This has been my go-to store for my kitchen. However, service was not good. No one greeted, no assistance finding things. I hate to assume but clearly my perspective is that I did not have the right skin color. Besides the fact that I'm a doctor that did not help, but the ladies in there couldn't get past my skin color or race. Their loss. I had a weird experience here today and want to share so other shoppers can be aware. I made a return of a gift, and was issued a gift card. I decided to do some shopping in store and when it was time to ring up my items, they told me the gift card (that they had just issued) had no value on it. They asked me "are you SURE you don't have any other gift cards". Luckily since it was the same encounter they issued me a new gift card, and the process was relatively smooth, but I know that if I had left the store with the first gift card I would not have been able to have it honored later. We came here for a cooking demonstration. It was interesting and fun. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because of a staff member not doing the demo. They poured little tiny juices for everyone. Basically a sip or two. I picked one up and handed it to my daughter. Then a few minutes later I picked up another for myself and she loudly exclaimed in disgust "you're having "another" one!! We came for a specific knife, but they didn't carry the line we wanted. However, the manager was super helpful in finding the style we wanted, based solely on our description and needs. He was super knowledgeable with his knives. We really liked that they offered fruits and veggies to try out the knives, whereas most william-sonoma stores just had a cutting board to practice cutting air. read more

My husband and I returned some things that we received from our family off of our wedding registry (over $400) back in December 2022. It is now 3/29/2023 and we have not received our money back! I'm shocked and feel like they straight up robbed us and are now just giving us the run around. It's hopeless, I called 8 times. Today was my last time calling. Initially we made an in-store return and were issued an E-merchandise card via email, we also updated our address with them as we had moved. They said it would take a few min to get it. We received it a day later and when we clicked on it it said ERROR. We called and they canceled that one and reissued a new one, they said we should get it in our email in like a week. This process was repeated 2 more times. I called again (even speaking to supervisors) and they said they would cancel this and send us a physical card via mail, I double checked our address with them, they updated it and said we should receive it soon. This process was repeated 3 times! Every time the address was wrong! They always apologized said that they escalated the situation and made sure to put detailed notes of our new address. I spent hours on the phone, repeating the same things over and over to different people, listening to them type away on their keyboards, yet every time I called again and gave them my order # they were clueless of the situation and when I would ask what address they had on file, it was always our old address! Either they were faking putting in all those notes or they are just completely incompetent. Idk what's worse. We returned your product and you are supposed to return our money... that's how it works. Your e-merchandise and mailed gift card method is so unprofessional. If you return something you should be refunded right then and there. You sell gift cards in store, right? You should have physical cards you can issue in store like Anthropologie and other store. Unacceptable read more

Went in here to get a champagne stopper because my cork wouldn't go back into my bottle. As soon as I get in I am greeted and I am asked what I am looking for and I am immediately helped by the kind sales women. She showed me all the options and how much they cost. I ended picking up this really nice champagne stopper which was a little pricy but it works and looks beautiful. Great customer service and lots of great options for all home good needs. If you need your knife professionally sharpened, come here! It's $5 per knife and 1st knife is free. I've tried buying those cheap easy to do at home sharpeners but they've never worked that well. And its also really hard to find knife sharpening services in SD for some reason. You can drop it off here and pick it up next day so easy process! Knives cut everything like butter again. read more

Ordered two separate items at different times-- a Le Creuset pot and an All Clad pan. Both items were in stock at the time with no indication that there would be a delay in shipping. The first item I ordered at this store, the All Clad pan, was delayed out by two months. By the second order delayed email, I emailed in to cancel. The clerk in this store told me that this item has been available to ship that very same week. The second item, the Le Creuset pot, was ordered in March. I have received three delay emails. Here's the thing: this item had no backorder indicator. It had an "in stock" indicator on it for the color I ordered. Just today I was fed up and canceled, and the customer service rep Sylvie explained condescendingly to me that multiple countries are still in lockdown and unable to manufacture these items, and that they're greatly affected by COVID. This honestly boiled my blood. I worked customer service in a front line position DURING the pandemic and I have great sympathy for everyone unable to work or affected by the pandemic. What I don't understand is why Williams Sonoma would say on their website that these items are in stock, or to instruct their associates in store to tell customers that something is in stock but then say that the order is delayed by several months. If you do not have the item in stock and it must be ordered for receipt, then it is NOT available. If Williams Sonoma had been honest and said that these items would be several months out and that they were out of stock, I bet they wouldn't be placed in this situation right now where there are disappointed customers wondering why their "in stock" items have never arrived. I'm never shopping with Williams Sonoma again. This is a prime example of corporate greed and I'm better off buying direct from the manufacturers who are honest with the status of their stock. read more

I've ordered a few things during the holidays from here and I've been happy with all my purchases. I love walking around the store there is so much I want for my home and kitchen. They even have cooking classes here too. For this visit I was coming back to return an instapot my mother did want from Christmas. It didn't come with a packing slip but they were able to use my email confirmation from my online order to complete my return. I was worried for a moment because most places will turn you away without a packing slip. It was such an easy return process, it was never opened. I was in and out no questions asked. I got a refund to my credit card. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They had a beautiful Chinese New Year table scape at the entrance. They had a really nice plate setting with gold dragons on it. I'll defiantly keep shopping here, they have some great deals when you find things on sale. I recently had an issue with a gift product purchased online. Main customer service number was so busy - so instead, I called the closest store which was at Friars Road in San Diego. Samantha picked up immediately and was so unbelievably polite and kind that I wasn't upset any longer. Her customer service skills are exceptional. Speaks volumes about that particular location of Williams Sonoma. We called the store and they said they were too busy and would call us AFTER thanksgiving. I had a very disappointing customer experience here today. I don't usually write reviews but I was upset by the rude way I was treated by the sales person. First of all, no one greeted me at the door or even while in the store. There were no salespeople around. I wanted a specific product that was not on the floor. I finally got a salesperson attention and he said he would look in the back for the product. He did find it, but it was packed in a shipping box. I expressed concern that I was worried the skillet may be to big for what I am looking for. He did not offer to unpack the shipping box to show me the product. I said I was in a bind because we are in the middle of a remodel and I hoped the pan would work - well, he then acted VERY suspicious of me when I asked him if I could return the skillet if when I opened the shipping box it was too big. He acted like he thought I was going to use the skillet and then return it. I have never felt so irritated by a rude salesman!! I used to LOVE this store but wow, this experience has made me NEVER want to go to this location again !I will say, I am treated WAY better at the Fashion Valley location. read more

Came here for the paella cooking class, which was $30. The class was informative, but all you do is watch someone else cook. The paella was also just okay. I thought the rice was definitely not cooked all the way. I did learn some useful cooking tips, but most of the cookware that was recommended was from their store, which is quite pricey. We're still waiting on the recipes from class to be sent to us (took it yesterday), and they didn't have the pans that come with the class in stock, so also waiting on that. Considering it's the same class at all the stores, I feel like that should've been in stock in preparation for the class. Store-wise, it didn't look that well-staffed, but the store was not that busy. There's always some kind of coupon, but everything is still overpriced. read more
