Wimpy drink cooler down stairs. No room service. Please put utensils in the ice rooms?? WiFi barely worked the whole time. They only serve pizzas upstairs in the evening, otherwise you have to make a super in advance reservation for the restaurant or go out. I wanted a lotion candle from the hotel that smelled like the lobby and she told me it was $28, but charged $38. There was also a hefty $450 incidentals charge that is supposed to go back on our card, but still, on top of the booking, maybe I missed it but I didn't see any warning of that. It's a nice hotel but that's insane. Maybe I'm being picky. I'd return though because all of the pros are SUPER PROS!

(4.5 stars) A boutique hotel/B&B hybrid in a 1920s building…read morelisted in the National Register of Historic Places, the Princess Anne Hotel is about as far away as you can get (literally and figuratively) from a just-off-the-highway hospitality chain. The location is close enough to downtown so that you can still find food in walking distance yet far enough removed from the noise to give you a bit of quiet. Unlike a downtown hotel, you also don't have to pay through the nose for parking. Staff are pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The porch and patio areas make for relaxing outdoor spaces. The Princess Anne is an old building and though generally well-maintained, isn't immune to the occasional odd creak. Our room was, overall, fairly spacious (it included a kitchenette and dining/TV area), the bed was comfortable, and everything worked as it should. That said, the bathroom was tiny, even with the sink located in a different room. If you can abide by its quirks, the Princess Anne offers character, comfort, and charm, all at a fairly good value.

My wife found the Princess Anne Hotel which dates to the early 1920's. One of the sayings on their website was "the luxury of a BnB with the privacy of a hotel". We went all out and reserved one of their 3-room "Master Suite". We ended up with THREE, VERY SPACIOUS and well appointed rooms. The bedroom included a king-size bed with a large flat screen TV attached bed; the kiving room included a sofa bed, upolstered chair and another large flat screen TV. The final room was dining area - complete with a dinig table, four dining chairs, two upholsted chairs and a kirchenette with a 2-burner stovee, a frg amd a microwave. The package my wife booked included an afternoon (5-6p) reception with a complimentary glass of wine or beer (addional glasses could be purchased) and a charcuterie board. You could enjoy your wine and charcuterie in their lounge area, on one of their porches (our choice) or back in your room. THe package also included breakfast which was served in the dining room. There was a breakfast "special of the day" or you could order from the menu. ALL of the staff - from the front desk personell to the servers in the dining room - was great. Great southern hospitality - always cheerful. This truly was a 5-STAR experience.

I was told that to have two beds (as advertised mind you), I would have had to contact them beforehand. Really? Do you have to contact a place that says there are two beds to make sure they have two beds? The breakfast was good and the koi pond was pretty but the guy was unreasonable and creepy. I do not recommend staying there. It is in a residential neighborhood so the area is weird and parking is limited. Stay away as they do not advertise as promised and have no desire to fix the problem.

Our 2 night stay at the Dry Ridge Inn made this one of our best vacations EVER. Everything was simply precious. The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast both mornings was delicious, and, they were very accommodating to my vegetarian diet. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening and enjoying a glass of the red wine provided for guests. Location was also very convenient. We walked to downtown Weaverville for dinner and drinks both nights and were just a short drive to enjoy some hiking and time in Asheville. We definitely plan to stay again in the future.

We booked the Fitzgerald, but after seeing the amazing bathroom in the Zelda, we switched. The Zelda is the only room on the top floor, so the privacy is nice. The tub and steam shower were amazing. They had a vase with flowers and a handwritten card for our anniversary. Willy and Shawnie are the most hospitable hosts and truly want you to enjoy your stay. We enjoyed latte macchiatos from their fancy coffee machines and a variety of delicious cookies that Shawnie bakes daily. We loved the Saturday evening bluegrass from 6-7. Breakfast each morning was delicious. We have stayed at a handful of B&Bs, and this was the friendliest and most comfortable one so far. We will be returning.

Willy and Shawnie love what they do and it certainly shows. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome and right at home. Willy took us on a tour of each room. Every room has the most fabulous bathroom. Roman tub, steam showers, whirlpool tubs. Impeccably kept ! The Inn is spotless. We stayed for 3 nights and we didn't want to leave !! The breakfasts that we were served were some of the best food we have ever eaten. Each meal had a fruit bowl that was an ever changing color each day. Main course was protein rich and of course there was a sweet ending. The poached egg creation that we had on the last morning was easily the BEST egg dish I have ever had (and we do a lot of traveling). I cannot leave out their Cadillac of all coffee machines. Expresso, cappuccino, latte.........all at the press of a button. Unlimited homemade cookies are always available as well as soft drinks and bottled water. Bluegrass on the lawn on Sat evening. They managed to keep the old school brick elegance, while throwing in a few modern amenities. The top observation deck presented a grand view of the city, mountains and surrounding properties. The in-room locally made goodies (craft beer, wine, snacks, coffee, ice cream) filled in between cravings, and it was nice to take a bevvy to the observation deck, or while strolling to the outside fire pit. The Nespresso machine and Aerolatté Milk Frother was a nice touch. And our favorite, the steam shower. What a nice luxury to have after a day of sightseeing, or simply to de-stress the body/mind. What we didn't like!! We booked the first floor suite A, which has an additional sitting room and kitchen appliances. Although we loved the space, the first floor was very noisy. The geo-thermal heating/cooling system actually vibrated the bed when it switched on (which was often), and the outside air condensers were loud. That, coupled with a very annoying white noise system above the bed, made for a very restless night of sleep. The speaker for the white noise was located above the bed, and while you could control the volume, you could not completely switch it off. The white noise sounded like forced air through a clogged air conditioner return, and not a soft ocean wave. And although the towel heater was a good idea, it was confusing to operate. Also, upon arrival, the room had an overbearing fragrance, and although it dissipated by the third day, it really distracted from a relaxing experience (especially coupled with the noise). The GM indicated they didn't use any cleaning fragrances, but all the guests I had enter the room commented on the odor. And finally, the property does not have any onsite manager (all issues are communicated thru text or calling), so any issues are not immediately addressed. For example, we couldn't light the fire pit since the fire starter was not working, and none of the guests had any matches or lighter. The in room safe was on the fritz (apparently low batteries), and the Bunn House directory suggested not to leave any valuables in the room, so I had to lug valuables around. Just be aware, all on-site satisfaction is remotely communicated, and may not be corrected immediately. However, the text response is very quick and prompt upon letting the GM know of any issues. Let me be clear. The Bunn House is a first rate property, unfortunately our visit was not as restful as we had hoped.

You're simply given entry codes in advance, and the last four digits of your mobile number are the key to your room. Exposed brick walls are complemented by Frette linens, a white noise dial, sauna shower, L'Occitane en Provence toiletries, and artisanal, local granola for your in-room breakfast.
