Not my first visit to this spot, but was my first visit ordering crawfish... I only ordered 3lbs because I wanted to try them. Crawfish was served very hot and well seasoned, but not spicy at all. Corn & potatoes are an extra charge as well as mushrooms & onions. I only wanted potatoes & mushrooms and the clerk doubled it as I didn't want corn or onions. The place was very clean and the server was friendly and attentive. The margaritas are good and only $4. The Philly cheesesteak my boyfriend ordered was mediocre... overall a pleasant experience but nothing to "Wow" over. Skip this place. The women's bathroom was disgusting. Super dirty and smelled awful. I would fire their cleaning crew. Had their chicken Caesar salad. Chicken was overcooked, and i think they poured a half bottle of dressing on the salad. Nothing positive about today's experience. read more

Very disappointing. We were visiting family and decided to go here. My wife had the Chipotle Ribeye Tacos and they were served cold. The meat had a strange texture and were difficult to eat. She just left them on the table. I had the wings, Scorpion and Hot Cheeto. I ordered 10 and wanted 1/2 & 1/2 - I got 6 Scorpion and 4 Hot Cheeto. Server never brought us plates for it (there were five of us sharing it). Ordered a BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado) without the "BLT" sauce. Received a BLTA with the sauce all over it. Sent it back, new sandwich had ZERO avocado. Server offered to bring me a side of avocado. See picture of what I received. This location is very poorly managed. Find your own seat, and your waitress will be right there with you. 2. Price - about $10 a person? 3. Ambiance - when you walk into this place, you feel as if you are in Louisiana somewhere. Is that the vibe I'm supposed to get? I'm not sure, but that's how I feel. Dress code here is casual. 4. I recommend the FULLY LOADED BAKE POTATO. It's very filling for a grown man. Willie's at 5pm on a Thursday provided a quiet spot to relax and enjoy dinner with the kiddos. The youngest ordered the mini corn dogs with fries. They were seasoned nicely and priced well. My son got the Buffalo sauced wings with celery and he said they were pretty good. My teen girls each ordered the pulled pork sandwich which comes with a jalapeño slaw. They liked it. I wasn't in the mood for their menu items so I just got a salad which was simple enough and made me feel somewhat healthy. The waitress was wonderful. Didn't bother us, just checked on a couple things throughout the hour she served us. The restaurant opened up their garage like doors so everything felt open and fresh with the cool but gentle autumn breeze blowing through. It really was quite relaxing. You can sit inside or out and catch a view of the waterway in the Grand Parkway shopping area. It really is a prime spot for dining and relaxing. The food just doesn't wow me here. Plus I think it's kind of weird to place your order when you walk in, which the cashier writes down. Then she/he gives the order back to you and you go find a table. When the waitress/waiter comes, he/she takes your order and confers again with you about what you've ordered. Then the order is placed. Why not just call in the order upon giving it to the cashier?!? It has a fast food vibe when you do that -placing your order with the cashier while looking at the massive menu board behind them. But then you sit down and feel waited on like a diner. We had a really rough experience the first time. Manager read my review and decided to send me two $25 gift cards for all the trouble. So we decided to come back and give it a try. To find out, the gift cards that the manager sent me both do not work, they had Zero balance on both of them. Ha ha fooled me once but you're not fooling me twice. I can't believe after talking to the regional manager telling him I did not want the gift cards and him insisting that he sends them to me and please give our restaurant another shot. Would have zero balance.What save the night, we had one of the most amazing server I ever had waited on me. I added a picture of his name tag. I am so mad at myself for forgetting about this amazing place. It is so hard to please everyone's taste buds....crawfish for my kid, burgers for the other kid, and a place where everyone can be happy for me is good enough! I ended up ordering the chicken tenders because, why not!? I am a grown woman and I will always love their tenders, however as we awaited our food I ordered a sharable gumbo for my daughter and I and as much as I hate to admit it, it was probably one of the best gumbo I've had in a long time! I think the cooks are true Cajuns after that Shrimp and sausage gumbo. As a matter of fact, I am craving some right now! I can't believe I never brought my family here before and I felt like a failure to my kids since I enjoyed coming to the location on 1960 and Stuebner Airline (RIP) when I was a youngin'. Not only did we all enjoyed our food, the service and the hours (since many places close early) but what my family loved most of all was the outdoor seating. We had the blackened grilled shrimp and fried cheese sticks which were both excellent! The service was great! This was the first time we had Corrianne (CoCo) as a server and she is top-notch. Went to Willie's on 99 yesterday, horrible experience! I ordered a crispy chicken club sandwich and it was inedible! Sloppily plated, greasy, wet, couldn't pick it up to eat. I thought it had scrambled eggs sliding out but I think it was cheese. The chicken was NOT CRISPY, but stringy and wet, half way off the bun, bacon was tough! I asked for silver wear to try and cut it, but they only had forks, NO KNIVES! It was too wet and messy to pick up. I sent it back, told the server I didn't want it. She came back and offered to bring me another or something else but I declined, I ate my fries, hubby ate his burger, we paid check and left. This place was just not good. The fried pickles were sliced super thin so all you taste is batter. The pickles need to be cut a lot thicker so you can actually taste them. I got the grilled shrimp poboy and it was inedible. The shrimp were burned and that is all you could taste. Every single bite tasted charred. It was bad. The fries were decent though. I do not like the fact that you have to pay the same price for a water cup as you do for soda or tea. Nearly every restaurant out there gives out water for free. "MY WIFE LET ME PICK WHERE WE'RE EATING LUNCH AT TODAY --- AND I CHOSE ---" My Wife had a Doctors appointment just before Lunch and we know this one takes awhile - and it did - so - after it was over we went out for a Late Lunch or an Early Dinner - doesn't matter because either way we are getting a Margarita. We talked about where we want to eat at and my Wife mentioned Willie's Grill & Icehouse and then said; "You pick where you want to eat at." - Well, guess what - we decided on Willies Grill & Icehouse - see how easy that was - but not the one we always go to - we chose the one at Kuykendahl & 99 because we have not been to that one. We arrived just in time for a Margarita because whatever time it is - it's time for a Margarita. My Wife ordered the Swirl (Lime & Strawberry) and I ordered a Strawberry. They are only $3 each and are 16 Frozen Ounces of Deliciousness. Now we must order some food because it's time for 'Lunner'. Looking over their Vast Menu my Wife decided on the 'Willie Burger' with French Fries; Half Pound Patty, topped with Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles & Onion. I am getting the 'IceHouse Burger' with French Fries; Half Pound Patty with Pepper Jack Cheese, BACON & Mushrooms, Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles & Onion. The Order Taker Guy made our Margaritas and topped my Wife's off with a Strawberry & a Lime, mine was topped off with a Strawberry. We took our drinks and Order receipt and located a Booth that was just Cleaned because we saw them do it - and they do it right - nice. Our Server, Lynn, was right at our table when we sat down. We spoke for a little while, she read off our order and then delivered it to the Kitchen. My Wife and I toasted and enjoyed those Deliciously Cold Frozen Margaritas and these are Really Good Stuff - Nice Flavoring with a little Kick. Lynn returned with extra Napkins and containers of condiments. We spoke a little bit more and she remembers our Most Favorite Server Ever from the Willie's on FM-1960, Alicia, who now became a Police Officer. Let me tell you, Alicia was the Best Server Ever, Cute & Funny and we really miss her and wish her well. Lynn returned with our Food and both baskets were filled with Big Burgers and Fries. We Love Willie's Burgers and have had just about every one they offer. One bite into this Burger told me that this Willie's is the Best Willie's because they added more Stuff on their Burgers. It's like they kind of Slopped It Up a little and that's what I look for - a little extra Tastyliciousness. They also delivered it really fast - like right off the grill to your table. The Burger was served HOT. My Wife loved hers also, said it was really Fresh and served Hot - and tasted Great. We Love their Fries also. Lynn brought out some Mayo for us to enjoy them with. My Wife didn't eat all of her Fries because she's not tall enough to do that and doesn't want to get wide. She said that if she's taller she would eat more Fries - so I ate'em up for her because I'm tall - and the extra Mayo was just enough to finish them off. Both our Baskets are empty and my Wife ordered a Strawberry Margarita To-Go, so Lynn brought out one with a sealed lid on it for the road - actually, for her to enjoy at Home. Love their Margaritas here - Very Nice Flavoring. Lynn earned the Dollar-Bow-Tie Award and Loved it. She was great to talk to and has been with Willie's for several years and Loves her work. Mariah & Rosa are the Managers here and you can see that they train their Employees really well. Everyone seems to enjoy what they are doing, are Very Polite and Courteous and they keep this place Really Clean. A Big Round of Applause to the entire staff at this Willie's Grill & Icehouse.
