Woke up Wed. morn to a conked-out fridge. Called home warranty folks, who, in turn, called Williams Dependable. Within just a few minutes, Michelle, the dispatcher, phoned me and said I would be David's first call of the day (this was just after 8:00 a.m.). In about another half hour, David arrived -- all business, a pretty serious fellow. Took a look at the fridge and in not more than 10 minutes, diagnosed the issue based on his knowledge of my make and model fridge, told me he'd order the part that day and install it as soon as it came in. Fri. morning, Michelle called (again, shortly after 8:00) and said David would be here between 10 and noon to finish the repair. Right about 10:30, he arrived with the part to install, but it was like a whole different dude. He was all business, sure, but he was also funny and talkative as he went about his work, he was genuinely concerned if I had managed to limp by for a couple of days with a fridge that was acting up, and he simply couldn't have been nicer or more service-oriented. Don't call this company. Unfortunately I did and the lady answering said it would be sometime the following week for David to come out. He came but was here maybe 10 - 15 minutes and very non-communicative. Said he would check on the parts availability and give us a call. She finally called never giving us a firm figure to come back but said a couple more weeks to get the parts in. I was suspicious of this company and gladly ate the $75 cash or check service call and got someone else very reliable to do the job. read more

Even though it was a Friday, he had the part ordered and delivered Saturday so he could replace and repair on Monday morning. I have had David fix my dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal over the years. I do have a warranty company and I always request Williams Dependable Appliance Service when I contact them. He is always on time, does the job correctly and leaves my house cleaner than when he arrived. I can assure you the next time something breaks down I will be requesting his services. Today I couldn't get my Frigidaire refrigerator to unlock. We lost power a couple of nights ago and I tried to do it myself. The pamphlet I got with the appliance is good for nothing but David's wife walked me through the process and thanks to her it unlocked. Referred to Willams from a home warranty company. After several bad experiences with other service companies Willams came to the rescue and fixed an ongoing dishwasher problem. I have a Fidelity Home Warranty. Williams is the service provider for them. I placed my service order, a very nice representative from Williams called me back promptly. I explained what was wrong with my gas dryer. She said that it likely was not the dryer, it was more likely a dryer exhaust line that was clogged with lint. She explained they usually discharge at the roof or through a wall. Well, she referred me to a duct cleaning company, that company came out, and that's what it was! Now everything is working properly. I am so impressed with their helpfulness and patience. I would recommend this company for repairs. read more

We had a terrific experience with Williams Dependable Appliance Service. Our stove was serviced by another company (via our Warranty Company) a few weeks back and this other company did not do a thorough job. We continued to have issues and we could not get in touch with them. We called the Warranty company and they had similar issues with this other company so they assigned Williams Dependable Appliance Service. We were given an appointment for the very next day. The technician from Williams arrived today, on time, and took a close look at the problem we were having. About 30 minutes later, he looked at the work that was done a couple of weeks ago and saw that two of the wires were crossed and not connected properly. My home warranty company unfortunately uses Williams. At first it seemed great... Called me, scheduled a same day appointment but that was over 1 1/2 months ago and I still have a broken fridge. Seems like the only appointment I can get is on a Tuesday and you have to love the 5 hour time frames they give you. This company will not call you ahead of time, so if you work you better take the day off because they don't give you a ten minute warning to get a relative or friend over to let them in. They will just leave a card or call you as they are heading back to their shop. I wish I had better things to say but just read the other comments and they seem to all jive and come to the same conclusion. Use another repair company if you want your appliances fixed right the first time. read more

The company was all that we could hope for in a service provider, pleasant, prompt, knowledgeable and efficient. They called and made a date to come out to evaluate my over stove microwave/fan within 3 days, came in their window of time, knew the issue just by turning it on-in less than 30 seconds. Another company had been out to "fix" my oven four times without success and finally said they didn't know how to fix it. After two tries, our warranty company finally sent us the right guy. We had issues with our dishwasher and home warranty sent us a repair company that didn't have a clue. Young repair man told us we were using the wrong kind of detergent....twice! Dishwasher also didn't heat, drain the water and didn't dry the dishes....a number of issues. I called and insisted to management at home warranty to send me a different appliance repair company. A day later, David (the owner) from Williams Dependable Appliance Service walked in, diagnosed a bad switch in 2 minutes. He was gone in 5 minutes, returned a couple days later and installed a new switch kit in less than 10 minutes. Couldn't be happier with a fun, friendly guy who is super fast and very knowledgable. Frig/freezer not cooling properly. Tech pulled frig from wall, vacuumed coils and re-set temp. Did not check for leaks, coolant level, etc. One month later had to call another repair service as problem persisted. They detected a small leak, repaired it and fixed the problem...all in under 45 minutes. Why have a repair tech show up to vacuum? read more

David came and worked on my dishwasher. It appeared to be fixed, but it turned out to be a bit trickier. He came back out promptly, diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. The Company came out via AHS call. Ordered a new part and put in in a couple of weeks later. I called left a message, and got no call back. Now, 5 months later, its almost impossible to get them to come back to look at it unless I spend the entire day waiting for them. This is going to sound like deja vu all over again. The home warranty sent them out to fix my dishwasher. I had spoken to the dispatcher before their visit & told her what was wrong & what part was needed--the discharge hose from the air gap to the disposal. Guy shows up w/ no hose. Says he has to go buy one after he finishes his other calls! I called the dispatcher & complained--she called the home warranty company & said they wouldn't do the work. Great experience from the moment David arrived til the moment he left! Our oven ("range") was taking 2+ hours to bake a loaf of banana bread!! He was cheery and kind to both myself and my 4 year old son and got right to work! Within about 5-10 minutes he had diagnosed the problem, a worn baking igniter. So when the it was supposed to light back up to keep the temperature of the oven, it wasn't doing that! He had the part in his truck and set to work replacing it. Felt like 15 minutes (if it was any longer it's simply because my son was talking his ear off)! He showed me the old part, explained the whole problem and repair and gave me the itemized receipt. We paid only the service call fee and saved at least $150 according to my quick internet search on how much it would cost to replace a baking igniter ($60 part + $150-$200 for the labor)! Fantastic! And just in time for Thanksgiving - which we are hosting this year for both our families. Thank you Williams DEPENDABLE Appliance Repair!! I don't know what all these "1-star" folks are talking about - I think they expect drive-thru service instead of trying to understand the process. Talk to your Home Appliance Warranty company first, there are no guaranteed timelines and I was told that this was a very busy time of year. Also, small businesses aren't call centers. If someone doesn't answer, try, try again! Michelle was VERY friendly and helpful both times we spoke! She left me a voicemail that she had penciled us in and then called back a couple days later (I had called her also) to confirm we still needed/wanted them to come at that time. I have no idea if they have good service or not, because I could not get past the secretary! My Old Republic policy sent them a work request on Wednesday for my microwave. As soon as I received the confirmation on Wednesday I phoned the company myself, had to leave a message, during business hours. No return phone call. I called again on Thursday and said if they did not respond I would have the company assign me to another service provider. No call all day on Thursday. At 7:50 AM on Friday morning, she calls me back and says the earliest to have someone to my house is Monday. She said she had called Thursday morning at 8:00 and left a message, which is not true as that is my cell and it registers all calls. Now that I go on this site and read the reviews, it appears to be there MO. I told her no that I would call Old Republic back and have someone else come to my house. I know it will still probably be Monday before anyone comes to my house, but this company does not deserve the business. But it does give me the idea that I check with yelp before accepting companies. read more

Williams Dependable Appliance Service isn't dependable. My American Home Shield warranty sent them out to fix my dishwasher. The technician arrives and states it's not the dishwasher but a plumbing issue and hands a request for $75 service fee without looking at or touching appliance. I demand he evaluate the appliance as I've had another appliance company say the same thing (also a referral from AHS) and they did the same (for which I paid $75 already). Since I've had 4 (yep you saw that four plumbing appointments which also require $75 fees) telling me it's appliance not plumbing (one of which actually fully evaluated and looked to be sure that something is wrong with appliance and not plumbing. When confronted and told of the previous technicians and their findings and asked not to leave without evaluating the dishwasher, David Williams of Williams Dependable Appliance actually looked at the dishwasher. He opened up the door, took off the panel and explained that it was plumbing as "there is no water" of course I pointed out their is definitely water and water spots and damage. He relented and suddenly said "oh yeah I see it now" as if it magically appeared when he heard the words. Then he said he was leaving their are no parts and I know that and you'll have to have a new one. He handed a piece of paper and requested $75 payment. I said please wait and called AHS told them what he said, what was happening in full detail, and that I didn't want him leaving without checking if it could be fixed or repaired. When I told him I had called AHS and they'd be calling his company and him personally to discuss the diagnosis now while he's still here. He refused demanded he wouldn't stay for and left immediately without payment (which I'm sure he'll submit to my warranty company so I can't dispute it as they'll pay and request it from me. Which seems to be normal way several of these company's behave. No time to look or diagnose but they want that $75 for showing up but no work or actual diagnosis. read more

Beware!!! Stay Away From Williams Depandable Appliance!!! Called home warranty to fix our GE over head range exhaust fan. David, the owner came and after only 5 min assessment and a fee, he told us that it needed new fan motors. He said it would take a while to fix though cause our GE fan is special cause it's Italian made and he would have a hard time looking for the part lol. Two days later, our home warranty called us that they would not cover it cause Williams Dependable reported to them that my over head range had missing screen filters (which was not true, we had screens) has caused greased to break the fan motor down (home warranty would cover wear and tear but not break down cause by greased). So I figured since Williams Appliance knows what's wrong with my exhaust fan, I decide to call them back instead going through my home warranty. After two days I finally got a hold of someone, I asked them if they could just come out and fix my fan since they know what's wrong with it. To my surprise, they told me that they can't fix it and advice me to just buy a whole new Over head exhaust fan. That's when I felt I was ripped off of $60 Home warranty fee. He was so quick of taking our fee and never had the intention of coming back to fix it. So I search the GE website and it took me literally 5 min to find the part I needed for my exhaust fan...and no it wasn't a special order from Italy lol and I could get the parts in 2 days. PS-I called the home warranty back to complaint about this company...they are sending me a new company for second opinion with the fees waive. Again Beware!!! Read other people's review to believe. Wow. Get an appointment from 10-2. I was home at exactly 10 am. I was home in the 4hour window this company requires. I have been waiting all day at home. I finally got anxious and looked outside. In the ground was a card that stated they had came by at 10:03. Really!! Took a half day off work. I tried calling three times with no answer. Finally I get a call back at 3:55 and was told. We have 18 appointments today. I said great. How about a courtesy call. They told me they do not do those. So finally she offered me an appointment tomorrow with another 4 hour window. I asked for a call and I can arrive within a half hour. Absolutely not. The only respect for time here is theirs. I will never call a company that has no respect for their customers. Sad example of a business that is customer based. Please find a more respectful company!!! If there were zero stars it would be an overstatement!!! read more

This is the WORST appliance service company I have ever dealt with. First us all, the wife is the "office manager" and NEVER EVER answers the telephone and takes up to 2 days to return her phone calls. He has been to our home 3 times to fix a dishwasher (6 months apart each time)- each time leaving saying he needed to order parts. Then calling a week later and saying the part was not in yet when he promised it would be in within 48 hours. Finally came back after receiving the parts (9 days later) and he STILL could not diagnose our dishwasher problem. He left here saying he would call back in the afternoon and give me an update as to my next step and never did call me back. The following afternoon I finally received a telephone call from The Home Warranty Company who left a message on my answering machine telling me I needed to call them back and reschedule an appt with another vendor. Would never recommend this company to anyone - they are NOT dependable and I would remove the middle name of "dependable" in their company name. read more

I had a problem with my range in my La Quinta house. AHS sent Sears who took the thing apart, changed parts and charged them a fortune and it didn't fix the problem. Called AHS again and they sent Williams. He looked at it and in 2 minutes said what it was but didn't have the part. Came back a day later and fixed it in 5 minutes. Works perfectly now. read more
