I am a huge fan of Willamette Valley Vineyards. Matt & I have been wine club members for several years and I enjoy being part of it. In fact, we love the company so much, we bought stock- NASDAQ: WVVI. Being stockholders adds another 5% off our purchases- totaling a 25% discount when we buy wine. There is a great variety of wine at many price points. Retail is $14.00-$100.00 according to their website. They make everything from Riesling to Chardonnay to Pinots. Their Semi-Sparkling Muscat-Frizzanté is one of my favorite wines, it is sparkling, sweet and low in alcohol.... basically it is a crowd pleaser. On Sunday I went wine tasting with some first timers at the McMinnville location and they bought a bottle of this wine, because it's awesome. The Turner location is gorgeous... sweeping views, a beautiful tasting room, and an amazing staff. Wendy is our go to person to schedule tours and tastings for a large group (all perks of the wine club). No kidding, Matt and I stop in for the first time in 6 months without an appointment and she greets us by name, thanks Wendy, we love you too. I am proud to bring guests here, both wine beginners and experts. Is it starting to sound like I work for them? Well I don't, I just am in a long term relationship with a wonderful winery. Since we live in Newberg it is more convenient to pick up club shipments at the McMinnville location, I will write a separate review for them. Now I have to be totally honest here: WVV arguably does not make the best wine in the valley, but for me they run one of the best businesses and treat their customers well which to me is more important. My husband is a much bigger wine snob than I am, and he feels the same way about WVV, it is solid wine at a good price point. I'm surprised there aren't more five-star reviews of this place, it was honestly heaven on earth. From the minute we drove through the front archway, winding through the fields of grapes, both my fiance and I knew that we were going to have an incredible time at Willamette Valley Vineyards. Walking into the tasting room, you see gorgeous wood floors and walls, though our eyes were first drawn to the huge windows that give incredible views of the vineyards. Almost immediately after walking in, we were greeted by Shannon, who asked if we were here for the first time, and if we were interested in a tasting (of course we were!). We decided to go with the Reserve Tasting Flight, since I'm more of a red drinker than white, which was $15, but is waived if you buy two bottles of wine. For starters, Shannon was absolutely phenomenal - she was warm, incredibly knowledgeable about Willamette Valley wines, and the winemaking process, and gave really interesting information about each glass that she poured. We started with a Pinot Gris, which was really delicious and the perfect taste to start with. From there, I had the most delicious Rose I've ever had (and it's 14%, so my PERFECT bottle of Rose), and then moved through two Pinot Noirs, then to a Merlot, and finished with a Cab Franc. During the tasting, we were asked if we wanted to join the tour, which was a lovely gesture (but one we declined since we were on a bit of a time crunch as we were headed down to Gold Beach). Still though, it was very accommodating to be invited to join and reminded that the tour would start soon - if we had more time, it would have been a no-brainer to learn more about Willamette! We ended up buying a bottle of the delicious Rose as well as one of the Pinot Noirs, and ordered two more glasses of Pinot Noir to enjoy along with lunch on the outdoor deck that overlooks the vineyards. You could not design better views, it was honestly amazing. For lunch, which was truly phenomenal, we ordered the cheese board (which came with these amazing toasted almonds and an incredible array of cheeses), I had the spinach/strawberry salad, which had some of the best salad dressing I've ever tried, and my fiance had the BBQ Pulled Pork sliders, which he devoured. Shannon was kind enough to find us outside and deliver our bottles that we had purchased to us, since there was a crowd coming in and she wanted us to be able to easily exit the vineyard following our lunch. All in all, this was one of the best vineyards I've ever been to. The wine was delicious, the food was also wonderful, and the service was absolutely incredible - paired with the stunning views, this is a true A+ in my book. We recently visited WVV in Salem to celebrate a special day with my husband. We have visited many winery restaurants before, I am not new to great customer service. WVV lacked that, at least from our server. Upon our arrival, we were sat on a table that was empty, only handed with tasting menu and food menu. When our server, Sierra, arrived, she immediately asked us if we know what we want from the menu. I asked for a few minutes to look at it and asked for 2 glasses of water. She came back shortly and brought empty wine glasses and empty water glasses. After waiting for sometime, she came back and asked us if we have decided what we wanted, we chose Signature Tasting and asked for Olives and Almonds. Again, we asked for water because she never brought it after the first ask. She finally did after that. The appetizer arrived and we were not given any utensils nor napkins, no sharing plates and no olive pit bowl. After pouring two tastings, she went for a break. I understand we all need breaks but she did not inform us who her replacement was. We waited and looked for any person wearing WVV uniform for utensils, sharing plates and napkins. I even stood up and went to the bar for that. That's when we realized she was on break. At this time, we were wanting to leave but I assured my husband that one person's lack of customer service shouldn't influence our day, especially a special day that we were celebrating. We then ordered pizza paired with a bottle of wine that was recommended to us. When the pizza came, the person was discombobulated about where to put the pizza. The olive and almond platter was on the middle, she then decided to put the pizza in front of me. She then asked if there was anything else she can bring. After taking a deep breath, I asked for her to put away the platter so we could place the pizza on the middle for sharing. We finished the pizza and never saw the bottle of wine. By this time, we were ready to leave, disappointed at that. Sierra came back holding the bill. Without showing it to us, she asked if we want to pay with the credit card on file. I demanded to see the bill first, then I noticed that she charged $50 for the pizza and wine pairing. I reminded her that she did not bring the wine bottle to us and to amend the bill for that. Unapologetically, she credited the wine bottle and did not even go an extra mile to amend her mistake. Other restaurants would even credit the pizza for the embarrassing mistake. I do not care paying for what I ate but at least show that you, as staff, would do anything to provide a better customer service after making a huge mistake. read more

I love this place! It definitely felt like a hang out spot for retirees and senior citizens but I honestly didn't mind. When you walk into the tasting room, there's a gorgeous glass view to the vineyard, a beautiful wood cellar to the side and a fire pit right in the front. Try the tasting menu for $10 or $15 - and if you get two bottles they wave the fee. My partner and I also stayed for the food. We ended up getting a chefs choice charcuterie board, a lamb pasta and a burger. Their pasta blew me away - it tasted handmade and the red sauce paired well with our Pinot noir. Being total wine lovers, we visited the winery on our vacation to Oregon. The grounds were lush with different varietals, gorgeous flowers, and mountains in the distance. Krystal was our tour guide and was completely wonderful in every aspect. She was knowledgeable, friendly and had a sparkling personality. We enjoyed a tasting of delicious Pinot noirs and charcuterie, while a gentle breeze surrounded us on a shaded, private balcony. We greatly enjoyed the wine tasting (options at $10 and $15), loved their wines particularly their Estate Pinot Noir, Syrah and Mescat, and found their appetizers and food to be excellent. The view is AMAZING - this is probably the vinyard with the best view. It sits on mountain top and oversees beautiful vinyard. The wine is decent (not cheap). They are famous for their pinot, majorities are within 30-60 dollars range. They provide some typical winery food, like pizza, salad, cheese board, etc. We ends up buying 4 bottles. You can get tasting fee - 15 dollars waived if you get 2 bottles. The best thing is oregon does not have sales tax! read more

He's very informative, courteous, and relatable so his guidance during the tour was very enjoyable. You will not regret it! He introduced a white Pinot noir to the lady and I and we were not aware of such things existed. It tasted great so we ended up purchasing a bottle on the way out. Nice Brian. What a wonderful experience! We love to sit on the patio overlooking the vineyards in the summer, but this rainy fall day made the fireside the perfect spot. The wines are exceptional and the food alone is worth the visit. We always get the chef's artisanal platter when we come for a tasting but the entrees are also all unique, fresh, and seasonal. I am new to the Pacific Northwest. Before arriving 3 years ago, I had no interest in wineries. Then... my fiancé brought me to Willamette Valley Vineyards and it is now my favorite place to visit. Not just because of the amazing wine, excellent food and great scenery but because of our Winery Ambassador Juliet Peterson! We love us some Juliet! Every once in awhile you come across someone whose spirit is radiant and pure. That's Juliet! Meh. Because: 1) I booked a covid reservation, solely for the view. I've heard the view is best at this winery. And it is. But apparently they don't do tastings on the patio, they do it in the dark tavern tasting room with giant TV's that repeat the same recipe using their wine. Why have a piano if nobody plays it? 2) the girl doing the tasting for us was very young. She seemed well informed but it was rehearsed/coached. She also never asked our feedback on any of the tastings, nor asked what we usually drink. I see the benefits of both sides - trying new wines to expand your palate, or trying things similar to what you already like and you're guaranteed to buy something. It seemed like we just tried a little of everything. And everything was... mediocre. Nothing stood out and we had to make up for the $40 reservation fee each (what!?) So we had to order 4 bottles to make it worth it. These bottles took up precious space in our luggage reserved for wine we actually like. The taster lady said we could enjoy a bottle outside while contemplating membership (right, lol). Her favorite spot is the terrace over on the side. We should not have listened. Absolutely no view or shade. 3) this is where you go for your shmancy drunken bachelorette birthday instachat snapgram photos with your sash and fedora and your entourage of similar looking friends. Yes, this actually did happen, on that lovely terrace with no view or shade. 4) the cleanup crew girls wore very trashy shorty short shorts and dresses, not at all condusive to the more upscale atmosphere. I was surprised the management allowed this. The tasters obviously had a much higher dress code policy, but they all hang out together at the bar. Would not return. There are hundreds of other wineries. Many with a great view and actually great wine. Not a good 10th anniversary activity for us. read more

This place is positively enchanting! If i was looking for a venue to hold a wedding or another event in the area, this place would be the perfect selection. There are sweeping picturesque views of the valley below from the extensive patio at the back of the main building. There are tons of tables on the patio for large or small groups, as well as a fireplace for chilly evenings. We did a flight with 2 white wines and two reds. We are self proclaimed haters of white wine, but their Estate Chardonnay was absolutely delicious. The bartender suggested we buy the bottle instead of individual glasses and take the extra wine with us if we didn't finish because it was cheaper. It was a great idea. Who actually leaves wine in the bottle to consume later, though? It was such a beautiful day on the patio that we polished off that bottle with the tasty accompaniment of an appetizer of crab and Anaheim chili artichoke dip. It came with soft warm pita bread and was the perfect pairing with the wine. We also ordered a few of the local sea salt caramels they sell at the bar. Sooooo good! The price points of everything were very reasonable. It was a perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon, or just a Tuesday like we did!! read more

My husband and were driving back from the coast and last-minute decided to visited Tualatin Estate Vineyards to pick up our wines from our membership and check out the location. It was beautiful - amazing view, lovely deck overlooking the valley and surrounding hills - and that was just the start. We got there early and were the only ones there. Megan helped us, and she was fantastic - so knowledgable, sharing facts about the history of the vineyard and wines, full of energy, fun to chat with, and very attentive, even when they got quite busy later. She made us feel right at home and made our tasting experience really enjoyable and informative. We look forward to coming back and hopefully getting to learn from her again! We had a Private Winery Tour & Tasting with friends on 2/18/23. McKenzie gave us the tour. She was so knowledgeable and surprised us all when she said she had only been with WVV for about a year and did not come from a vineyard/winemaking background. It was interesting to see behind the scenes of the winemaking process, and how much care and attention to detail that is given to each varietal we tasted. We ended the tour in a private area where we had light refreshments and were able to sample more wine. We enjoyed the amazing wine, the entire experience, and McKenzie was wonderful. read more

Cora at the tasting bar was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines they offer and I truly enjoyed both her hospitality and of course the wonderful winery and atmosphere. I was in town recently visiting family and had the opportunity to go on a tour of the winery. Our guide, Juliette, was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable, and made the experience fantastic. We followed that with lunch, and while the menu is small everything we had was superb. We were lucky enough to get a shady table on the patio with a beautiful view of the vineyards, it couldn't have been a more perfect day. I of course shipped too many bottles of wine home, and even then it was hard to choose between the great wines we tasted that day.
