Wow what an incredible experience seeing the first Williams Sonoma storefront. Both staff members who helped us were very friendly and made sure we were able to find all of our kitchen essentials

Really cool to see the original store from Williams Sonoma. Lots of pictures of the owner and family and the store is in their original house /storefront. Street parking. Lots of staff to answer questions and suggest what to check out (they showed me a stove that's really cool). And for national earth month it's nice to pitch in an extra dollar to support planting a tree at checkout.

    So fun !

I could never do Williams S dirty . No way man . I don't know how anyone could . Not saying if u received poor service , that's ok , But , let me say , this shop is an institution, let's lay a little respect down . Not only is it where it all started , it was the beginning of luxurious , beautiful imported items and tools , and much needed accessories for a well stocked kitchen . Nuff said . The staff are fabulous , always , without exception . I have purchased great utility items here , as well as more decorative, fun purchases . Of course the of the stock varies & this is a small store , Other locations are bigger and more inventory, no doubt . But if you are in Sonoma , I say , check it out . Peets coffee is just a stones throw away . They did have cooking classes , I have not attended , but I have noticed them & it looks so cool & fun . I read an amazing essay about Williams Sonoma , trying to remember it . So rich & moving . I have to google it . Today , new SIP is in effect , not for Sonoma County & I think they could use support , totally . Restaurants are open , outdoors , and so important to support our bounty of amazing shopkeepers , even ones that are a chain . They won't survive w out us ! I see you Williams Sonoma , and I like it all ! https://www.foodandwine.com/lifestyle/williams-sonoma-essay Love this ! Lovely writing & heartwarming .

The Nordic Ware mini-Bundt cake pans are sturdy and easy to use and clean.

This is my favorite Williams-Sonoma store; and rightfully so because it's the original, very first one, when and where it all began over 65 years go. It's small, compared to the other Williams-Sonoma stores but there's just something about it that makes it special. It's true this original location doesn't carry everything in it's expensive catalog line. But the store on Broadway has a way of welcoming you in and experiencing Williams-Sonoma like no other. All of the staff and sales reps are outstanding! Excellent customer service! They are always helpful, even the times I wondered in, looking for a gift and in a rush. I quickly learned that being in a rush, especially in a shop like Williams-Sonoma isn't feasible. The high quality of the times, the way things are placed and arrayed, one must take time. As I say, Williams-Sonoma is to be experienced. Don't rush! For years I've seen the Nordic Ware cake pans in the Williams-Sonoma catalogs, especially at holidays. And each time I would ponder "what would it be like to have a piece of cake made with such a luxurious and beautiful pan?" I realize it wasn't just the cake or pans, but just about everything that Williams-Sonoma has to offer. And, any and every holiday seems to shimmer and glow ever so much when Williams-Sonoma puts a holiday table or menu together. The store in Sonoma reflects that and it has a warmth to it. It takes me back to happier days and simpler times when weekends and holidays had families, friends and neighbors gather. These days it's difficult to have the time. One cool aspect to streaming video technology is that there are literally hundreds of cooking and baking shows via The Internet. And, watching the clip of the making of a Williams-Sonoma Bundt Cake recipe with a fancy Nordic Ware cake pan on the W-S website won me over. I went into the shop on Broadway to check out the Nordic Ware live and in person. These pans are worth the fancy price. So well-made! Very sturdy with the intricate patterns and various motifs. I am not a good cook or baker by any stretch. Yet these pans and the special accompanying boxed cake mixes that Williams-Sonoma offers is delicious! I was so impressed and delighted that I returned to the shop again today and bought another pan. And I figured out, that in a way I'm saving $ making my own cake. Because now I don't have to go to Starbucks or Peet's so much to have a scrumptious slice of lemon cake or cinnamon-strudel coffee cake. I can enjoy it fresh baked with my morning coffee in the comfort of my home; especially on chilly weather mornings. And if I do get an invite to a holiday party or celebration, I can bring a cake for dessert. If you're looking for something special and you also would like to experience a bit of Martha Stewart or Julia Child, go to Williams-Sonoma, especially the one in the town of Sonoma, on Broadway not far from the Plaza.

    Welcome!

Just as fun to say, it's fun to browse even if you're not a home chef. They have brand name, quality cookware, bakeware, and kitchen items. Gifts and gadgets. Basic items (inexpensive) to "what do I do with this" specialized items (pricier). All at reasonable, competitive pricing for the brands. Locally owned since 1972. Awesome! The place is not particularly large, but they have a knack for utilizing space without feeling cluttered. I stopped in recently because I happen to be in the area and heard they carry Smithy, American made cast iron cookware. In particular I was looking for the carbon steel line of Smithy which is supposedly lighter in weight than their cast iron line. The young sales associate helped me locate the Smithy display. He was aware of the brand and knew where it was exactly in the shop. Lovely, gorgeous pieces. Pricing was on par. After doing my weightlifting kitchen curl test with a 10 inch skillet, I concluded that it is less weighty but I'm too weak to handle even that carbon steel weight. However I am uncommonly lacking the normal upper body strength. So you most likely will not have the same issue as I.

Noy was my project manager and was a blessing. He held my hand thru the entire process and communicated everything clearly. Other contractors I consulted declined certain suggestions, but Noy made them happen. The work was first rate as were the materials. The crew was polite and respectful of my kids and my cats. Finished product is beautiful, but the process and project management is not as advertised…read more We met with 5 different contractors to get bids for our small bathroom remodel project. Green Bay Remodeling was the highest bid by 20-50%. We selected Green Bay because they pitched themselves as a turnkey solution and I would simply sit back and just make payments. In reality I needed to be involved constantly to keep this project on track. A few examples: - Sourcing: In the sales meeting, we were told that materials would be sourced by them from their "catalog" and shipped from "their warehouse". I liked the simplicity of that, but in reality, they order things from online vendors like Wayfair and Home Depot and shipped directly to my home. This turned my garage space into their warehouse for nearly 2 months. Also, it is just bad business to ship heavy, breakable things - for example, we had 2 toilets delivered to our home in giant packages - both of which were broken on arrival. (there's a hardware store less than a mile from my home that has toilets in stock) - Communication: We were promised daily updates, this did happen once the construction work started because they often wanted a payment, but we went for long times not hearing during planning process. - Timeline was set by PM as 4 weeks from sign date for permits and planning (closer to 8 weeks due to absences and avoidable omissions on permit application) and 4 weeks for construction (that was met with multiple issues and creative workarounds deployed). - Presence: We understood the PM would be present on the site and would be the main point of contact, but he was missing at key times - including during an inspection with the city permitting department - Attention to detail: Materials were sourced late or incorrectly (a 60 inch vanity ordered rather than 72inch) and broken materials were not identified immediately. We made the construction timeline but only with some creative solutions and lots of legwork. Overall, the guys at GBR are nice, charming people and the finished product looks good. But I give that credit to the amazing sub-contractor who completed the entire project. He covered for their issues and went out of his way to solve problems so that the finished product looked amazing and was finished on time. I would give this person a 5 star review, but I would not engage GBR in the future as this does not reflect value for money.

Easiest experience I've ever had with a remodel. And I was a nervous Nelly like no other. I've never done anything in the 20+ years I've lived here so I was scared to death of being ripped off and taken advantage of. I needn't have worried. Shams was meticulous with his proposal, outlining and detailing every step of the procedure. He was patient and explained everything in terms I understood. Next came to work: They covered my carpet taking care to make sure that they picked up after themselves at the end of each day. The noise and disruption was minimal. Every step was explained and they didn't mind my occasionally observing and asking questions. Em, my cat, thinks they were purr-fect! Impressive how well SCHICKER worked with Pleasanton's permit inspector in all three phases, to complete this project on time. SCHICKER's lifetime warranty assures me that if I have any issue in the future, all I have to do is call them. And I will!! He assessed both full bathrooms, and we sat and talked through all of the measurements, materials, plumbing, electrical, and various materials. He was extremely professional and friendly. I knew my bathrooms were not up to code, but no one else had explained why they weren't and the new standards are (such as for bathroom fans). He drew my bathroom out and priced it out at my house, and sent the quote to me before he left. This is definitely a luxury price, and I am still gathering quotes, but of the four companies I have asked for quotes, this is the only one who has actually sat with me for a full consultation and design explanation. Not just regarding aesthetics, but explaining why certain materials are best in wet versus dry areas. I also think it is important women know that this is a very professional company, sometimes it can be scary hiring teams to work in your house if you're home alone. Shams was not pushy, he was personable, I felt safe, and he proactively mentioned that their team is very safe, insured, takes care to be safe around the home (e.g. covering ground spaces in and out to avoid scratched surfaces/dragging dirt in). There is no sub-contracting so they always know who is in and out of clients' homes at any time. This made me feel very reassured, and is different to others I've hired for previous renovations. As I am still in the decision phase, I can't speak to the outcome of the renovations. But I would highly recommend a consultation with Shams at Schicker. It was educational, thorough, and I feel confident that if I do hire the team, they will do an excellent job.
