Friendly service, they took their time. At checkout there were a couple of old head customers to chat with who were also friendly. Reasonable prices. For being as small as the location is they have a LOT of selection.

Although it seemed like lots of people were looking for fly-swatters at that particular time (because they were so close to the register), when I went in asking where the fly swatters were (because I couldn't see them from the door), when I asked, it seemed like the employee knew just where to find them and within a few seconds had touched down to pick out one of them. Although a little back and forth over price and a small selection of colors (between red and orange heads), I came to an agreement that red would match what I originally had years ago, though I really wanted another color I had had previous to that purchase but wasn't in the right mindset or location to purchase them from. Within a few seconds, I picked one out and handed it to the employee. I had only my CashApp card on me, as well as my Apple Watch (for Apple Pay), and when I saw the touchless/contactless terminal, I was astounded to find these in this location - in a smaller town. I knew the Williams Lumber headquarters had had Apple Pay terminals for years, but I wasn't expecting Apple Pay here, and after a few moments, out I was - receipt in hand ready to walk back home - a tiny bit more than 1 mile. There was no mention on the door of what payment choices this place had, and I hadn't checked the Yelp page before I left home to see what they offered. A little more research and I might have had some idea of what was offered here, because in the past, it's always been a little troublesome knowing just what to expect even though I'd written other reviews knowledgeable and with other experiences, because a little rain and an umbrella can't keep me away when I need a thing or two in a pinch and only have two feet to get me where I need to go when car-travels weren't an option.

The staff really makes the difference, as they are extremely knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help, including giving recommendations on how to handle a project if asked. They're the best thing about this place. The space itself is pretty large, and they do a great job of packing in everything from paint, to power tools, and seemingly everything in between. Not much in the way of housewares unlike some hardware stores but that's a non-factor to me. Technically affiliated with Ace Hardware which helps for their rewards program. Parking is also not bad in the Saugerties area which is helpful too (since they are on Main St). I come here whenever I need a serious hardware store for a project, and they've never let me down.
