I'm confident if I went to this place a few times one of those times I would end up giving them a five star but on this occasion and we started pretty early inside the happy hour zone where there wasn't very many people there in fact, I think it was a total of three tables, the service was very slow. Within a two hour window at least twice we didn't have somebody come by a refill. Our water order. Check in on us over 30 minutes long, again not very many people there until later half. Our chicken was dry as well. Maybe that's normal for them as they're trying to give the people space for more talk. My wife was really hungry so I ended up having to get up and ask for help. I've been to this location a few times now and thought it was time for a review. I'll start with the positive. The space itself is beautiful. It's spacious, with lots of different types of seating options, from tables in the center of the main dining room to booths and a fun little wine barrel-esque 4-top table by the windows. There's also an indoor little fire pit with seating around that by the front window. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot, so that's never been an issue for us. The wines are wonderful, as expected. WVV has expanded its portfolio over the years and includes a nice array of labels so you can get your classic Oregon Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, as well as more robust reds like Tempranillo and Syrah. The bubbles are always a good choice here, and the rosé is usually a crowd pleaser. The menu here is small, but mighty, and the quality of the food has always been top notch, in our experience. On Wednesdays, there's a happy hour menu. On our most recent visit, we loved the tarragon shrimp and the mushrooms. The truffle fries were fine, but tasted more like standard garlic fries and not so much truffle fries. While I love having a wine bar/restaurant like this in this area, the one thing that has been disappointing is that I have noticed the service has gone downhill since it first opened. It's not bad, but it's also not as attentive, warm and welcoming, or knowledgeable (re: the wines) as it once was. Never been and loved it! We weren't hungry enough for full meals but they looked amazing coming out. Did we have wine and deserts though? Yes, we sure did. Do I regret any of my choices? Nope. Not one bit. Staff were knowledgeable and kind. It was fairly busy for a weekday which might be normal due to their proximity to homes and they definitely had a regular crowd. Great addition to the Lake O dinner scene. Yes, this is a wine tasting room, part of the large Williamette Valley properties, but the food here is on par with their delicious wine. We decided to visit on a Thursday night when they offer a prime rib special. For $31.99, you get an 8oz prime (there's also an option for 16oz) served with a veggie and potatoes. Since this is what we were here for, we all ordered the same dish. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with a glass of sparkling white and brought to our table, which we had reserved. Since I'm a member, we were treated to a free wine tasting flight of two whites and two reds. Hard to pick a favorite as we loved them all! With dinner, we ordered a bottle of the Matis, a red blend from Walla Walla that is on the bolder side. I've had it before, and it's always been one of my favorites. I'm so glad Williamette Valley branches out beyond the Pinots. While they are exceptional, it's nice to have options. Inside, the dining area is decorated tastefully and beautifully with soft lighting throughout. There's a bar area, a fire pit, and several different types of seating areas. I especially like the booth that is in an oversized looking wine barrel. Service was exceptional; attentive while allowing us space. Lots of parking directly out front. I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive. Given that Willamette Valley Vineyards is located in the parking lot of a Whole Foods. Whatever trepidation I had before we were seated, quickly vanished with the house poor of a light sparkling Pinot. We ate on the patio. It was lovely. The traffic noise from State was not an issue. The expansive seating made it easier for us a to spread out a little to accommodate my mother and her walker. The interior is just lovely. A mix of an Austrian chalet and a Sonoma tap room. The food was spot on. Appetizers. Salads. Proteins. Everything was beautiful on the plate and delicious. Our servers were kind and attentive, without being intrusive. The restaurant offers a set wine pour - three flights. You can also order from a fairly extensive pour list and a good range of bottles you will not find outside of the vineyard or select restaurants (I.e., not on the shelves in your neighborhood Freddie's). We had a relaxing family evening out, on the spur of the moment, without a reservation - and it was wonderful. We will be back. read more

We also shared a bday bottle of bubbly, and the Cascadia board - a local bounty of charcuterie, cheese, pickles - even a pickled fern and nuts - it's a worthy splurge. A couple of weekends ago, I had a wonderful evening with three of my friends at the Willamette Valley Vineyards tasting room in Lake Oswego. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by some of the kindest staff I've ever met. Jonathan's knowledge of the wines was incredibly impressive - my personal favorite from our tasting was the 2023 Bernau Block Chardonnay. The Cascadia Board was nothing short of exquisite, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Jonathan, Bridgette, and the entire Lake Oswego team are truly exceptional. I can see why this place is so highly rated. We tried it for the first time this evening. Husband and I shared the bread plate, roasted root vegetables, and the filet mignon. We also had the seasonal flight wine tasting. All the food was really good - even the bread, such a simple thing, was warm, soft on the inside, with a nice crust in the outside, and a really tasty butter. The filet was cooked perfectly, and potatoes and vegetable and mushrooms that came with the steak, and the roasted vegetable dish were so tasty. In addition to the food and wine flight, when you sit down, they give you an additional taste of wine - tonight it was a Pinot Gris which was really pleasant. The wine was really good, and they allow you to have a small taster of other wines you want to try. We bought two bottles - a Pinot noir and their port, both of which were some of the best wines we have had. Service was excellent, and the ambience there is beautiful and serene. It's puzzling because the Salem and Tualatin Hills wineries do the more traditional 5 wines for their tastings. A couple of other wine tasting rooms nearby also have 5 or 6. Hmmm. Doesn't seem fair to those who pay for the tastings - not an issue for owners and club members for whom this is free. If you decide to dine then all their dishes are fabulous. Some are heartier than others. WVV-LO is a beautiful environment despite being in a shopping center in Lake Oswego. The interior is cool and modern and very much in keeping with an upscale wine tasting experience. The outdoor patio, weather cooperating, should be your first choice tho. Of course the wines are very much worth drinking but the absolute star (as good as the pinots, etc., are) is the Lake Oswego burger, done medium. Really, one of the best burgers ever, so flavorful it doesn't even need its fancy au jus (and it's certainly splittable). Expert service provided by the ever entertaining and energetic Erik who's been polishing his oenology. Pair the burger with either the peppery Cab Franc or the slightly chianti-ish Cab (but really, any of their more robust reds work well including their recommended pairing). read more

One of our favorite restaurants in the area, hands down. We make a point of doing a date night there at least once a month. On our first visit (March-ish in 2024), Eric impressed us with the service, food, and wine, so we joined the wine club. We've been really enjoying it and feel like we get a great value from it. Since then, we go at least once a month for dinner. We've had a number of other servers (and Eric again a few times) and all have been great. We recently did the blind tasting with Beck running the show. It was my wife's birthday and Beck was great as always, leading us through the tasting and providing excellent service and an excellent experience. The other group doing the tasting seemed to be having a great time as well. Their food and wine are great, service is consistently excellent, and the ambience is on point, lending itself a bit more to romantic dinners than most other spots we've found in the area. The one time there was an issue with the cook on a dish (and I believe Beck may have been serving us), they immediately corrected and comped the dish. Its a very easy place to recommend. read more

So we wandered over to Willamette Vineyard to kill some time and get something to eat after our flight. We had the absolute best food we could've asked for and such a wonderful experience with our server Beck who was so kind and hospitable, and even gave us a list of restaurants and waterfalls we should visit. We visited here for a work Christmas celebration. We enjoyed cocktails, wine, and dinner over the evening. The cocktails were fantastic, as was the wine. The server was very informative and accommodating, offering flight substitutions for those of us who had already drank a glass of the flight options.
