I was happy to find a Williams-Sonoma that's not in a mall and is easy to access! The store in Nora is relatively new. I stopped in to look for a tortilla press. I was greeted by a friendly clerk who showed me where to find the presses. The store is decorated for fall and Halloween. They have a lot of inspiration. I saw some gadgets that I needed. I was flabbergasted by all the fancy coffee makers. I can't imagine spending $5k on a coffee machine. I attended one of their cooking classes - Kung Pao Pork", today. Chef Barb was down-to-earth, informative and engaging. She taught us a new way to prepare rice. We watched her prepare the chicken and veggies and learned about a blended olive oil that they sell in the store. And the best part was we tasted the final product. The staff is friendly and helpful. During my visit, they were hosting a "bake sale" to raise money to fight hunger in children. I picked up a coffee cake to support the cause. I'll be a regular at the store. Didn't know it had moved from the mall. Took a trip down the street and definitely not going back. Not one person asked if we needed help with anything, not one person greeted us. Past times at the mall we were always acknowledged. Definitely disappointing but now I know we will spend our money elsewhere. We were planning on purchasing a knife set and a new pot but it definitely didn't feel good being in there after that. The first thing to note is that Williams-Sonoma moved out of Fashion Mall and into Nora Shoppes, an increasingly high-end retail center down the street a bit next to West Elm (which did the same thing). I'm not 100% sure, but I think one more sister store is also going in. The address has been updated on Yelp and is correct now. So, how is it? Well, it's pretty accessible. There's accessible parking almost directly in front of it. The two-sided doorway is pretty manageable. There were some sports in the store where I struggled with access and others where I struggled because a wheelchair bump would mean I was buying a really expensive, fragile item I probably couldn't afford. Williams-Sonoma, if you don't know, sells kitchen wares and home furnishings. The emphasis is on high-end items. You won't find a Keurig here. You'll find a $2,995 Breville Oracle® Dual Boiler Espresso Machine, however, and other items that you just look at with bewilderment. Their big kick right now seems to be Stanley Tucci-branded items along with seasonal items. I will confess I lusted after some of the Halloween items. While I felt very welcome at West Elm, I will admit I felt a bit less welcome here other than one super helpful employee. I had another employee who seemed wary of me - I mean, come on, that's somewhat legit. I'm a frumpy wheelchair user with no sense of fashion and garage sale sensibilities. Can I shop at Williams-Sonoma? Sure. Maybe not everything, but shopping here's now out of the question. I can't deny, despite my obvious cynicism, that I actually liked this store and I liked it more than when it was at Fashion Mall. It feels a little more relaxed. It smells great. It looks good (the flooring could use some assistance). It has some seasonal items, candles, and small housewares I adored. Most of the employees were friendly if not exactly welcoming (except for Mr. Wary who, by the way, was less fashionable than I was. So there.). If you want to elevate your game, especially in the kitchen, this is a great place to start. read more

I hadn't been inside a WS since before the pandemic so I wanted to see if it was just as magical as I remembered. I only had about 15 minutes before I had to be at the dermatologist so I figured I'd pop in and see without being able to stay too long and get my Amex in trouble. This is a much smaller location than the one I used to frequent in San Diego but it was magical nevertheless. Lol, there's just something about a bunch of cooking tools, ingredients and textiles all aesthetically placed that makes me so happy. The ladies working were so friendly. I asked if they have a clearance section and one of them pointed me to a few little areas where there were markdowns. I found a cart by the bathroom with some goodies, got a small jar of garam masala that was marked down from $10 to $4, checked out and headed on my way. I will definitely go back when I have more time to really look at everything but in the meantime I'll be stalking the website looking for more deals. read more

I wish there were 1/2 star rating because this would be were I would use one. The store itself was "good" but the gentleman that was our cashier was "great". He did not have a name tag on but he was what customer service is supposed to look like. Let me back up. My Mom & myself were purchasing a couple of gifts for a friend. I wasn't sure which olive oils to get because she is on a "special diet" so I had to take a photo and wait. Once we decided to what to purchase, we purchased the items individually to our cashier allowed up to pull off the price tags, then bagged the items as if they were a gift pairing. I'm going out of my way to Yelp this particular store because it was so out of bounds something needs to be said. I've been shopping at various WS stores for 20 years and online. On a recent trip to Indy, my friend and I stopped into this store. We were asked maybe 20 times (often by same associate) if we needed help between the 2 of us. Ok, annoying, but not a big deal. But very weird. Even after one of us had finished checking out and stood there with, you guessed it....bags that have Williams Sonoma plastered all over them, do you need help? WE ARE GOOD! Thank you :). Goodness. The kicker, though: we stood in a fairly long singular line for 4 registers to check out. When it was time for my friend to be called, I walked up with her. We were buying items on the same card, but ultimately decided to put them on separate cards. We were scolded a good few minutes by the associate asking if we were together or not - and ultimately, she would let it pass this time that I stood at the register with her. !?!?! Umm, I was next in line? We almost dropped our items and walked out. Look, I get it, seasonal help. How about some common decency or sense? I swear, sometimes I want off this planet, if this is the world we are all going to inhabit now. read more

I am fairly new to the Indy area and I haven't been to the Fashion Mall very much. I decided to stop in Williams Sonoma to look for hand soap dispensers. I found some glass foaming soap dispensers with a foaming concentrate. They only had a few scents to choose from (Lemon, Pink Grapefruit & Fleur De Sel) Two different sales people helped me (one with the soap dispensers and another offered to take my purchases and hold them at the counter since my hands were full). Both women were incredibly nice. The store had a lot of really fun kitchen items. I probably could have spent longer in the store but I had some other errands to do. The soap dispensers I also ended up LOVING! I prefer foaming hand soap for the kitchen and bathroom sink. I got the Lemon scented soap for the kitchen and the Fleur De Sel for the bathroom. read more

Came into the store to purchase a set up of cookware. They didn't have the color I wanted in the store but offered to order it to my house with free delivery and said it was in stock so I'd have it in 3-4 days. I've received 3 deliveries and all have been wrong/damaged. Each time the only thing the CS rep could do was send an email to the fulfillment partner and order a replacement. The item is now on back order and it's been over a month since my original order. The only reason I'm not canceling the order is because I opened their in store credit card to get a 20% discount and that would be wasted if I cancel now. I really like browsing through Williams-Sonoma. The store is arranged into groupings of food and kitchen related items. I can't help myself from picking up a utensil that I've never seen before or some food item "starter" or additive. In fact, if they weren't charging mall prices on everything, I would probably buy more gadgets. Over the years, I have picked up a number of items and they all seemed to have high quality. On my most recent visit, they had samples of barbecue sauces with some freshly cooked meatballs for dipping. End result? I ended up buying a sauce that I had never heard of before and probably wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. (I ended up making dinner that night with the sauce as a key ingredient.) And that's the point. Williams-Sonoma is a place to find quality products that can either make your home food preparation more simple or add to the flavor profile. Fight the routine! Yes, Williams-Sonoma is overpriced. And yes, it's just a touch too precious. But this is a store you go to not to find a great deal or awesome sale item, but to gain inspiration. This is a store that makes you feel good just browsing around and looking at all the expensive and completely unnecessary items -- items that make you smile because you live in a country where you can get a fork just for retrieving cornichons out of a jar. This Williams-Sonoma in the Keystone mall is like the others: blissfully scented, cramped full of stuff and with nary a worker to be seen to help you out. But I managed to find my rosemary-mint-scented diffuser without anyone's help, and was greeted by the friendly woman at the checkout counter with a smile. I'll be back again, for sure, because the draw of Williams-Sonoma is too great: where else am I supposed to find denim aprons, or copper egg dividers, or garam masala spice-infused pork rubs? read more

Actually, I had no idea that this store would far exceed my very low expectations for an overpriced kitchen retailer, but in reality this store is quite fabulous! The product selection is vast and varied and seasonal. The wonderful displays are perfect for forward season thinking shoppers like myself who like to be inspired by ideas to incorporate into our everyday lives. Case and point was the display of pumpkin bread mixes in appropriately thought out locales. That timely presentation worked on me as my little one had told me how she had a grand time making pumpkin bread at school. There was also near a display for frozen hot chocolate mix and other winter time drink mixes. Next to it, there was the display for appropriate utensils, and items to compliment all that you've been drawn in to see. I think it is sound advice to warn that this place is intoxicating and hypnotizing all at once. The service, although overwhelmed at times, was knowledgeable and on point. The price are high, but the end result of that delicious pumpkin bread that daddy and daughter made, was more than enough to sell me on the quality of their goods. I love going to this store with my mom so naturally I decided for mothers day I'd get a gift basket of random stuff like cooking oils and kitchen towels to go with her other gifts. Anyway I walked in and nobody really greeted me which didn't matter because I didn't know what I was looking for. After a while I tried to get the attention of several ladies with little success. Finally one lady started talking to me. At that point I kinda knew what I was looking for so I was indifferent. I've had good and bad experiences with the store, I'm sure me and my mom will be back. Shopping is part of my job, not a recreational activity, so fast, efficient, friendly and smart service is what I expect, especially knowing what I spend on behalf of the couple I work for each year on things for the home. I have had nothing but BELOW EXPECTATION experiences recently at all of the Williams-Sonoma companies, which include Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonama (kitchen) or Williams-Sonoma Home. This includes rude staff (taking phone call rather than waiting on me when I am at the counter), lack of service (W-S Home employee on personal phone call) or unprofessional service. From someone who shops throughout the city, I would recommend Restoration Hardware (GREAT staff), Z Gallerie, or Bed Bath and Beyond (many of the appliances at Williams-Sonoma are available at Bed Bath and Beyond, and if you get the 20% off coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond in the mail, it is a great deal, and their people always ask if you need help and are great) read more

I ventured into this store yesterday after taking care of business at the Apple Store. Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate to shop. Therefore, if I don't buy what I need online, and have to venture into an actual store, then I'm usually not going to browse. I probably frustrated the heck out of the sales people because I went in and told them that I was looking for a good quality fry pan but would only buy it on sale :-) Walked out 5 minutes later with a set of Cephalon fry/grill pans on sale for $99.95. I love browsing W-S catalogs, but the prices always deter me. Don't get me wrong, they have quality stuff, but I spend as little time in the kitchen as humanly possible, so to buy every handy dandy kitchen gadget known to man/woman is a total waste for me. I will no longer shop at William Sonoma. Sur La Table has a far better selection and provides superior customer service. I received a paella pan as a gift. I do not make the dish. All packaging and tags were intact. I brought the pan to be returned for a store credit since I did not have a receipt. Even though the price tag specified that it was a William Sonoma item, the return was refused. Sur La Table has a much more accommodating return policy. read more

It's expensive. It's pretentious. But it really is good cookware. Once you've cooked with all-clad pots and pans, there's no going back. They also have really high quality spices and ingredients--some of which can be bought more cheaply if you know where to look. So long as you don't mind paying for it, and you really enjoy cooking, this is a place to go. But do look out for sales! read more

The store staff were friendly and the after Halloween clearance was a great deal. I can spend an hour or so just perusing the gourmet collections of everything from spices/candles to high end cookware. Any cook will love checking out what is new or 'hard to find' items sprinkled through the store. Some fun kitchen finds for xmas ideas - Star Wars cookie cutters :) The only thing keeping this from a 4 star was the LONG wait to check out. Don't plan a quick pop in for an item. Don't bother creating a wedding registry here. They use 1980's technology for you to scan your items. We spent over an hour scanning items and picking things out, just for it all to be completely lost because of their crummy technology. Took my business to Crate and Barrel instead. read more

This listing of Williams Sonoma is for their home, not the kitchen and bath store. I actually like both of these stores, although they are on the pricey side. I have learned that I can go to the home store when in search of that unusual accessory item. I've had pretty good luck finding those types of things here. Case in point: I searched all over the Fashion Mall some time ago for the perfect paperweight. Oddly enough nobody really had anything...some stores such as Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware didn't even have paperweights. Right before I gave up, I wandered into Williams Sonoma and told the staff what I was looking for. Alas, they did not have paperweights either, but I did come away with a very cool 8" crystal ball on an ebony pedestal. This was a gift for hubby, who is a finance manager - it was perfect! It looks great on his desk and some of his associates even thought the piece was humorous, given the work he does :-) I also love all the nature-inspired do-dads that Williams Sonoma often carries. One of their most recent collections involved oversized renditions of shells, coral and sea urchins, all in white....simple, but very elegant. read more

The furniture is absolutely gorgeous. While I have purchased any big items, I have bought some picture frames and stationary from this store.
