Went for the first time on Saturday. We weren't disappointed.. There were 4 of us. We all had different burgers and all were very good. Fries are well seasoned and also very good. I used to love this place, but it's hit a rough patch ever since Willie left (I don't see her anymore) My order has been wrong in someway the last 4 out of 4 times. 3 times on carry out and once on dine in. I've caught it at the restaurant twice. The one time the poor waiter was overworked (but a good waiter to handle that many tables plus a to go order). I heard him getting yelled out from the kitchen. I know he wasn't the guy who took the order. I'm sure he quit. He threatened to walk out under his breath. He had a ton of tables plus a big top. They remade my sandwich, but weren't nice about it. On a dine in experience, they forgot to bring one order to a table, everyone had finished their meal, and then the meal showed up and was slapped on the table without an apology, the cook was not nice about it. We had a to go order they made early...it was gross when we got home. We got it for a friend working. Didn't seem worth the fight to call. What? I'm going to complain to angry food slinging guy? Other 2 times stuff went wrong, we just dealt with it. Shared food. Tried something weird and gross. The food, if you get it right, is tasty and a bang for your buck. The regular guy that work there in the kitchen (appropriately named Dick (this is a complete guess on my part), is...unpleasant but can make good food at solid 7. -5 for general demeanor and getting your food wrong. My crab cakes platter was two fried generic Sysco crab cakes (certainly not anything that resembled homemade), thin cut fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was dry and crab cakes were bland. He lucked out with the draft beer, but my "white" wine, chardonnay, was a chenin blanc at best. Yes, I know, it's not a wine place, but this was sweet and...not good. Best Burger that I've had in years. Toasted bun and fresh ingredients. Hand pressed patties and cooked to perfection. They will even grill your onions if you ask. Hand cut fries, so many you can share. Great onion rings and yum for the fried dill pickles. Service is fast and always friendly. When I crave a great burger, this is where I head to. You won't be disappointed. If I ever get enough burgers, I just might try the fried fish and seafood. Little dirty..no gloves... no mask..no hair nets or hats. So i would give a 3 star but the guy from the back would come out and sit play guitar or help deliver food with dirty clothes from cooking, like flour etc all down his front even pants and more important DID HE WASH HIS HANDS? Especially if you close at the early hour of 8:00 on Saturday night....... What a disappointment to be turned away with my family. Nothing but good things to say about the Friday night steak special. Large Rib Eye steak, 4 fried or grilled shrimp, baked potato with the works, and a side salad for only $16.99. Wife and I both had the special and both looked and tasted great. Steak was cooked medium rare over a wood grill and had a good flavor. We had a choice of four large fried or grilled shrimp, we opted for fried which were cooked just right. The baked potato was smoking hot with plenty of butter, sour cream, and real bacon bits. salad was dinner bowl sized shredded iceberg lettuce with cheese and tomato with homemade ranch dressing. Waitress was very nice and kept the ice tea and water full and was happy to bring extra salad dressing. Everyone else in the place seemed to be having the same special. read more

Ok the last time we ate here was a very good experience. This time I am hoping we just hit them on a bad night but I won't be back after the way the owner treated me. We got there on a Friday night and there wasn't much room to get my daughter who is in a wheelchair in. She in soared as it was her fav spot to eat. So after getting sat we all ordered our drinks. My husband ordered a Cayman Jack he had it before and the waitress told him they did not carry them. We then all ordered sweet tea. The waitress seemed to be distracted or on some kind of meds. She brought us all unsweetened tea. We ordered our food and appetizers. After waiting for over an hour and calling the waitress over several times about where our food is we walked out still hungry!!!!! My husband and friend that was with us confronted them at the till and our food was in the window to be served and yet they still argued that it wasn't ready! I left a very long bad review on facebook and the owner pmed me and asked me to remove it. I did but also told him that it would not stop me from telling friends of our bad experience. Here is what he sent me. (It's funny how two people in the same place have completely different views, I was there you passed me in the door while you were switching tables from outside to inside, Friday and Saturday nights are busy everything we make we cook to order, we are not fast food, I realize that you were aggravated because it took so long and,for that I apologize when the waitress take's your order they are all put in line when your turn comes up your food is cooked sometimes it takes a while, I realize that you were further aggravated because your child had an accident at the table, as far as your exaggeration on the time when you got mad and left your ticket was on the computer marked at 32 minutes, now I realize we also have to factor in the time for the waitress to get to your table and take your order but that is not unreasonable for a busy night, as far as the waitress goes she was not high she was new and a little overwhelmed, now I'm quite sure myself due to her appearance that she probably had some Prast drug use in Her life, unlike you I try not to judge and believe everybody deserves a chance, as it turns out waitressing is just too stressful of a job for her maybe you put her over-the-top. As for my reply I'm giving you the common courtesy of doing it on the back burner, even though you didn't extend the same courtesy to me, but make no mistake I would have had no problem posting this reply publicly, so tell your friends and family whatever you would like and I'll look forward to seeing you again in the future under better circumstances thanks Willie. ). GREAT menu with a variety of different options. The Philly Willy cheesesteak is a favorite, as is the catfish. Best shrimp in town! And the burgers are exceptional. Excellent food. Willie & Dick's Grill has a very small town feel and what seems to be an exclusively local crowd. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is definitely above average. The burgers have numerous options for toppings and style, and the appetizer selection covers another large area on the menu. I ordered the Chicken fried steak. It was made fresh, so its not fast food. When the waitress brought it out, I couldn't believe how big it was. Almost hanging over the plate, plus a very large quantity of fries. The steak was cooked medium. The gravy was very good, I don't use salt, so it was a little salty to me. Service was great. This was our second trip to the place. The food was great again. We had burgers last time and they were great. This time he had a sub club and I had the catfish dinner. The coleslaw is a little different but it was really good! The catfish was excellent. Don't expect the fries to be crispy, because they aren't that kind of french fry. They are hand cut and seasoned perfectly and cover the bottom of the basket. The only thing wrong with the hush puppy stix was that there weren't enough of them...I could have eaten a dozen of them. READ THIS!!!! Ok, get this! My wife and I, along with some family members had dinner at this place a few weeks back. Had a great time. Met the owner SEEMED like a nice guy, who by the way is a sheriffs constable for the county! Today, I decide to take my parents there on the way to my 12 yr old daughters art award ceremony on the square at the art festival. We placed our order, fried mushrooms a couple of beers, and 3 catfish dinners. There are only 6 people in the whole place. We got our mushrooms and beers......., waited 40 minutes and still no food! Told the waitress we had would have to get it to go, 10 more minutes, nothing! It was time to go....,so we had to cancel our food order, paid for our mushrooms and beer, walked out, got in our truck, and as we are pulling out, the owner comes out into the parking lot DEMANDING that we pay for our meals that he said they had just now put in the fryer!!! We told him no and he started yelling about being a cop and he would file charges on us! We drove away, went to the ceremony, when we got back to our truck, there was a card from the Granbury police department stuck in my folks windshield from an officer Westen, with his phone number written on it saying that we needed to call him...,CRAZY!!!! So Mr Dick Willy, got my folks license plate number and called his police officer buddies on the force and has them actually go out looking for my parents truck around the square!!! It scares me how they actually found it in ALL that traffic!!! I am BAFFLED how this man has acted over 3 fish baskets that we were NEVER SERVED!!! I don't believe we have broken any laws!
