is super cozy and quant! It fits right into the Ranalda Village vibe!

We went here this morning and there was a line outside and tons of people sitting both inside and out! I could tell immediately this is a popular spot. Despite the long line, we got up to the counter relatively quickly. The doughnuts are cooked fresh after ordering, but they clearly operate like a well oiled machine, because we did not have to wait around long before receiving our food. All 3 doughnuts were absolutely delicious. The cinnamon sugar doughnut is a classic, and was delicious, fresh, soft, and exactly what you would expect. The cherry pie doughnut tasted delicious, sweet, and fruity, though not particularly like cherry. If you told me it was another fruity flavor like strawberry or raspberry, I would believe you. Nevertheless, it was scrumptious, and I would order it again. The dirt cake doughnut was also delicious, and the gummy worms on top, though still retaining their signature shape, had melted from the heat of the fresh doughnut. This was actually a nice surprise, and made biting through them easier, so I didn't have to remove them to eat seperately. We also got the dirt cake latte. This was okay, but didn't impress me. It mostly tasted like milk. A little bit of chocolate shone through, and a little bit of espresso, but definitely overwhelmingly milky. To their credit, the espresso taste I did pick up on was good-- neither burnt nor bitter. Still, for a specialty seasonal latte, I had higher expectations. I think they need to work on honing the balance of flavors and ingredients in their drinks. The inside of the shop was super cute. It has some very cozy couches and a pretty gallery wall. I wish there were a few more tables outside, as they do get snatched up quickly on a sunny weekend morning. All in all, I will definitely be coming back, but probably just for doughnuts (not coffee).

I come back for the scones and the vibes. I look forward to new creative things that come from the bakery in the future.

Dough Joe's does not compare to any other donut I've had in my life. Hands down the best donuts ever. Truly unreal. While the drinks weren't our favorite (we tried hot chocolate and lattes), the donuts more than made up for it. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Absolutely amazing and a must-go. It's also in a super cute area that's perfect for walking around after. Cannot recommend it enough.

The best donuts yet! This place really surprised me. When you walk in, it looks like a regular cafe with a few chairs inside, a few students reading and studying in groups, totally normal. You might see some pastries on the patio, but not a single donut. You can look at the options at the board and trust your instincts. That's what I did and I was super happy in the end. They make their donuts super fresh and you get them warm and smell so good - almost impossible to take them away without eating a few. The staff is super kind and nice. When you eat them, they are so soft they almost melt in your mouth (I get hungry just thinking about them). I'll share my picks and pictures and hope I can help you choose: Blueberry Glaze, Cheesecake, Maple Glaze, Cinnamon Sugar, and S'mores. I definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

(4.25) Ever since Rise closed its Greensboro branch years ago, I've been on the hunt for a donut shop with some adventurous flavors. Dough-Joe's, with its assortment of glazes, drizzles, and fun seasonal offerings, is it. The donuts are a cake style, and they are made to order. Cheap they are not ($2.55 and up per), but they are worth it. During a recent visit, I went with a few of the winter specials: a Butterbeer Latte (caramel and butterscotch syrup) and a cheesecake donut. The former had a strong butterscotch flavor, and while I might not get it again, it was still comforting on a cold day. The latter was delicious. The cheesecake glaze offered a nice bit of tanginess. For being made fresh, it was served up quickly, too. If there's one drawback to Dough-Joe's, it is that indoor seating availability is hit-and-miss. This isn't a problem in the warmer months when the outdoor tables are an option, but in the winter, the inside fills up fast. While there are closer places to get a decent donut, Dough-Joe's is enough of a standout to be a regular stop during future Winston visits.

This place is truly a gem. Some of the best donuts I've had across the country! The donuts are made to order. They're freshly fried and topped with whatever glaze or topping you choose. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the doughnut. Highly recommend!

I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. It was prepared quickly, and it made for a smooth sip: not too sweet and no acidity. Winston-Salem has no shortage of places to grab a drink of the caffeinated or alcoholic varieties, but it's hard to beat the atmosphere that The Remedy has to offer.
