Coeur de Terre Vineyard was a nice surprise. We had never heard about this winery nor did we plan to visit this space while in the Willamette Valley; but fortunately, we randomly found out about it and were so glad to check it out on a Sunday afternoon. There are so many different wineries around the Willamette Valley, so it's difficult to choose where to go. And of course, the most popular ones will likely be booked up. But my partner found Coeur de Terre and made a reservation for us to visit this winery in the late afternoon, which ended up being a delightful experience. The vineyard is located far from the city, up on a hill, surrounded by other vineyards and orchards. Just the setting itself is worth visiting. The winery with its own vineyard is spacious, with a large, open building that's open for the public. However, where you want to sit is outside on the patio, which overlooks the hills and vineyard. We had a reservation for 4PM on a Sunday, which was the last hour before closing. We tried six different wines: a chardonnay, pinot gris, rose, syrah and two pinot noirs. Now, we came to Oregon wine country because we wanted to explore pinot noirs, which is king in this part of the country. And I can say that the pinot noirs at Coeur de Terre were solid. I normally would not choose a pinot noir, but Coeur de Terre made me a believer. They grow all of their grapes here at the vineyard, and what I liked most about the pinot noirs is that they were more robust than other pinot noirs I've had. I like my reds more bold and heavy, and these pinot noirs were heavier. We had a wonderful experience here, exploring the pinot noirs and taking in the views and setting. The employee who helped us out was friendly, too. I recommend visiting if you're in the area. Tasting is $25 per person, and is waived with a $75 bottle purchase per person. read more

My friends and I booked a reservation for 4pm on a Saturday. The appt said 4-530pm we were 15min late and we called to let them know and they adjusted the reservation to end at 545pm. We were staying in McMinnville nearby and it was about a 20min drive. Once we got there they told us to schedule our Uber driver to come back for us because we would have no service and no way to call a car. They also said they actually closed at 5 but we could stay a little late. Because I guess we pre ordered the charcuterie board (which was tasty) we had to sit inside it was empty no one else and no music just not exactly the vibe outside would have been way nicer but for some reason they don't allow that (stating bugs?) The wines were good (their reds weren't my fav) but the pours were sooooo small. I get it's a tasting but we were noticing that. They have a dog who walks around the property and is so adorable and comforting. At the end we bought a bottle of their rose which was amazingggg ($24) and luckily our Uber driver came back for us. The lady recommended 3rd street after and we did just that and had a fun night. Oh! There is a loud bang outside every so often something about keeping the birds away from the fruit sooo just be prepared for that. read more

It was a rainy, gloomy day - no better place to spend the morning than this cozy and inviting winery. It's a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. The tasting room and the grounds are beautiful alone - now add some delicious wine and you have a perfect outing. Our server was knowledgable, taking us through our flight. The wines were all delicious and complimented the included charcuterie board nicely. Looking forward to revisiting both the wines and the location on a sunny day! read more

This is my favorite winery in McMinnville. The wine is fantastic, the tasting room is beautiful and inviting, the staff are friendly, the views and atmosphere is serene. Since covid, they prefer that you make reservations before you come. We stayed a little too long and the staff was super friendly, informative, and relaxed. I'm super lucky that my in-laws are longtime wine club members--I'm super glad they introduced me to this Oregon gem that I try to visit every time I come to McMinnville. read more

This is a true hidden gem, don't be put off by the gravel road to the tasting room. From your first greeting by CeCe, the winery dog, she'll lead you right to the front door. The view is amazing and the wines are delicious. Jon was so attentive and informative, truly enjoyed all his stories and recounting the history of the Winery. This winery was one of our stops for a Friday afternoon of wine tastings. We hadn't made reservations and although at the time of our visit they weren't overly busy, the staff seemed a bit unwelcoming. They have a wonderful porch with great chairs that I'd love to have at home but the orientation of it doesn't provide a good overlooking view of their vineyards when seated on the shady side of the porch. Our second visit up here today as part of the Mcminnville AVA passport weekend. Fun to drop and in see these folks again. Nice folks and it appears to be a family run business. Today, Jacque was pouring with the manager, Lisa. They were pretty busy but keep us going with talk of wine and upcoming releases. We left with a purchase of a dry Riesling and a Syrah that will be released in late May. They have it bottled but not labeled yet, so we were able to taste it and know that is exactly what we wanted. Local Syrah like that is rare so we definitely wanted a bottle. I know we will be back again. read more

The wife and I stopped in on Saturday afternoon, not even considering reservations. We got turned away as they had a few reservations coming in soon. Disappointed as it was a bit of a drive and it wasn't crowded. Made a reservation for Sunday, only half planning to make it, but they offered to waive the tasting fee. So glad we went. The wine was really good and the staff was fantastic, same two from Saturday. The winery dog even greeted us in the parking lot and walked us up, seriously! My partner, myself and our best girlfriend Paula decided to do some much needed r&r and wine tasting. We were sent downtown Willamette and I wasn't wanting a Urban Winery experience, we wanted a charming country experience. I went to Trip advisor and Quickly made a few decisions on where to go. We decided to check out Couer de Terre vineyard first. We were greeted by a little golden lab puppy, omg, the absolute best. We are dog lovers so this was a major plus for all of us. Mind you the property is very well maintained and the tasting room was charming, rustic, welcoming and nice and bright. Lots of doors & windows with breathtaking views. We were greeted by Janna and a very sweet young lady, who ended up being the owners teenage daughter. What a gem! Janna introduced us to the wine manager/ co owner of the property and she took the time out of her busy schedule to accompany us on a tasting of her delicious wines. We are in the restaurant business and possibly looking to bring in some new wines to add to our list. Lisa, you made our day, you smile with your eyes and your passion and love for our environment was pretty impressive and heart felt. I can see why your wine taste so good, the love that you and your family, team put into your wines is what sets you apart from all the others. We had such a great experience with you, your lovely daughter and Janna, that we didn't want to go home. Perhaps in the future you'll have accommodations on your ranch to accommodate guests. We all learned so much and it was such a delightful experience. We stayed right where we were and decided nothing else could top this experience. We had an absolutely lovely experience here and cannot say enough how wonderfully we were treated. This is our sixth wine region and you don't always get a friendly 'welcome to my place' kinda vibe that we got here. The Riesling was fantastic and we definitely left with a bottle to drink later. My husband and I were celebrating our 5th year wedding anniversary, and we stumbled upon this lovely winery tucked away off Eagle Point Road. The tasting room offers an intimate and relaxed setting with stunning views. Ron, our pourer, was extremely welcoming, even with our late arrival in the afternoon. Our flight included 6 wines, three of which were Pinots. The wines were incredible, and ended up purchasing more wine that we had in our budget :) However it was well worth it! During our tasting, Ron invited us downstairs to see the cellar. Ron spent a few hours with us explaining the wine making process. He went above and beyond his job description to make our visit a pleasurable experience. We recommend anybody making this winery visit a priority among their tour; and will be visiting Coeur de Terre again and again. It was a relaxing and enjoyable ending to our busy day. We have tasted wine all over the wine-producing world and this place is what the experience should be. That is to say, the staff were knowledgeable about every aspect of the wines, the terroir, and what distinguishes the local AVAs, especially the estate, and could answer any question. (Huge shout out to Joanne.) The wines were all very well structured and respectful of the grape. The charcouterie board was constructed to compliment the flight being poured. You can taste inside or outside, depending on where you are comfortable (although food is best enjoyed inside). Views are gorgeous and the surrounding forests and wines so restful. It is a bit off the beaten track, but in this case that is a virtue. read more

It's our planned last day visiting wineries during our vacation. We randomly looked at yelp and found the free tasting offer. Since we had visited 4 wineries in the same trip already, a free tasting sounds nice to try. So we drove up to the hill. The winery is definitely beautiful. We also felt very welcome. Very relaxing. We also saw a helicopter landing at the vineyard with guests coming to visit. That was fun. We went there a little close to closing time so they almost sold out the rose in the tasting room. The rose is a little not chilled long enough, but I still like how it tastes. The wine maker said that because a lot guests bought the bottle and drank on site and only him on site that day so he couldn't run to the storage to get more. Very understandable. I saw him running around and still was very nice to everyone there. I had a joyful time. read more

What a great winery to visit if you're in the McMinnville area. The location was off the beaten path and very worth it. Beautiful tasting room and the patio views were incredible. There are a lot of reviews from unknown Yeeps on here, so I thought I would take the time to write up a review that had some value, as most Yeeps don't put any value in reviews written by "orange heads" and "501's- People with no pics who give a business 5 stars, have no friends, and that is their first review ). So while the first reviews are suspect, let me provide a real review. First of all the location is a bit offputting. It's a bit off the normal wine tour circuit and takes a bit of an effort to get to. It also looks a bit sketchy when you first pull in... but don't let that deter you... good things await at the top of the hill. You're going to pass an old sketchy barn where you can see winery/harvest equipment.. don't freak out.. they're not making or storing the wine in there.. keep going up the hill. when you get closer to the top you'll see the absolutely beautiful new winery. It looks like a beautiful getaway cabin and I"m looking forward to drinking a glass or two on the deck this summer. Once inside you're going to have a blast. Solid wines, outstanding customer service and extreme friendliness are the rule here. "secret barrel tastings" and winemaker tours are almost guaranteed,.. enjoy yourself!! read more

Great service. Family owned, passion in what they do, and great wine. What could be better?

While driving outside of McMinnville, we went into a great looking valley, and to the Coeur de Terre Vineyard. We were met with a hello from a French fellow, who told us the story of this wine as we sampled the pinot noir wines. The tasting room on the top of the hill, a very nice open building with a great view. A few chairs are available in front of the building to enjoy the view. Maybe this is a stopping place for your picnic. We purchased a couple of bottles for our dinners for the next 2 nights. Big question of what we purchased: We like the pinots and found that the 2010 Pinot Renelle's Block was very tasty. There are around 3 wineries in the area, so come along to Coeur de Terre Vineyard. read more
