Super skilled at what she does and super gentle with the kids. You definitely feel like you can trust her. My son had cavities that had to be filled, with laughing gas and it went very well. Finally, my youngest daughter had the most dental work done here after she experienced cavities and tooth decay due to drinking milk in bed as a baby and not brushing afterwards. She had to do the repair under general anesthesia at 3, which is super nerve-wrecking as a parent but under the care of Dr Nancy it went very well. I thought that was strange, my 8 yrs old never had cavity always have his regular check ups and last xray was done at previous dental office 6 months ago. Now coming to this new dental office, he didn't start with seeing the dentist to see maybe there is something questionable that needed xray to confirm but ordered xray to be done by the door as if it was getting a temperature?! Of course I denied it and was asked to sign a no xray waiver. I can't help questioning this clinic protocol on pediatric radiation protection, and I will speak to the floor manager over this issue.

I started grinding my teeth during sleep around 2-3 years ago. The situation becomes more and more serious past year. My previous dentist told me that everything was fine, as I have my retainer as the "cushion". Starting from this year, my previous dentist no longer accepts my company's dental insurance. And this change turned to be an opportunity getting me to Canaan. The office is so clean, modern, and high-tech. The front desk and Dr. Chou's assistant are super nice, welcoming and professional. Dr.Chou asked many questions to fully understand my dental history, dental hygiene habits, if any concerns or issues as I am a new patient. After a thorough examination, check my retainer status and my X-ray result, Dr.Chou immediately told me that I don't need a new pair of retainer but a customized night guard immediately to resolve the grinding problem: several teeth are being grinded and getting flattened. This observation matched the signs on my retainer. After a detailing explanation, my decision of getting the night guard, and the front desk's estimate of my insurance coverage, Dr.Chou took the impression of my teeth using a digital scanner -- I was concerning that I had to experience the "jelly mold" nightmare when I got Invisalign years ago -- the first time I saw a dentist office equipped with that high-tech digital scanner. Technology does make life easier. After this 1-hour appointment, I got home with next appointment email in the inbox. And I called back to transfer all my family members to Dr.Chou/Canaan Dental:)

Our dentist had recommended him and my sister was his patient when she was a teenager. Dr. Lee was nothing short of wonderful. He was always pleasant to be around and greeted everyone who walked into the office. His staff was attentive and showed a lot of care during all of our appointments. I don't know if they still do raffles at the office but during the 3 years my daughter had treatment they did. She won movie tickets one time. Towards the end of my daughter's treatment Dr. Sunwoo was in the process of taking over for Dr. Lee. We had the pleasure of having him oversee the last couple of appointments my daughter had. He was very personable and kind. Dr. Lee has since retired but left the practice he started in good hands. I recommend Dr. Sunwoo to friends and family.

I am done with being taken advantage of and not receiving the proper treatment. What made me change my rating and review of this place? My crown, which I've only had for almost 4 years, has fallen off TWO times within six months. When it fell out the 2nd time, not only did Dr. A create a hole in my crown while she was cleaning it, but it also fell out again two days later after she "temporarily cemented" back on again. Each time it fell out, I was expected to pay for cementing it on again. If the crown was cemented on property in the first place, it should not be falling out. Crowns are supposed to last for MANY years, and for a crown to fall out within 4 years is ridiculous. I also had to wait 1.5 weeks to get an appointment after my crown fell off the 2nd time. You would think that for an emergency like this, they would accommodate a time that works for the patient ASAP to fix the problem. Each time my crown has fallen out, Dr. A would accuse me for eating sticky and/or hard foods and grinding my teeth. Both are not true-- I know my diet, and as for the grinding, my partner and I would know that that were the case. When I come in for cleanings, I would also get accused for chewing on pencils (excuse me? I have NEVER chewed on pencils or pens before). Every time I come in, I experience pain, discomfort, and accusations. The dentist and whoever the assistant happens to be in the time being (she has a high turnover for assistants) are not very compassionate people-- they don't prioritize how their patients are feeling. They never check with me if I'm feeling okay or anything. The crown situation is the last straw for me, and I feel like now I can be completely honest right now since I am now leaving and taking my business elsewhere. The best part of this business is the kind, responsive secretary, Veronica. *Note: I am now with a new dentist for 2 or so years now, and the new crown that I got has never fallen out since. I also have not experienced any of the discomfort that I thought was normal to have when I was with Argonaut Dental.

It was done fairly quick. she used almost entirely sonic cleaning with barely any manual scaling. My teeth did not feel fully clean afterward, and I can still feel calculus between them when I floss. A brand-new hygienist who had just started handled my X-rays. For me, a practice's ability to retain its team says a lot about how it's run. Seeing all the previous employees leave and that she doesn't have enough staff (?) to do our cleaning make me wonder about their retention and overall management.

This place has great ratings, which is pretty rare for medical offices for some reason unless it's a new Yelp page or one that people just haven't bothered reviewing. It's kind of like how fast-food restaurants and clubs always seem to have low ratings for some reason. Anyway, the reviews here are great too. If there are any bad reviews, you kind of have to use your judgment to figure out whether it's a one-off situation or just an unreasonable customer. This isn't one of those huge offices with a bunch of chairs lined up like the DMV, where they're just churning patients through like an assembly line. I hate those places because they always overbook, and I end up waiting forever for an appointment. Even when I show up on time, I still have to wait a long time before being seen. I work late on weekdays and can't really take time off during the day. On weekends, I usually catch up on sleep and don't want to spend my day off running errands. They're not always available on Tuesdays either, which can mean an even longer wait for appointments. That's why the fact that they're open until 7 PM on Tuesdays is a huge plus for me. As you can tell from the pictures, the office is very clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff has always been friendly, and they've been very understanding about my tardiness and occasional cancellations to the point where I feel like they should hate me, but they definitely don't act like it. They also seem to have the latest and greatest equipment... I think. I'm mostly judging that based on how much more advanced their machines looked compared to every other dental office I've been to.
