The staff here are truly amazing--so patient and kind with the kids, many of whom are going through really tough times. They make sure everyone feels comfortable, from helping with harnesses to cheering them on as they climb. It's clear they genuinely care, and they work seamlessly with our group to create a welcoming and supportive environment. You can tell they go the extra mile to make the experience special for the kids. The gym itself is super clean, and the climbing routes offer something for all skill levels. I've recommended it to friends and honestly can't wait to come back on my own time to try climbing myself. Whether you're a seasoned climber or a beginner, this place has a great vibe. There's a field for baseball & a playground for kids. A gazebo is also available but no grill station i think. Plenty of space for parking but no restrooms around. There are 8 courts so there's plenty of room without much of a wait. On the day we arrived only half were in use. Pretty good for a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Amenities: Practice Wall: The five court area has wood wall to practice both fore and backhand drills. Restrooms: The park has a permanent restroom structure but since neither I nor my wife used them we can't comment on their cleanliness. Parking: More than Abundant parking to allow for single or doubles play at each court. Shortfalls: I didn't see any drinking fountains so be sure to bring a cooler of water and such. There also aren't any benches in the court area so if you want to rest between games then bring a folding chair...and an umbrella if you want refuge from the sun. Overall: excellent set of courts that are under used, which works great for us because there's no wait! All-in-all this is a 3.5 but I'm rounding up because of the condition of the courts and lack of wait.

I appreciated the gritty environment from before the upgrade but the management here has done a good job with the here. They also have a few more cardio and cable machines upstairs if you're into that. Probably the "coolest" addition is the Big Ass fan downstairs.

It is a far cry from the muscle beaches that you will find in Cali. They do not have any weight equipment. They only have weight-based equipment. The equipment is decent durable and is open for the public to use. Some of the equipment includes: high bars, climbing ropes, balance beams, parallel bars, rings, and multipurpose posts. Some trainers use this area to hold some outdoor classes. One was going on while I was there. There is metered street parking and a few commercial lots within walking distance that you can park at. The meters cost about $2/ hour and the lots vary in price. I am a weight guy, but I liked this open air gym. If you are really looking for a good workout, you could park a little distance away, jog there, work out and jog back. A few final suggestions is to bring gloves. The equipment can be trough on the hands. And plan ahead. This area can get kind of packed during peak season and decent weather.

My guess is many in our own community do not realize it's there. The location is off Atlantic Ave. and 36th Street. Parking is my meter on the street, or parking garage. The park is free to use. Read the rules posted clearly prior to use. Since I practically live at the Oceanfront I can tell you it's very under utilized. My son has had team practices here and I personally think it was a much needed addition to our fitness loving community. The equipment is first class and consist of high ropes probably 30 foot high. Rings and pull up bars. It's adequate for us, but not impressive amount of equipment. Still I'm a fan. Watching the young athletes attempt to climb to the top is pretty hysterical, it is t easy. If your looking for a beach workout and want to see a sunrise too this is the place. It's open year around.

Both of them feel comfortable in the water and, while initially nervous, were constantly excited to go to swim lessons. Today I went on a rainy day so make sure to bring rain boots as parts of the main paved trail gets flooded. There is a playground two of them, a basketball court, playing field open and caged for games, a park office, but it is not staffed. A nice little getaway in the city with covered picnic shelters and uncovered benches to enjoy your meal. Sit back and enjoy the city view.
