We go there on week days (mon-thur) and mostly without a booking . The Chilean Sea Bass used to be one of there best meals. It should taste like a buttery fish with a nice crusty outside. This was so tough you needed a knife to cut it. My wife ate maybe 10% of her plate. Not only did the waitress ask her about the meal, but the manager was rounding and stopped by to see how we enjoyed our dinner. Both individuals asked her if she wanted a free dessert but she wasn't interested. I figured they would discount her dinner or take off her drink from the bill. Nothing! So, apparently they think it's ok to charge $47 for this meal that was sent back uneaten. Wow! Sadly, we won't be back for a while. Both the dining area and bathroom were very clean and it is obvious that the management here cares about their facility. This is appreciated as it is becoming increasingly rare. Could have used more cheese, but that's just me. Croutons rather than bread would have been better. Not overly salty. Shrimp Cocktail (5/5) Probably the best shrimp cocktail I've had - anywhere. Four huge shrimp - all very fresh and with an excellent cocktail sauce. Filet Mignon w/Lobster Tail (5/5) Marvelous. Cooked perfectly as requested with very good sides (roasted potatoes and a delicious vegetable medley). The fig cabernet reduction added a hint of sweetness that paired surprisingly well with the flesh. Nice pink center without blood on the plate. Lobster was also perfectly prepared and was a treat! Black Forest Torte (5/5) Ended the meal with this and I'm glad I did. Satisfied the sweet tooth without overdoing it. An excellent end to an already excellent meal. Coffee was also very good. Top to bottom, this was probably one of my best dining experiences - ever. If you are looking for true five-star dining, this is it. The other night, my sister and I took my dad to Willoughby's for his birthday. We've dined there a few times before and noticed a gradual decline in quality. While the steaks and appetizers were acceptable, the drinks were overly strong. Our main issue was that our side dish arrived only after we had finished our meal. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I understand that mistakes happen, but the situation could have been managed better. When our entrees arrived, we inquired about the side dish and were told it was on its way. Halfway through our meal we were informed it had been overlooked but was now in the oven. By the time our meal was over, our waitress asked if she should just pack up the side dish. No manager ever came by to apologize or address the mistake. Additionally, the mac and cheese did not hold up well when reheated, making it a waste of money. Overall, the lack of managerial intervention and the poor communication and quality regarding the side dish left us very disappointed. read more

While technically in the Wyomissing boundaries, the close proximity to the VF Outlets can and should make Willoughby's on Park a prime lunchtime destination when shopping in downtown West Reading. Keyword: SHOULD. But alas, they are only open for dinner starting at 4:30. The limited dinner-only hours, however, are commonplace among upscale eateries, so it is what it is. The interior underwent a complete overhaul. For those who remember this place as Willougbhy's Bar and Grille, well, there are few remnants of that place that still remain. The endgame was to convert this location into an upscale steakhouse that also specialized in seafood and cocktails. Steaks are cooked to perfection, the staff is warm and friendly, the dining room is stunningly beautiful, and service is outstanding. After a long day traveling a steak was just what I needed. I ordered the NY Strip. It came out properly cooked and it was very tasty. The mashed potatoes were forgettable. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and they were very tasty. I also ordered the French onion soup. It was just ok to me. I'm not sure where they missed the mark, but it was just a little off. Pan seared. Sounded tantalizing. Wife orders lobster ravioli. Her favorite there. I asked for a glass of ice to accompany my bottled beer. First waitress brings 5oz glass with ice but starts to pour beer into 6-7 ounce glass without ice. Had to stop her. Then asked for tall glass with ice. Instead of pint glass she brings another 6-7 ounce filled? with ice. I let it go. Wife's lobster unable to eat without getting her fingers messy. No one bothered to crack the shell. Messy for her. Unreal for me. Wasn't happy with the taste either. Brought the rest home. The Halibut wasn't just "seared " it was fried. Hard. Difficult to cut with a butter knife. One of the best restaurants in Berks County. In my opinion, worth the extra cost you'll endure over your standard chain restaurant with microwaved entrees and frozen desserts they get from a factory. I've been here twice and both times my meal was sensational. The duck breasts in cherry wine sauce and a bed of risotto is sensational and one of the most cost effective entrees on their menu. I recommend it to anyone going here. I plan on returning with my partner to try out something different, because there's plenty to explore on their menu. Two out of three dishes were just average. The scallops were in the broiler too long giving them a crispy top and the Veal Chop was just slightly overcooked. Both tasted fine. The risotto side with the scallops was undercooked with a really odd taste. The Prime NY Strip was very good. Well worth the trip. The soup and two appetizers we had were also just average. So my husband made reservations for our anniversary dinner here; this is my first instance of indoor dining since March because of COVID and let me tell you, they have got it down pat! Every other table had an unlit candle, which implied to me that no one was to be sat there in order to maintain social distancing...tables were set, so you didn't feel like the distancing was done as a rule. Well done! We started with the pork belly special over lentils and French Onion soup...both were hot and flavorful. I had the filet mignon on toast points with Gorgonzola cream appetizer as my entree and the hubby had a dry aged Kansas City strip steak that was OUTSTANDING! It was cooked perfectly and, in all honesty, he didn't need the Gorgonzola cream that he requested on the side, as it was flavorful without anything additional. The biggest star tonight, though? I patronized your restaurant tonight. Your manager who said he called you (I continue to say manager because he never gave me his name), said to me he is not going to take a loss for the discrepancy in menu price on the menu I saw and the current menu. I am always using Yelp and when I brought this issue to one other restaurant, they said we forgot to change the menu. Your manager tried to say I was accountable for the mistake, I told him I am the customer and cannot be held accountable. I will be reporting this to the BBB and giving my review on social media all because of how your manager, whoever he is mishandled the situation. He also changes his story as he goes again not a good way to handle a customer. Oh and by the way I travel for work and I have never encountered a person like your manager. It was good. I enjoyed my food and the experience. But did it make me want to absolutely die and go to heaven? No unfortunately not. The calamari appetizer was great, we loved the sauce that came with! But I've definitely had better. Anyone can do a fried calamari and get away with it. A true test of a good calamari? Oven baked, no fried breading. For entrees we ordered the seared duck and a 10oz filet mignon with the bearnaise sauce. The duck was great and the risotto served with it was even better. I would have it again. Truly a good dish. The filet was satisfactory but for a place the prides themselves on good meats I personally think it wasn't any better than a Texas Roadhouse steak. The steak was just blah, cooked medium rare which was requested, but it wasn't melt in your mouth good. It was missing the wow factor...? Definitely not in the top 5 best steaks I've ever had. Did not have a great experience. Food was OKAY, nothing stellar but not bad by any means. Our server was great. The issue came with the tomahawk steak we ordered. It wasn't cooked right but oh well. We said something and were met with "it's your fault, you should have ordered it a temperature higher because its a tomahawk steak. that's just how it is". Coming from the floor manager (alyssa?). I had reservations for my mothers 69th birthday last evening and the staff treated her like royalty and made her feel so special that she literally was tearing up. Ryan the GM is absolutely amazing and our server Tanya (sp?) was extra sweet and extremely attentive. All the food was top of the line fine dining. We had the oysters on the half shell, charcuterie, lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail ( BIGGEST shrimp I have ever seen), twin lobster tails, scallops and green brûlée for dessert. The food however is consistent and excellent which is normally the best a restaurant can do but, this restaurant has a strong staff. The owner stopped by the table, Dan the manager on duty was very professional & Ann(e) the executive chief was very pleasant. However, the CROWN JEWEL of my experience was Tika the server! Talk about exceptional hospitality and service! Tika was literally the greatest server I have ever seen, I mean it's possible she's telepathic . She made my experience so amazing and did so in a manner that felt effortless and natural. On an unplanned night we stopped for dinner , what a lovely experience from the moment we walked in we were greeted by a young man at the host stand who enthusiastically welcomed us and showed us to a great table. Our waitress was very nice , explaining the menu and drink options but the highlight of the evening besides the delicious filet mignons was my special request of a "Rhode Island" style Veal Cop w Cherry Peppers. We worried we didn't dress nice enough, but I saw someone in a a tshirt so I was relieved. The lighting is dim, which helps hide imperfections:) We made a reservation only a half hour prior and were seated right away on arrival. We sat at a round table plenty big and cuddled on the one side. The server was super attentive and gave us the run down, recommended the aged bone in rib-eye which my hubby ordered! We ordered drinks, and my peach cosmo was deliciously dangerous. We shared the fried bacon with candied Brussels appetizer, it was succulent although the candied sprouts wanted to stick to my teeth. I ordered sea scallops on a cauliflower purée with roasted cauliflower and shaved apples with a sauce. The rib eye was worth every penny, and it was pricey! But it melted in your mouth. We ordered a side of mushrooms which were cooked perfectly and seasoned well with rosemary and garlic. The orzo underneath was a Mediterranean delight with olives and capers. The green bean accompaniment was crunchy and fresh. We were so full we couldn't eat dessert but I'm sure they wouldn't have disappointed. Wonderful date place! My husband and I visited Willoughby's on Park for our anniversary dinner this past week. It's a very nice and clean establishment with a Ruth's Chris vibe. This particular day it wasn't crowed at all (January 2nd), partially because it was the day after the new year. Fine on our part, because the setting was very quaint and intimate. Here's a breakdown: Pros: The shrimp and crabmeat cocktail is amazing! We ordered the 35oz steak for two--it was cooked to perfection (highly recommend). My husband loved the chocolate cake. The waitress was really nice she comp'd out drinks b/c it was our anniversary. The mac and cheese is really good. Cons: The waiting was eternal between each course...beware. I ordered a Cosmopolitan--it was more vodka than cosmo. I ended up switching it out for Prosecco. The lobster bisque was okay. The Pumpkin creme brûlée was no bueno.
