I've got to agree with all the other reviewers thus far - Dr. Conn and his staff are awesome. The only things I can really add that haven't already been said: He does not use any sort of electronic health record, nor does he have an online patient portal, but he does not lack for efficiency, it would seem. Of course, considering he's presumably been in the business awhile, he has his process down to a science. I could tell that while he certainly wasn't following a script, it was a formulaic sort of visit - but not in a negative way. It's not often that I'm happy with medical providers; I can honestly say that this was easily the best experience I've ever had at an optometrist's office, and perhaps top 5 across all specialties - and I have medical providers in my family! He was confident, but not arrogant, wise, but not a know-it-all, and generally had no detectable trace of any negative personality trait stereotype typically associated with many medical practitioners. If you can't tell, it was a refreshing experience - a nice change from my usual, so to speak. Oh, it DOES bear mentioning that he does NOT carry Luxottica eyewear, which owns 80 percent of all high-end eyeglass brands (Ray-Ban, Oakley, Prada, Versace, just to name a few), which is quite the feat. For those of you who HAVE to have the latest brand-name style, mass-produced so you can look like everyone else - just go to him for your exam. You can take your prescription elsewhere. The frames Dr. Conn's office carries span all price ranges, but they all appeared to be of high quality. The pair of frames I settled on were unique, stylish, solidly built, and, many months afterwards, I'm still quite happy with them. In short, I couldn't be happier with my experience at Conn Vision. Dr. Conn and his staff were pleasant, professional, his services are reasonably priced, the location is convenient - what more could you ask for? After my man gets into the car and then starting driving 200 miles he remembers he left his glasses on the roof of the car! Needless to say they were gone! He decided to check out Conn Vision by walking in to set up an appointment. They had availability to see him right then! AWESOME NEWS!! Quality service, fast and great eye glass selection! Dr Conn at Conn Vision in South Nashville is easily the best Optometrist I have ever been visited. A few years ago when I moved I was wanting to go to an eye doctor that: A) Was close to me and B) Took my insurance (VSP) On a whim I visited Conn Vision which met both requirements and was right above the entrance to Target in the same shopping center. Besides - I had to pickup some deodorant and toilet paper anyway - so, why not check them out while there?! Well, I was very happy that I visited Dr Conn. The staff was very friendly and Dr Conn was REALLY funny. He was able to keep you at ease through the entire procedure. Dr Conn seems to have the latest and greatest tools and they didn't even have to dilate my eyes - he has a new tool that shines a very bright light in your eye and allows him to see the back of your eye without the drops. Yeah, you have a white spot in your vision for a few minutes - but its better than the hours and hours of not being able to see well with the drops. I have recommended a few friends visit him and they all have come back and told me that they were thrilled with him and the entire experience! A couple things to consider, however, when visiting the office. First, it is a small office. As such - the selection of frames they have is smaller than what you might see at the huge chain stores. However, they do have some brands you won't find at the huge chains. I wear a pair of glasses from a brand called "Ooh La La De Paris" (yeah, its a real brand - oohlaladeparis.com - I wear the Herbert style in black). Its a boutique brand you won't find most other places. However - even if they don't have it in the store - they can order most any frame you want. Which brings me to my next point - my glasses had to be sent away to be made and the turn around time was close to 2 weeks. On a very positive note - I broke the temple on my glasses and, although they couldn't fix them - they were able to order a new temple for my glasses and I only had to spend 30 bucks for it and when it came in - they replaced the temple. I was very disappointed when I ended up changing jobs a couple years ago - I ended up needing to get some new glasses and found my new job had different insurance and I couldn't go to Dr Conn because my insurance only worked with the large chain stores. Recently - my new job has changed to VSP and I was allowed to go back to Dr Conn - which I did just the other day. I, again, ordered some Oohlala's (in the herbert style again) - and I can't wait to get them in! So - in closing: Dr Conn is awesome. His staff is great. They have the latest and greatest equipment for the eye exams. Small selection of frames - but can order most anything you want. They take a variety of insurances - might want to call and check before going to see if they accept your insurance. They don't make the glasses in the office - so, no "Glasses in an hour" here - but you do get great service, friendly and helpful staff and a convenient location. So, if you don't need glasses right this second - getting glasses from Dr Conn is worth the wait. read more

I have been going to Dr. Conn for about three years now. I have zero complaints! Dr. Conn and his staff make it easy to come in and not feel like a standard doctors office. I just visited Dr. Conn for the first time. I was skeptical about choosing a new eye doctor because the last one overcharged me for several services I didn't need. (Dr. Anderson in Hermitage) I've been very impressed with Conn Vision from the beginning. I called to schedule my appointment and was greeted with a friendly voice and a very reasonable time frame for my visit (only 4 days later). Upon arriving at the office, the staff greeted me in a very nice manner, and I only waited about 2 minutes to see Dr. Conn. His opening line was, "This isn't going to be your normal eye exam." And then he cracked a few jokes and began his exam. He was very thorough and even offered a free eye imaging to double check a possible problem with one of my eyes. He then setup a follow-up visit with me to make sure my Rx is correct. I can tell Dr. Conn is very passionate about what he does, and I will definitely be returning yearly for a checkup and for glasses and contacts. I have been to Conn Vision a few times now, a couple times for issues much more complicated than a simple exam, and I can say that every experience I've had there has been fantastic. When I started getting headaches everyday and had to squint to read I decided it was time for glasses. I found Dr. Conn on my vision insurance website and since it was close to work I decided on him. I made a great choice. I was so impressed with his friendly staff. I'm used to having to wait at the any doctors office, but I was taken right back. Dr. Conn made the exam fun and easy. He has a laid back personality and really tried to get to know me so he could recommend the best treatment. It turned out I needed new glasses. He made sure to explain what was wrong with my eyes to me instead of just saying wear these glasses. He really took the time to make sure I wasn't having any more problems with my eyes. Picking out eyeglasses was easy too. The tech who helped me made sure that I understood what my insurance covered and what options I had. I can't wait to get my new glasses and rid of the headaches. Having moved a great deal, I have had the unfortunate opportunity to visit a great deal of eye doctors. Dr. Conn is one of the best. Not only was he very efficient in terms of the exam, he seemed to delight in explaining the process to his patients. The part of the exam which stood out most was his willingness to explain the much dreaded "which one looks better" portion. At the end of the exam, I actually understood the process much better and ended up with a good feeling when I left. His humor also made the visit less painful as well. I also compliment the doctor in choosing not to rip his patient's off by charging a fitting fee. Being a new patient, I brought in my old contact boxes and glasses and waived the $40 most doctor's will charge. You should also spring for the $20 fee to take the picture of your eye. This saves you the frustration of getting your eyes dialated, as well as a much better portrait of your eye health. Park in the back too! There is a road which runs behind Panera and takes you to a back lot. Take advantage of this since parking is an inconvenience otherwise. read more

I can't recommend Conn Vision in Brentwood highly enough. The service is incredible and the staff is friendly. Dr. Conn is beyond knowledgable and a great guy. Why I'm writing this: they spent fifteen minutes getting my eyeglass frames reshaped to fit me better. They were determined to make the unruly frames fit me as perfectly as possible and weren't satisfied until they did it right. And, when the frame heating machine caused my lenses to show spiderweb-like defects, they offered to replace them for free. A weird problem, but they immediately understood the issue and took care of it. I'm a lifetime customer now. read more

I'm new to the area so finding reliable honest doctors has been difficult. Not the case for Dr. Conn. I called to make an apt at 9:50 and they had someone cancel their 10am apt. I got right in. Super friendly staff and very helpful. Dr. Conn is very kind and took time to ask and answer questions. They didn't try to sell me things and he didn't charge me for a contact fitting since I've been wearing contacts my whole life. Said my contacts would be in the next day. I found Dr. Conn on Yelp and after reading so many glowing reviews I decided to try him out as I needed a new eye doctor and had been unsuccessful. I got in pretty quickly and have just come from my first appoint with him and I have to say I have never had such a positive experience with an eye doctor! The entire staff is incredibly friendly and patient and they all go out of their way to explain everything they're doing. He's very educational and very into explaining what he's doing and why and how your eye works and just incredibly easy to get along with I cannot highly recommend he and his staff enough! Dr. Conn is the best. Needed a quick eye exam for my contact prescription and they found a spot that same day. I was expecting the quick run around but instead I got an experience worthy of a yelp review. He is kind and his staff is fast and courteous. Office is clean and we'll organized. Great frame selection and don't even get me started on the prices. His staff was able to find me a year supply of contact lenses for $32. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Conn and his staff! Dr. Conn has been my optometrist for almost 14 years. He truly cares about his patients and if it were a crime to love your job, he'd be guilty as charged! The first time I got conjunctivitis (pink eye) he sat down and took the time to explain to me what was going on and how we would fix it. The next major eye scare involved unblocking my tear ducts.
