This family member hasn't been able to see properly for years. She recommended cataract surgery. The eye doctor we had been seeing for years never mentioned that my family member needed cataract surgery. We went to the cataract surgeon for the surgery, and my loved one now has nearly 20/20 vision for the first time in decades. The staff at Eyeglass World was very accommodating and friendly. Also, when I had to return a few times for adjustments to my loved one's reading glasses after the surgery, the staff made the adjustments quickly. One of the adjustments was made at no charge. I have keratoconus, and I explained from the beginning that my symptoms only occur when the lens is in , yet the staff dismissed my concerns and blamed UV light exposure without conducting any proper investigation. Every time I went in it was a check to see if the inflammation has gone down and the inflammation definitely kept coming back. I repeatedly told them something felt wrong with the lens, but I was ignored. I even went as far as to wearing sunglasses every day. After nearly six weeks of ongoing inflammation, I was finally allowed to speak to the director who had originally fit my RGP lenses years ago. Once he examined the lens, he acknowledged the issue and said he would order new lenses. But even after that, no one at this location followed up or made any effort to ensure the follow up with me about proper paperwork and prior authorization that were submitted to my insurance. There was no coordination or urgency, despite my repeated concerns. When I visited on July 22 to request my medical records IN PERSON so that I could have them reviewed by an attorney, the manager initially told me he would provide me with a prepared document. But later during the same visit, he completely changed course and claimed I would have to "go through corporate." This kind of shifting response is not only unprofessional , it's a violation of my rights under HIPAA, which guarantees access to my own records. The general manager, Candace, was supposed to contact me that same week, According to them, she was out and would come in on Thursday , and despite multiple attempts and assurances, I've received no call, no voicemail, and no explanation. I've since filed a grievance with my insurance carrier and reached out directly to Henry Ford Health board members. It's now been over two months of pain, blurry vision, and being trapped in a position where I can't work or drive without a lens that causes me pain. Henry Ford Health System needs to do better. Patients deserve responsive care, honest communication, and full access to their medical records , not runarounds, excuses, and for me a form of possible medical neglect. The inner corner left eye is in the photo. And even though it doesn't look so big, it is Definitley really uncomfortable.

No doctor on staff - just a doc who comes in once a week it seems. Have no idea what his credentials are. My glasses have never been right prescription-wise and weren't from the time I picked them up. When I expressed this the owners were really obstinate and quite rude and we had an unpleasant exchange. It's now February and I tried to wear the stupid glasses again today (that cost way too much by the way) and they still make me dizzy. Rather than going back in there and deal with the unpleasant owners, I'll go elsewhere with an eye doctor on staff and get new glasses. I also notice that any of the positive reviews on here are really old. The most recent positive one is 4 years old and that's the "newest" - the others are at least 8 years old. It was terrible experience. Go anywhere else.
